Was the Webb player trying to protect himself on the play immediately prior when he did the same thing?

When he clapped and shouted something at Kane when he was laying on the ground, was he still protecting himself?

There is a photo in the local Williamson county paper of one of the blocks.  Don't know if it was the first or second which resulted in the injury or maybe a different block earlier in the game, but it does involve the two players in question.
