I don’t think we have enough to compete at the highest level this year honestly. This will be a rebuilding year imo! But with our schedule we will still go 9-1/8-2

Brushing off going 8-2 like it's simple to do, or even the notion that that it still would be a failure of a season is the exact reason I would say Shawn has applied to other jobs. People forget there was a time Betsy was going 5-5, 4-6, and even 3-7. Zero appreciation for the job he has done, entitlement in the first degree.

If 2018 is a rebuilding year then 2019 will be also because you will have a new QB and WR/ RB so they will be real young in 2019.

It may take some time after 2018,but the future is bright they have a couple of very good quarterbacks, running backs and receivers in jr high,I haven't seen the linemen but should be loaded in the skill positions

Wouldn't be shocked if this is true.  Still not convinced that the DB job is a life changing opportunity, last yr our middle school beat both sevier and Robinson . If you read the 6A threads over past years, they can't be pleased

Nothing against Elizabethton but I think most people would tell you DB is the better job. And I'm not a DB fan (Science Hill fan).  DB is arguably one of the premier jobs in the state. They have the best facilities in the state and tons of athletes to choose from. And Witten might want a change. There's no denying he loves his alma mater but he might be ready to move on.

    • To be fair to the head coach, he may have submitted his roster of players to the AD and the AD with the help of a counselor checks the academic status of each player then submits to the TSSAA.  Some coaches do not submit eligibility status on the TSSAA portal
    • Has does the AD still have a job at the school. Someone had to submit eligibility rosters to the TSSAA before the season starts.  That’s usually submitted by the AD along with head coach.  Someone submitted the ineligible student and was listed as eligible.  That will come out soon as it can be checked on the TSSAA portal who submitted the eligibility status of all players.
    • Your lucky, my head hit my desk….. desk is fine.
    • This is my ranking, not computer generated. I factored in how poorly that region competed in postseason play…which is why Loretto and LC didn’t make the cut. Loretto is probably 11 though.
    • They are absolutely loaded! If you look at their season schedule I don’t think an Instate team has beat them! They have many D1 commits! With the best Coach in the state I don’t see anyone stopping them for a 3-peat!!!
