ladyeagle
I think you need to check what you are saying before you go around spouting off. Coach Willard is a wonderful man with the upmost respect for anyone that has EVER played for him

balla33
This post is to "playball", you need to get your facts strait. Coach Willard is a great coach. Yea he loses his temper..and DOESNT quit..thats what makes him a good coach. He teaches his players to NEVER give up. Wether you're down by 20 with 30 seconds left on the clock or if you're up bye 20. You people need to get things strait before you get on here and start runnin your mouth. I bet youve never played for Coach Willard. On or Off the court he treats his players with great respect. And there have been more players come back to him and thank him for everything he's done for them. and it means a great deal to him. I'll say it again.. YOU PEOPLE NEED TO GET YOUR FACTS SRAIT BEFORE YOU RUN YOUR MOUTH ON HERE.
macintosh
I think the post is suppose to be about Columbia's coach all this other crap that is going on needs to be cut out.
ladyeagle
to macintosh: this board, just like any other, is going to have little conversation that pop up besides the main one. this is just another example of those. i didn't see you write anything about the columbia coaching job
Guest arno
Does Coach Wild want the girls only or does he want the boys and the girls job?
balla33
Which ever has the most talent, after all he is John "the talent chaser" Wild
greenwheel
A source close to the Columbia program told me that several interviews will happen this weekend. He also said that no "big" names will be interviewed.
Guest arno
Who is a big name in girls basketball?
greenwheel
Maybe instead of using "big" names I should have used "nobody to get excited about". But a couple of names that would be considered big names are Jim Brown of Jackson County and John Wild of Lawrence County. Both were rumored to have applied for the job. Guest region4fan
Arno...I think that the name Pat Summitt is considered to be a BIG name in girls' basketball. But seriously...the name Rick Insell would perk up many an ear if mentioned as a candidate for a local job!!Unfortunately I think he will stay put in the Walking Horse Capital of TN!! banjodr
Don't be surprized but the budget constraints in Maury County will not allow a high profile coach to be hired at present. We will have to wait and see what kind of budget gets passed. If the hiring freeze stays put the Columbia jobs more than likely will come from within the teacher pool in Maury County which includes many names mentioned already but one not to overlook that may have an interest and fits the criteron for the budget crunch is the boys coach at Culleoka Hal Murrell. could be a sleeper for the boys or girls job. Not for sure by any means but don't rule it out.
