What is it with people and Friendship?!? They never give them any recognition. THey only lost one starter and they have been to state plenty of times in the past few years. THey should get some attention just as well as Ezell and GOodpasture and Forrest, etc. I know some of the people on that team and they are some of the best people in the world. Can someone tell me why they are "left out in the cold??"

Ok, if you think Friendship has a bad attitude, as you said they did, then you tell me one time that you saw them have a bad attitude. Frioendship's girls are probably some of the best well rounded people in the world. I don't know of one bad attitude on the team. Where in the world was this "bad" attitude???!!!???

I am by no means a softball 'insider' but do have some type of clue. I would assume that a program that has gone to the state as often as FCS has goes and plays in all of the top weekend tournaments, and therefore plays top competition, right? Does FCS play in THE top tournaments every weekend, or do they play in the second-tier tournaments (there is a difference)? How many times has FCS been to the state recently (four out of five years, is it something like that)?

The only thing I can figure, as to why they don't get the recognition they deserve, is that their district and region is weak. I mean, they don't have to go through any competition in order to get to the state. Ezell faces tough Class A competition a lot in their district and region. I'm sure it makes them tougher too. FCS is hardly ever challenged until they get to the state. Do they even get challenged in the substate (what's the competition like from the Chattanooga area - will the second-place team out of their district have a shot to go to the state too)?

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that they'd be more respected if they didn't have such an easy road to the state. It's beneficial in that the FCS program is at a level to where it can get to the state every year. However, it's detrimental in that the lack of competition hurts when they do get there.

Any thoughts?

Every time I see Goodpasture at a tournament, Freindship is there too. SO, yes, they play in "good" tournaments. THey have Boyd-Buchanon in Substate, which is not a bad team at all, and they do face Goodpasture and other good teams this year in their season. So, shouldn't they get some respect!!??!!

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
