Dale Earnhardt, Inc. (DEI) has released Steve Park from his driving duties of the #1 Pennzoil Chevrolet. Steve, DEI’s first full-time Winston Cup driver, began driving for the team in the fall of 1996 before racing a full season in the NASCAR Busch Series in 1997.

I think DEI should have waited untill the end of the year to release Park. Alot could have changed over the rest of the season and that could have been DEI's mistake.

I don't think Park was that great of driver he really never showed anythnig even on the "plate tracks" where Jr. & Micheal would dominate. When Darrell Waltrip drove part of the year for Park a few years back I think he had better finishes I think several top 10 and led races in the #1 car at Pocono & California!

I am suprised at the timing of this. It was probably a good move but I would have thout it would have been later in the season. Dog gone it, now they will have to make a retake of the commercial where little E and Park are making fun of Michale Waltrip. I think Park is better than what he has shown since his accident.

Steve Park has been hired by (RCR) Richard Childress Racing and will drive the #30 AOL Cheverolet!
