i have just looked at some rankings on NBADraft.net and it has tyler smith number 1 in the nation. I am not really that much into tyler but if he is ranked number one in the nation he should definatly be ranked number 1 in the state. Gomab when you were doing your 17u team rankings you put YOMCA number 1 just because they were ranked number 2 in the nation. I do agree with you that the delks are great but also think that tyler is a little better.

No, when I put Memphis Y #1 in 17's rankings, I put them there because they are hands down the best team in the State. Period. And they have more than show that with their out of state wins, including wins vs the current #1 team in the country, the previous #1 team in the Country, the #8 team in the country, two more Top 25 teams, and losses to a current #1 team in the country and another ranked team. Plus, I have seen the team many times, and yes, they are the REAL DEAL. Period. So this has NOTHING to do with Tyler (I just don't feel Tyler is up with Louis Williams and some of the others, but I'm glad some people do).....

I've been after Gomab enough on Tyler but just so folks will know, Tyler was also one of only 3 Sophomores selected to the Basketball Phenoms Underclassmen All-American Team. He was third team All-American while Louis Williams was 1st Team. Tyler is having a great summer and what impresses me about him is how much work he is putting in to improve his overall game. While Gomab may feel the Delks are better, there is no way he can rank the lesser Delk ahead of Tyler, he simply has not proven he is that great a player while playing 16u for Gomab. Reginald Delk is better than his brother but even while only playing 16u he has not put up the numbers Tyler has this summer. Tyler is starring at the top level on a top 20 summer team. Right now he is the better player of the three, Gomab thinks the Delks have more potential and only time will tell.

I look forward to seeing Tyler this summer....

 

4 of the top 5 Sophs in the State will be participating this weekend at the Ballerz Challenge of Champions in Lexington, TN. It will be a great opportunity to see how the Delks, JP Prince, and Jamont Gordon stack up against eachother....

      You didn't spell Greeneville and Elizabethton correctly in your sentence.  4A has the best teams in Upper East TN.  Carter County All-Stars and Greene County All-Stars is the Superbowl now.

      I expect Sevier County might be pretty good, perhaps Mo West as well.     But I don't see either of them getting out of round 2.          The rest of the region gets smoked in round 1.            Except for those once-in-a-blue-moon anomaly years the NET big schools are pretty much the same every season.

      Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold.       My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
