The chances may be remote, but according to the experts Columbia should have lost to Smyrna, Blackman and Riverdale. Will they go all the way? Probably not. But, unfortunately, if you're looking for a sure thing--Blackman and Riverdale are two of the teams with no chance.

Go Columbia! One Warrior is pulling for you.

well the unbelievable ride came to an end last nite with a 6-0 slaughter from bearden i would personally like to thank everybody who cheered for us and urged us to go on this season was unbelievable and almost to impossible to imagine... at the beginning of this year i thought teams like bearden and farragut were fairy tail teams that live far away and i would never see and there we were on the field with bearden and having farragut and g-town houstan next to us... to me that alone makes us winners expecially because at the beginning of this season we werent suppose to make it out of district i only hope next year goes this well and again thank you for all the c-town supporters

Yes Bearden was that good. We did play with alot of emotion and intensity the first half. We held them scoreless for the first 35 minutes. After Bearden scored it really took the wind out of our sails. Our heads were down a little at halftime and it showed to start the second half. I dont know why they call them 50-50 balls, because Bearden made it seem like 90-10 balls. They are really quick and agressive to the balls especially on goal kicks and free kicks. I watched Farragut play against McMinn Co. It was a similar game to the Columbia Bearden match except that Farragut led 2-0 at halftime. It took the wind out of McMinn's sails and Farragut score 6 goals in the second half many uncontested. McMinns defense gave up. The difference with us is that after Bearden led 3-0 our second team played. Its hard for second string defenders facing all state strikers. Columbia, Collierville, Houston and McMinn have nothing to be ashamed of. Bearden and Farragut for this year at least are a level above everybody else. I wish them both lots of luck in the finals. What a rivalry that must be, both being just a few miles apart from each other and in the same district. I know they do alot of trash talking to each other but there has to be alot of respect for each other also. Once again, Columbia Central thanks all their fans that made the trip to Memphis and the people who supported them on Coach t. There will only be 3 new starters on Columbias team next year so maybe we will be back.

Hey Yankee

Why did you put your second team in? Wouldn't it make sense to use your starters against a team like Bearden? It's not like your starters needed the rest for the next game or something. I don't understand your coach's idea that putting second team in would help against Bearden...Hopefully region 4 next year will pick up some stronger teams b/c it's surprising to see a team like Columbia come out of what used to be a great region. Sorry your season had to end in a slaughter...good luck next year

Hey umm last time i checked columbia beat teams from two other regions to get to the final four. I know you weren't trying to diss region 4 you just said we've been better which is true but it is still a great region I'm sure there are quite a few other teams in this country that would get slaughtered by bearden. So just telin you region 4 wasn't as weak as you might think this year.

Our coach put the second team in after the score was 3-0 and it was obvious the game was over. As for Region 4 we had to beat two teams, Blackman and Riverdale who had beaten us earlier in the season. Since we beat teams from Region 3 and whatever Region Collierville is from( I cant remember off hand) what does thay say for their regions. Not every region can be as good as Region 2, 5, or 6. After those three regions there is alot of parity. Sorry Region 4 doesnt live up to your standards. We will try to do better next year.

Why is it suprising to see a team like Columbia win region 4. We returned 8 starters from last year and will return 8 starters next year. This team has been playing together for a long time either school or club. Our defense allowed just over 1 goal per game. Sure our offense has struggled but Id rather have a strong defense and weak offense than vice versa. Columbia surprised alot of people just because of the poor record we had last year, but anybody who knows about this team knew we would be greatly improved. I will admit, I didnt think we would make it to the final 4, but hey we peaked at the right time. We were planning on next year to be our big year. We will be have our returning keeper, 2 defenders, 3 midfielders and both our strikers next year. We figured to go to regions this year and then take it from there. It s hard to improve next year since we made the final four this year, but we would like to go a little further next year. On paper, next years team should be better, but we all know what paper means.
