Reginald Delk lives up to #1 billing....

Recommended Posts

#1-rated prospect in the Class of 2005 Reginald Delk (Midstate Ballerz Elite) lived up to his top billing this past weekend with 6 dominating performances at the Ballerz Challenge of Champions, playing against some of the top prospects in the state, any age...

In a tourney that featured Top 10 Tn seniors Brian Fisk, Montrelle Crittendon, and Josh Peppers, Top 10 Mississippi Senior Curry Todd, plus a plethora of Top Tn Juniors and Sophomores, Reginald Delk shined as the Best Player in the entire tournament...

After leading the entire tourney in scoring at 22.3 ppg and leading his 16-year old team to the tourney finals, Reginald Delk absolutely dominated fellow Top-5 Soph JP Prince of Memphis White Station in the championship game. Though JP is an outstanding player and talent, Delk proved once and for all that Nationally it is between him and Tyler Smith for the Top spot in TN's Class of 2005. Prince was completely unable to stop Delk on the defensive end, while having his own shot blocked 4 times in the game. This was clearly Reginald Delk's coming out party...

Reginald's twin brother Richard was also outstanding, and clearly established himself as a Top 5 player in TN in the Soph class. Richard, who averaged 12.7 ppg for the weekend despite a deep hip bruise, can be placed anywhere in the Top 5 in the state, and outplayed the Superstar Prince as well... Richard is a playmaker, and like Prince, is a 6'5 PG. Richard's advantage, outside of defensively, is that he shoots the ball a lot better than Prince...

Right now, the Class of 2005 would have to look like this...

#1) Reginald Delk

#2)Tyler Smith (I will let you know exactly where Tyler stands after this weekend's Tournament of Champions)

#3)Jamont Gordon (his head could end up putting him out of the Top 5 or even 10)

#4) Richard Delk

#5) JP Prince (love his game. What a player! But is a liability with both his defense and outside shot)
