The Mustangs from Walker Valley will represent Region 3 A-AA at Savannah

next week in both boys & girls divisions. It proved to be an exciting finish as predicted with the Mustangs Pat Dye sinking a putt on the last hole for par to give the team a one stroke victory over Hixson High 324 to 325. Dye & A. J. Cantelmo,

also from Walker Valley tied for medalists honors after 18 holes with rounds of 78.

A. J. won the sudden death on the first playoff hole, but the best part of it was both young men were excited about having the whole team advancing to the state as a team. Paul Apyan & Josh Lawson from Hixson & Matthew Haemsch from Chattanooga Christian were the three individual players to advance to the state.

The Mustang's Amy Goble won girls medalist with Magan Barkley from W.V. runner-up.

Looking at the other region team scores across the state, the Mustangs 324 total

might seem high to those that were not there, but toughness of courses played

does make a difference. The Cleveland Country Club monday received many new names, some that can't be repeated.
