should playoffs be allowed in memphis

I know it is rather late to be discussing this, but I was just wondering about everybody elses opinion. I have noticed in recent years, that when most west tn schools go to play (or anyone) in memphis, the games usually aren't fair (this can be very easily proven). And I say that because of two reasons; (1) the Refs are to afriad to make fair calls because they think the home crowd will riot, or (2) they get paid and/or are bias. I personally like to choose the first reason. I was just wondering what everyone else thought about the idea that TSSAA make new laws that no playoff games be allowed their until they clean up their acts, or they go to a netural field somewhere else. Or if a petition could be issued for this. Lemme know what you think.

I think that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!!!! If you're scared to go to Memphis....don't go!!! But you shouldn't take the opportunity for Memphis schools to host playoff games away!!! That's ridiculous!!! WE LOVE YOU MEMPHIS!!! Memphis produces some of the best athletes in football and basketball every year! They deserve the chance to get home games just as much as anybody else! I think yoru request, sir, is ignorant! By the way....I wouldn't be goin to Memphis anytime soon wioth that attitude! They are some of the proudest people in the country of their hometown. When you diss Memphis.....you're gonna get alot of people mad! Haha! I wouldn't say that crap to them!!! Good Luck to ALL Memphis schools in the future in everything!!! I'd come to memphis for a game any day!!! We played Ridgeway last year at the State. Those fans and players were all very polite!!!

KNOX FULTON LOVES YOU MEMPHIS TEAMS!!!

PS---The refs at the AE/Fulton game were TERRIBLE last week!!! Does that mean there should be no playoff games in Knox?!?!

Paid and baised refs??????? that is crazy State Playoffs=State Refs only the best of the best get to referee those games and they arent going to be biased and are smart enough not to take money. Plus the only bad thing about memphis is the distance it is away from everything. That is the ONLY reason a school would not like to play there.

A couple of years ago (2000) Riverdale went over to play Cordova in the semifinals. It poured down all day and night and we played in about a

foot of water or so but the Cordova folks were great and we ran into some

of the players and their girlfriends after the game when we stopped to eat

before driving back and we had a great time with them...

Whoever posted this post originally is way out in left field on this one....

Cordova, Germantown, Bartlett, etc... ain't Memphis. Just wait to you go play at Crump and have to have a police escort out b/c of shots fired by disgruntled Memphis Central Fans. May have been a one time incident... The police officers appeared bored as if this was a weekly event.

    • One final thought. Coach Keith claims he was not aware of the player's failing grades. I won't comment on that, just to say this, IF he did not, whose job was it to see that this kid did not play ball at CHS? That person should be looking for a job and they might be, I don't know.
    • They have fired the principal, 2 teachers, at least 1 counsellor and 1 coach so far. I don't see it from my view in Oak Ridge as a coach thing, he  was just implicated in asking 1 teacher to  fix 1 kid's grades.   In our local media(Clinton and Oak Ridge)the principal is who is the originator and pusher of the fraud. The others are peripheral. The coach isn't even the big story, just here on a sports site.  The media view is the principal did it to cause CHS to be seen as excellent by the state. He committed fraud to do that so he might spend a little time in jail IF that is valid.
    • And from coach himself, he wasn’t told he was let go because of the ineligible player.    that’s just what the schools needed to happen to fit their bull
    • Wish it was made clear before a coach gets let go or not retained instead of being sold as the reason he was in trouble. I was told the kids who got grades changed, 97% or better were non athletes but the coach is taking all the heat so the schools can pretend it wasn’t their job to know. heck, what do you think could happen when you hire husband and wife as head principal and head guidance….   that’s not being said though…
    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe.  Last time I came up there to watch my pirates one of those guys in that pickup trucks flattened the tires on the lawnmower.  This is payback.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
