CAK Vs. Rockwood

CAK will not be intimated by the home court of Rockwood, especially after Friday night. The entire district was booing and jeering against the Warriors and I'm sure it will be no different in the Regions. CAK is the underdog and that's the way they like it. They have a lot of character and will be gunning for the upset regardless of the crowd.

Look for Wartburg to give Cosby fits tomorrow night. Coach Layne will have them ready to go. But Cosby should come out on top. Oneida should cruise unless they come out underestimating Midway like they did Coalfield. Harriman will handle Greenback. And in the re-match everyone is wanting to see I'll take Rockwood by 5. I think Oneida beating Rockwood the other night was probably good for them. Coach K will get them refocused.

Let's just say, by "chance," that Cak beats Rockwood....Cak's battle for the championship doesn't stop there. Cak will have to play a good Harriman team. Cak has a great team but, I don't think they will make it past Rockwood and Harriman both.

Honey-

We are just taking this one game at a time.

Sorry to look ahead....but the only game ANYONE can lose and still be alive is the region championship game...I was just stating the chance that CAK would have to make it to that point. CAK has a tougher bracket in the region and I think that more people would pick Rockwood over them in the first round. "Look at the % on the Coacht Big Ones"

I'm really excited to see how this game turns out, both teams play well, and both teams have some really good players. But all and all i think im going to pull for Rockwood to win this game, the home court advantage is a plus also. Good luck to all the teams.

EagleEye, were you sitting behind the cosby girls bench during the Harriman game...??? just wondering if you are who I think

Its hard to really know who to pull for with the idea that Cosby is playing in this tourney. I have absolutely no respect for CAK. They definately do not represent their school well. Anyway and its hard knowing Cosby could play Rockwood on their home floor. But I am still pulling for Rockwood because of CAKs Overrated chants and their mile high egos. However with all this said, i feel Cosby has the best chance because of their heart. I believe they all know that NOW is the time to Play. There can be no more halfway good games and i believe they realize that. Go Rockwood on Teus. but go Cosby the rest of the way. Rockwood, play hard.

Good Luck to all teams in the tournament. Hope everyone has a safe trip. Knoxville traffic is supposed to be a pain. Does anyone know if Wartburg's radio station WECO will broadcast their game? All the games should be enjoyable to watch. There is alot of talent in this region hard to say who will advance.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!

Thanks for coming to Rockwood! Theres additional parking at the middle school and in front of the middle school in front of the church.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
