Congrats to Craig Cobb, freshman pitcher for U.T., on throwing a complete game on route to a 9-3 victory at Arkansas. Craig only gave up 5 hits, 3 runs, and 3 walks in the complete nine innings in his first career SEC start. Not a bad way to start it off replacing the regular Friday night starter Derek Tharpe out with an elbow injury. This will most likely get him some more innings than he has been seeing lately.

Hopefully, after this performance and getting the teams only win down at miami with some other good innings of work, he'll work his way to some form of a scholarship this next year. He sure deserves it. It's funny that no big schools including U.T. offered him any money out of high school then he goes on to get the win against the SEC's top team in Arkansas. This should show people that just because you aren't big and don't throw in the 90's doesn't mean you can't win in the SEC. I'd be surprised if he hit 87 mph in this game, but he doesn't have to throw hard with the way he locates his fastball, change-up, and curve ball the way he does. I haven't seen many people locate better.

Congrats to Craig and his parents Kim and Cathy on a great win. Keep it up Craig, hopefully we'll see more of you in SEC weekends to come.

Congrats Craiger...hard to think that less than a year ago you were shutting down Munford, and now you're shutting down Miami, LSU, and Arkansas! Not bad..I'd have to say if I saw Craig walking down the street he'd just be a normal student...but C-O-Double B is NASTY - Hopefully Rod hooks the boy up with SOMETHING....maybe books, he's earned it

it looks like fellow freshman at u.t. sean watson couldnt match up to craig cobbs performance last night, the freshman starter thew 6 innings, gave up only 3 earned runs, but on 5 hits, 5 K's, and 7 BB's, thats rediculous, if im not mistaken, his strikeout to walk ratio this year is almost 1:1 after that performance, if u.t. spends that much money to go get someone out of miami who can hardly throw strikes and rarely gets out of the 5 inning b/c of pitchcount, and then have someone that throws a ton of strikes in craig cobb and gets people out throwing a complete game, they need to rethink how they are going to distribute their money

Craig is the "Greg Maddox" type pitcher.......in appearance and stuff. Not a giant in size....but in heart.......smart.......not a over powering presentation.....but kills you with the main ingredient to many successful undertakings.....location, location, location!!!!!!......a pitcher.....not just a hard thrower.

    • The people need our help!
    • Lol when was last time they won region or got past the 3 rd round.
    • Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
