liondef4
I have always wondered the answer to this question but why did soccerinfo.com only choose to rank the top eleven teams in the state in A/AA and AAA. Seems like kind of a strange number to me. I was just wondering if the rankings went to 15 what teams do you think would be included. Yossarian
The reason that it is 11 teams is that Berry Redmond (Redmond Cup) started doing rankings by polling coaches some time in the early 90's. He did the top 11. Of course back then there was only one division not seperate classes. Anyway when they started doing it on soccerinfo they honered him by doing the eleven. Yossarian
It might be right that it started because there are 11 on the field but Redmond used 11 and so that is why on soccerinfo.com they decided to use 11 and call it the redmond eleven.
