Montgomery Central scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st when Michael Disney was hit by a pitch and driven in on HR by Daniel Baggett to LC. Marshall Co. tied the game at 2 all in the top of the 3rd when Jeremy Reynolds was hit by a pitch, Brian Calderaro singled to RC, and they both were driven in on a double by Ryan Tietgens to LC when the ball took an unnatural bounce over the LF's out-stretched hand. Central scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd when Casey Gunter singled to deep short, Michael Disney walked, and Daniel Baggett hit his 2nd HR to LC. Marshall left 6 runners on base - 2 in scoring position. Central left 2 runners on base - both in scoring position.

 

This game was very similiar to the Page game on Monday where once again 2 HR's win the game for Central, but this time runners were on base at the time. Gunter pitched well getting the low strike call and really McKay pitched well also except for the HR pitches. Central will host Jackson South Side on Friday at 7:00 while Marshall travels to Milan - time unknown.

 

I tell you what JSS, if you don't match Central's HR's, you wll lose. You better bring your long ball bats.

 

The Jackson Sun reports the start time of the Marshall Co. at Milan Sectional game as 3:00.

Montgomery Central got the big hit when they needed it and Lewisburg didn't. Simple as that. Good luck to both teams tomorrow.

I tried to help Marshall as best I could, tnfisher, but it was not enough. I don't think Coach Monk read my emails, but that probably wouldn't have helped anyway. Montgomery Central is hot. They have hit HR's in every game I've seen them play. I'll be at Friday's game in Cunningham to see if that trend continues. It's too far for me to drive to Milan, but I'll be supporting them from a distance.
