2005 Warrior Spring Classic

The dates for the 2005 Warrior Spring Classic have been set for Thursday, March 31st thru Sunday, April 3rd.

 

Invitations will be mailed soon.

 

The 2004 Warrior Spring Classic was the biggest and most successful in its 11 years of existence. It featured a 32-team field, with 6 of the 8 2003 AAA State Tournament participants, as well as one 2003 state-tournament-qualifier from AA, A and Division II. The field included now-two-time state champion Farragut, 2004 A state champion Goodpasture, 2004 tournament member Collierville, perennial power Germantown and 2004 Classic champion Germantown Houston. It also featured the historic first-ever meeting between Forrest and Marshall County. The bracket and the program may be found on the internet at

The 2005 Spring Classic hopes to expand once again and will include teams from outside the state of Tennessee. Alabama state-tournament regulars and rivals Cullman and Hartselle have committed to coming as well as a school from Toledo, Ohio. We also hope to have a team or two from Georgia and Kentucky as well as several participants in the 2004 Tennessee state tournament.

 

One of the reasons the Classic continues to grow is the fact that the vast majority of teams that participate always return year after year because of the great facilities, competition, umpiring, scout attendance (the 2004 Classic’s guestbook was signed by scouts and coaches from over two dozen different organizations or schools) and the fun atmosphere. 20 of the 24 teams from 2003 returned in 2004. Due to this, slots are limited.

Juliet Bears, Northwest Vikings, Oakland Patriots Indians, Richland Raiders, Riverdale Warriors, Rossview Hawks, Shelbyville Golden Eagles, Smyrna Bulldogs, Warren County Pioneers, and White House Blue Devils.

i guess powers thinks its funny sticking us with farragut every year

If I do remember correctly.......Oakland handed Farragut 1 of its 2 defeats in this tourney last year........ .......but the earlier post fron David was correct....this is an excellent tourney with tremendous facilities, friendly hosts, and above average competition. This tourney is an great early season tune-up....if your team is able you should attend.

i realize that oakland defeated farragut last year in this tournament, but oakland needed their ace pitcher to do so and i think farragut had their #4 or 5 out there, so luck had a big thing to do with that one
