U of Wisconsin Clinic in AL

Coach Barry Davis and the University of Wisconsin staff have graciously arranged to come down for a 1-day pre-season clinic in Birmingham next Saturday (October 16). As most of you know, former 4x Alabama State Champion Seth Garvin is now on the roster at Wisconsin having signed a scholarship after last season. When talking to Coach Davis back in April, he agreed that there is a lot of talent in the Southeast region that goes unnoticed and unappreciated --- and therefore careers end in obscurity without opportunity. Some of the best Tennessee and Georgia wrestlers have gone on to make names for themselves at higher profile schools. Now we have the good fortune of Terry Brands coming to UTC, Tom Brands now at Virginia Tech, Cary Kolat at the University of North Carolina, and several others on the move, so more schools are starting to notice the potential we have down here. Whatever gives our kids opportunities that were once unavailable or even long-since forgotten, is a plus for our sport.

 

All ages/levels are welcome. You are encouraged to bring a workout partner of compatible skill/weight.
