Westmoreland will win the district but with some resistance. The race for second is up for grabs. Friendship, Van Buren, Gordonsville, and Trousdale Co. will all be strong comin into the district tourn. and will be fightin for a spot in the region.

I've said before that Westmoreland has to be the favorite because they have yet to be beat. However, several teams have played them close in the district this year. There is no dominant team that just blows everyone else off the court. That is a testament to how well Westmoreland has played. Should be an interesting tournament. If Friendship is hitting their shots and play a little defense, they could win. Gordonsville just seems to play everyone tought. If Van Buren plays aggressive D and protects the ball they have a great opportunity. Trousdale has been down this year, but Potts always has them ready come tournament time. They have won it the past two years so their players know what it takes to get the job done. They are a scary draw for someone. Looking forward to the games getting started. thumb

First round of districts held at higher seeds home court. The rest are at Watertown. I think the regions are held at Upperman High School. They just built a new school and I hear the gym is nice. thumb

Right now there is a 3 way tie for second between Friendship, Gordonsville, and Van Buren. Friendship goes to Westmoreland tonight and will probably come out with a loss which would put them back in fourth. Whoever has the 2 seed in the district will have it tough because they will play Trousdale in the first round. A good team may go home early!

Westmoreland played very well once again last night...beating FC by 17. The JV played very well, played most of the fourth quarter. If the guys keep playing like this, a home sub-state game is likely.
