No Banquest for District 7A

Who made the decision not to have the football banquet this year for District 7A.  This district consists of Clay, Pickett, Jackson, and Monterey?  Why was this decision made?  Never thought I would see the day that a district couldn't support each other.  Are we upset because Monterey made it to the playoffs for the first time in 81 years.  I would think that this would be a great time to show some respect to a team that has made history. These players deserve no less respect than players from other teams.  It would appear that every coach voted against it with the exception of Monterey who has participated and paid their part in the banquet for years.  Even years when they had no players receive awards.  You would think that the other schools would have supported a team that has lost its school had no practice or weight facilities.  Practiced on a softball field and lifted weights in back of a grocery store.  I am ashamed to be from the Blue Devil nation right now.  I am not disappointed in the boys on the team but the administration that participated in this lop sided decision.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.

    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
