  1. Bolton's personnel may be the worst I've ever seen. They look like a jv squad.
  2. I think the real problem is the administration there. They get coach after coach and either they can't win or they get one who can and make him leave. By process of elimination, I think the real problem there is the person ultimately in charge of making those decisions. It shows me they don't know their head from a horse's arse. Something's gotta change at the top or maybe the people there just settle for less than mediocrity.
  3. I hope this is an attempt at comedy, because if it is, it's a good one.
  4. There was plenty of time that had passed after the initial 2 players from both teams had gotten into it. What clearly set off the chain reaction was the Munford coach getting in the Cordova players face and putting his hands on him. Cordova players and coaches only jumped in after this act. I was there and saw the whole thing. When the 2 kids were separated at the beginning everything would have been fine if the hot headed coach would have stayed under control and not have retaliated and tried to one up the kid.
  5. I said 5 ft not yds and I even won't go into kick stepping. Obviously with your 2 total posts you are a Munfordian putting the blame on Cordova. However, I am blaming both. The young Munford coach made a mistake as well as the Cordova coaches by lack of immediate action. There was a lack of control by both. Heck, you couldn't even tell who the head coaches were on either team. It seemed like nobody was able to step up and take control until the kids got all of the fight out of their systems. I think the TSSAA needs to step in here and review the scrimmage tapes and determine if they need to deal with both of these schools. It just upsets me that this puts an even uglier black eye on Memphis area football. It's already a joke to the rest of the state and this type of incident makes it even worse. It's all around sad. I'm not sure if Bellevue would want to welcome teams back to a place where this type of thing shouldn't even remotely be an issue.
  6. I'm not real sure how a coach is protecting his player by jumping in the opposing kids face and yelling "Why, why, why, why, why!!" How about just pulling the kids apart and separating them. It just showed alot of immaturity and unprofessionalism as well as instigation in my opinion even from a young coach. What they should have been doing is protecting the quarterback. After 35 years of coaching I've never seen a team, spread or otherwise (Texas Tech included), that had darn near 5 ft line splits. When there is a track meet to the QB on every play, it's time to cut them down where the linemen can get a chest punch on those guys shootin gaps unless you want your QB murdered.
  7. I haven't been to Milan since the Tucker days. I look forward to catching a game this year.
  8. Any college prospects coming out of Brownsvillle this year?
  9. It just seems to me that this is primarily just a money maker for Franklin to capitalize on while the spread is hot. From what coaches I've talked say, the system may be a little complex for high school kids. Chime in if I'm wrong.
  10. Did anyone else see this embarrassing melee between Cordova and Munford? I saw the young Munford line coach get in the face and holler at a Cordova player and the next thing you know, all heck broke loose. Every player from both teams, coaches, spectators were all in the middle of the field throwing fists, kicking, tackling, and slinging helmets. It went on til they were too tired to fight. From where I was sitting on the sideline I could see a Munford player that was getting stomped and beat half to death get up and run to the endzone and throw a lady's chair and holler profanities. It was outta control. I feel sorry for Bellevue Baptist Church as this took place on their soccer field right next to the interstate. I don't think I've ever witnessed anything quite like it.
  11. Too bad Henry doesn't have Munford still on the schedule. The new staff is a joke. Players don't have to lift weights unless they feel like it, the new coach is trying to be friends with the players instead of discipling them, etc. Henry could put 80 on them next year. What a joke. This makes the 5th coach under Marshal. This one won't last 2 seasons. I wonder what the problem is the coaches or the principal(duh)?
  12. This could be one of the most ignorant posts I've ever seen on here. How many downs of football have u ever played? Do you understand football or just follow the ball around on the tv screen? Your post is like me saying since Henry County got beat in their last game that the coaches are terrible and can't coach or the players stunk for that one game. I can tell you from playing at all levels and coaching for almost 30 years that Monte Kiffin is regarded as one of the greatest D coordinators that ever lived (top 2 or 3). Name 2 or 3 other D coordinators that went that long with such a consistent level of defensive greatness without a down cycle. As for Orgeron, he is a highly sought after defensive line coach(I have heard the top one from several) and top 5 recruiter. If you have ever seen him at a clinic you would see why. Don't forget Nutt was winning with his players. Some guys are much better position coaches and coordinators. There are just so many guys that can transfer that into great head coaches but that does not mean they aren't good coaches altogether. Rod Marinelli at Detroit is considered by Tony Dungy as one of the top coaches he has ever worked with and the guy went 0-16 this year. Unreal.
  13. That program will go back to winning 2 games a year tops without Randall. Marshall has hired a coach every two or so years so who do you think is the problem there? Isn't he responsible for making the hires? The guy is an idiot. They don't even have a third of the talent there that they had when Marshall was the HC. As for Johnson, that's laughable. The freshmen team couldn't even line up right much less compete. It has been a major drop off from developing the players and just pure football knowledge since Criswell and Fisher left.
  14. I have no doubt that Munford will be prepared as possible and fight hard. It should be a good close game.
  15. The talent disparity is like Alabama verse Memphis. If Munford could pull it off, I'd say Randall should take Fulmer's spot.
