We have to make it out of the Barn in Loretto first. Last game in "The Barn" so you know it will be a crazy atmosphere. Not to mention Loretto has a really good team. Gonna be an exciting few days for the young Raiders.

This didn’t age well... pretty sure the Raiders proved everything they needed to tonight.. The raiders have been plagued with the flu bug for almost 2 weeks.. no excuses but it is what it is .. they’re 3-1 with the flu and missing starters.. they might not be top 5 ( we will find out at east Robertson) but they walk away tonight as season d10 champs .. now just gotta be healthy in the tournament and show out..Best of luck to the Cats..

Both City and Richland dropping district contests on Tuesday.. Leaves City and Huntland tied in D9 and Richland / Santa Fe tied in D10.. Wayne Co my still have some say in how the regular season standings end up. but most would see Tuesdays SF/Richland game being for the regular season crown. City and Huntland will play next friday which could also be the deciding game. However , Huntland has a big district test tonight with MC..

City game is a no go .. Rumor has it that the Raiders will travel to East Robertson Feb 11 to make that one up.. Current #3 vs #4 in the AP..

Richland and Fayetteville both make it thru unscathed the first time thru the district schedule. Santa Fe and Wayne Co tied for 2nd in D10 Huntland and MC currently 2&3 in D9. The surprise from that side is Eagleville currently in 4th..

I think there’s 3 maybe 4 teams that can play with anyone . East Robertson and Fayetteville would be a game I’d pay to watch. Haven’t seen Clay or McKenzie or some of the other top teams so it’s hard to say, but I think those top 4 teams. In region 5 gonna make some noise

Both Richland and Fayetteville took big steps last night with their wins.. I still think D9 is a 3 horse race with City, Eagleville, and Huntland.. Moore Co should round out the district on that side.. Richland has a little easier path to the top with a win against WC.. Santa Fe May be the only other team to give them a game.. This region tournament will be a fun one.. May see 2 teams from Region 5 in the Boro

Nothing against the Eagles, but if Richland plays even a little in the second half this one wouldn't have been close. Been waiting for an off night with these youngsters and it just happened to be last night. Could make a ton of excuses but the Raiders just flat got out played... Still see Richland at the top of district 10 when the smoke clears.. just not clear on who's going To be in second. I believe it'll be between WC and SF..Don't see anyone else making that move. D9 is a different story. I have been able to see them all in person except for Cville.. Right now id have to go with Huntland but they'll only go as far as Phillips takes them. Still believe in City even though they seem to be struggling early on..I think MC Cville and Eagleville may battle for the rest..

Quite thread thus far.. Richland and Wayne Co off to a good start in D10 , along with Slaughter from Santa Fe (dropping almost 40 a game) Cwood seems to have trouble thus far to go along with Cully and Hampshire Eagleville looks pretty tough. Haven’t seen City with their entire team yet so still don’t know . No clue about MC Cornville and Huntland have had bright spots but not impressive just yet

Depends on which Richland shows up.. first 5 game Richland was pretty good on defense and good on offense.. last 5 game Richland couldn’t stop anybody but the offense was still good enough to win. 2 different 2 point conversions are the difference in us playing at home vs traveling to Lewis county .

From where I was standing I thought he was in for the 2 pt.. Didn’t realize it was incomplete. Can see it on xsports.. Y’all go to Riverside next week and get that W. Pretty good offense y’all have . Anything can happen.

Don’t get the Generals hopes up. However I do agree that he may be a better fit on the northern end of the county.. The way Stown is growing they could easily move to 3a. next cycle.

Not to wish any bad luck to the football team but I'm hoping they're all back and ready by the 29th. Gonna make the long trip over on a tuesday to see what my raiders have this year. Be a great early test for these youngsters.

I hope you are right. With so many years of seeing a decent start and a huge fall , its hard to be optimistic. Still gonna ride with em this week and all the weeks to follow regardless. It would be a welcome change to see them finish this thing out and have momentum headed into the playoffs. 27-20 Raiders

I’d have to do a little research my self but I’m fairly confident we’ve only had 3-4 winning seasons since the late 90’s.. prior to that (I’m talking ‘82-‘95 Richland was one of the top single A teams.(at least a couple playoff wins each year) but at that time Giles County didn’t have much coaching so several athletes would move schools to play.. Now that scenario changed early 2000’s and Giles was getting anybody that could play .. So 5-2 is exciting for Raider fans .. Me included.. This most recent escapade included a few players going on a “beach” trip during the week and missing practices during the week.. Now don’t get me wrong (as others have) I’m a firm believer in , if you don’t practice you don’t play.. I just think that ALL the ones missing should have to sit ..

Easy big fella.. I think you have a huge misconception about my comments. First , I don’t have kids playing in the program anymore ,but I have followed and supported every coach in school history.. ( honestly didn’t get to know a couple one and dones). This program is actually rich in football tradition, however most of that is from 1979 to around 1995 ish.. Those early coaches had very strict rules about practice and outside events other than football. Now I can speak on the current problem (as I see it). If it’s true , and it usually is .. that 4 boys went together and came back together but only 3 got to play (each in a different qtr) that’s my issue completely .,( aside from the fact that we shouldn’t have a bye in week 2 with a fall break scheduled) rules are an essential part of any sport the problem with today’s society is that rules are only good if they are the same for each and every player regardless of talent level.. I can recall a game against an undefeated Spring Hill (mid 90’s) that the coach sat the QB and the 2 best defenders for a non football related issue.. there were no outcries then because the rules had been broken.. and to my knowledge that rule was never broken again while said coach was there.. but had that coach played those 3 and sat 1 then the rule is only as good as the paper it’s written on. Because I bleed orange and black and have since the inception of the school I do support even if I don’t agree. I do hope this is a turn around kinda year and the raiders can walk the town with pride for a while,these kids deserve that with the amount of time and dedication it takes now. And I hope all the info is wrong because it would be nice to see a good and disciplined program again . Just can’t see that yet, especially when coaches are at each other during and after the game for decisions not game related..

Lol.. yeah .. actually they are very competitive in every other sport.. basketball coach has been there 15 plus years , baseball coach has been there 20 plus..

Not sold on a “renewed” program yet. We’ve played and beaten 1 team over .500.: Was it a fluke game for them ? Record wise it’s an exciting time but if you really look at it we are average in a below average year. I think the pizza patriot may have had it pegged weeks ago. Should be a good match for Eli..

One of my all time favorite football movie quotes .. “attitude reflects leadership”.. wasn’t in the huddles or in behind any closed doors .. but when several kids are away for an amount of time yet end up playing differently upon returning that’s the issue.. even coaches were at odds during and afterward.. if there’s a rule it has to be a rule for all. Not lighter on a kid or two who you think can save your game
