One of the best Friday night games I've seen on a Thursday night (what's all this changing around about. did hear from local paper, Viking former coach set it up a year ago for Thursday night?? Why?) Northwest Vikings vs Northeast Eagles OT with Vikings winning (20-17)...WHAT ABOUT THAT GOAL LINE DEFENSE. Huge win for the Mighty Vikings! So proud of NWHS. Great game by Northeast too. Both teams have had a rough couple of years, but they played like good, solid programs tonight.

Northwest vs Northeast moved to Thursday night. GO VIKINGS!

AP has turf. Watch out for Rossview...they are ridin' high after beatin' CHS! Since my team is playing Thursday night (due to TV coverage?) Northwest vs Northeast....we might just ride on over and see what the Hawks can do against the PATS Friday night. Good question on why the schools cannot use AP, guess there are just too darn many of us.

How very true, even down to the 'lost socks"......May God light their paths as they continue in life's wonderful journey. We are truly blessed.

I have heard that the Jackets will be a team to deal with in the next few years. Coach Myers and Sutherland are both great coaches as well, lots different personalities from Offutt. I think among these 3 guys, they've settled into the right places. Good luck Jackets. I enjoy seeing different teams than the usual making a go of things in the region. Yikes, tuned into the Titans....A nasty game with a nasty score.

If a fan wants to blow their horn, they should be made to wear a band uniform, tall feather hat and all! Plum rude..... I've been to another area game where the guy pumped a trumpet all 1st half (in opposing team's stand)was asked to go to his side 2nd half. It's a wonder he wasn't booted across the field.

Offutt is a class act and somebody the Viking team respects. He is top knotch for the Northwest program and LESS ego that what the team has had the past 2 seasons. He is about team, not himself.

I WOULD HAVE TO SAY, I WAS VERY CAUTIOUS ON COACH SCHRENK.... but what he and the D-coordinator have done thsi year is great...but even more the kids are playing better together than any year i have seen in the past...this is truely team ball....great game Lions keep on trucking as (Huff and Puff) would say... Yes, TEAM ball being the key word. Sounds like your D-coordinator is doing a fantastic job of coaching that part of the game. Glad your team is having a successful year....just don't let Schrenk take the full credit for that....it's those boys that get out there and play the play, on every TEAM. Sometimes these coaches tend to want to shine the brightest.

Congrats to Coach Schrenk on your awesome year. We're glad you found your way to Cannon County. I think that is a much better fit for you as a coach.....obviously your record (and Northwest's current record) reflect that.

Simply an attempt at humor...you need to lighten up. There are no excuses for what happened Saturday night. Clarksville outplayed our team and deserved to win. Saturday night is reserved for college football. They could have played on Friday night and they should have played on Friday night, but playing on Saturday had nothing to do with the game's outcome. Ha Ha! Funny stuff. I'm lightened up... Good! I am glad that I helped you to "lighten up". Just enjoy the win...it was a good one. Me, enjoy the win....why I back one of CHS's cross town rivals, Northwest! But, glad the Wildcats beat the Red Machine. Always good to see of our own beat an out of towner! Overconfident being key word! I posted a few weeks back not to "overlook opponets" by the Pats and was scolded for suggesting that. I also think CHS just beat the Big Red Machine....plain and simple... and defeat is a bitter pill to swallow when you're sitting at #1. As far as a Saturday night game, shouldn't be any different to the players on the field. They should have no mindset about what day of the week it is....speaking of illegal, that rude horn man from HC tooting his loud horn should be a crime. Give me a break about the Saturday night issue. What difference should that make? It was a great high school football game by the CHS Wildcats and staff which beat the Henry County Patriots and staff....simple as that

Both teams are playing tough! This will be a battle of the coaches as well. For me, I'm pushing for the Vikings defense to be the stinger in this one. HOLD EM' D. VIKINGS STAY TOUGH.

Yes, He has been terrific for our program. He is coaching for the boys, the team. He is not in it for himself like so many others. We are glad he chose Northwest as a new home. We play Springfield Friday with our old coach, Myers. Should be a good game.

Understanding completely, we had many (even in their Senior year) who would not play for a coach last year. I know that is not the way to deal with it many times, but this guy was so ego driven that it took the love of the game from so many. I, for one, am thankful that he is gone. Anymore, these football coaches get on their own pedestal so often....they forget they are coaching boys that simply love the game and want to play as a team. Yes, it's great when certain people can go on and play in college or whatever, but these coaches don't understand just exactly how these boys need them to generate a team effort, NOT just focusing in on certain players, or their own ego. Good luck to your team, with TEAM being the key word. Again, great group of fans and NICE stadium. Thanks for the visit.

I don't know about all that, but Northwest looked tough last night. We are proud of our boys. We've also been on the losing end such as your situation. I'm so proud the old coach moved south to Cannon Co. **Our new head coach, Offut, has come in and been such a positive for our team total effort . It is TEAM effort, I do agree with you on that one. It will settle in down that way in Rebel football, but you have GREAT facility and beautiful high school....you should be proud of that.

Forget the team, I love the horn man! Cmon' CHS, show em' a game, hometown Clarksville is just waiting on somebody to beat em'. Pats...you deserve a pat, you are a good football team. Way to spice the season up as always. Hoping for an injury free Friday for all players.
