  1. Well, Mr. Tate was the entire JPII team, the offense especially. If he had an off game at all, it was over for them. You can't expect him to play 15 amazing games...but yes, he is an amazing play, as are the other players mentioned on here.
  2. Congrats to Shiverdecker on the Mr. Football award...somehow I think either Fisher or Sykes got robbed with Donald getting the lineman award. Fisher and Sykes both give offenses fits trying to gameplan around them. The top 2 lineman in 2A ( I don't care who won Mr. Football) will be on the field friday night. Goodpasture has to control the ball and keep the clock moving. They can't afford to turn the ball over against a team of this caliber. This one should be a barnburner.
  3. Some have said D 1 caliber, but doesnt get alot of attention because of the other 6 backs.
  4. Goodpastures biggest problem for this game may be that they arent used to playing teams with as much if not more speed than them, and the size that Alcoa brings to the table. I know GP is a great team, and so is Alcoa. I'm hoping for a really good game this time around. Goodpasture will have to come up with a way to stop either Shiverdecker or the passing game and be able to focus on the other. Alcoa has the speed to hang with GP, but they will also have to remember that GP's backs range from big and physical to smaller and very quick. Medley may be the best all-around back that the Cougars have, bout 6'1 probably about 200-205 lbs. of sheer power, and very good acceleration and speed. If they can find a good balance of run and pass, they may be able to keep the Alcoa defense off balance. Lets hope for a good clean, injury free game!
  5. Little update for you guys, Sam is now at home with his grandfather, brother and mother. He did break his pelvis and both bones in his right arm, and also sprained his right ankle very badly. He and his brother, Chris are dealing with the death of his dad better than their mom is, so we need to keep her in our prayers too. The doctors said Sam would be back in school after Christmas break. Thank you all for your prayers and concerns, God Bless.
  6. All that matters....is what happens friday night...
  7. Only reason he says this is because Alcoa lost to Fulton and GP beat Lipscomb...so it would look bad if Lipscomb won...not that it matters, because the only game that matters for us is GP Alcoa
  8. Wait....what...a sensible alcoa fan... just kidding guys, alcoa has a right to be cocky, they are darn good
  9. A Goodpasture students father will killed last night in an accident on Vietnam Veterans Blvd. Sam Buchanan was in the car with his dad, and ruptured his spleen, and broke his pelvis and his arm. Sams older brother Chris graduated from GP last year, and is playing basketball at Lee University. Please keep this family in your prayers. God Bless.
  10. Yea, we do...no lie there. Gonna be a good game...
  11. So...Goodpasture plays CPA in week ten and beats them by 14, rolls through Adamsville and Lewis county, beats CPA again by 13 this time, and beats a very good Milan team by 13....and didn't have a good playoff run yet? I'm not gonna make a prediction...because I don't have any clue who will win. But I'm pulling for GP
  12. In reply to this, I'll apologize for what I said that offened you...whatever it may be. Yea, Goodpastures a good team, but so is Alcoa everyone knows it. And heck, SC and Milan both have to be darn good to get as far as they did. I meant no disrespect to anyone, I was just simply making a statement in return to something someone else said to me. For all I know, we could get beat worse by Alcoa this year than we did last year, and for all I know we could beat them.
  13. I wasn't at the game, so I can't say anything about cheap shots or not...but here's what I have heard....that both seems played their hearts out, and left it all on the field for the game. GP, ya'll won, your off to play Alcoa, get ready for that game, quit complaining about the game you have already won. Seems GP played a very good Milan team, which game GP a run for their money early but just made some mistakes. Now, I don't really care who won at the moment, but since it was GP I say go knock Alcoa of that mountian they sit on....and I woulda said the same thing if Milan had won it.
  14. We will see come next friday night wont we....but your entitled to your opinion and I am to mine
  15. Goodpasture beat JPII(Golden Tate) this year...a darn good Div. II team....I don't think GP would have a problem...but we don't recruit...so it doesn't matter....
  16. Don't count on it....good game....I'm not picking a winner yet...but I bet we play alot closer than SC did...and maybe beat em....
  17. Thanks...people have talked about him as a possible D1 prospect...but doesn't get as much attention with so many backs this year....
  18. Wow, let's complain some more. Being from GP, I'm sure you say we recruit...blah blah blah...and all that. I'm a Sr. I have some shcool spirit. And I can tell you of the 19 Srs. on our team...16 of em have been going to school here since 7th grade...It's like that through the whole school. People come here because of the school....it'd be a terrible day when you lie to win football games...so stink it up and stop complaining about it.
  19. So...really either A. Learn to type B. Learn proper English or C. Don't talk anymore.
  20. Just on a wonder, how many TD's did Shantz Medley have....RB #38 I think from GP?
  21. As i've said...as a GP fan I have nothin but respect for Alcoa...a school rich in tradition...and darn good every year it seems...
