  1. Really...like I said...they just don't like being beat...and they are sore losers...gotta hate it in HS football...
  2. He said the better team won..he just says they cheat to win...Alcoa is good...end of story I love how people cant accpet good teams...for example Alcoa or Goodpasture...they're both better than you...end of story
  3. Heard some kid from GP, Medley or somethin, had like 4 TDs?
  4. Which would mean you expected Goodpasture(a mid-state team) to beat Milan? ever with the "nothing would make me happier than if no midstate team got past tonight" statement?
  5. Lets hope for a good one, injury free as always...but I gotta add.... GO COUGARS!!!!!!!!!
  6. Coming from a GP fan, I don't see how anyone can't respect Alcao, 2 time defending champs, not a big school...but just seem to reload all the time. I think GP has earned some respect this year, and will give Alcoa a much better game than last year, I will guarantee that....
  7. It's like Alcoa just reloads year in and year out...a darn good team...
  8. Someones apparently a very sore loser...and another Goodpasture hater...just because they are better than you...dont hate....
  9. Goodpastures Defense has improved in leaps and bounds from last year, and improved every game this year. The D line is a very physical line, both for GP and Alcoa, as is the O line for both teams. Goodpastures 7 backs all compliment each other, but Shiverdecker is one heck of a back, prolly the best in 2A...I can't wait for this one...great game coming!
  10. Lets just hope GP can pull off the gold ball this year
  11. congrats to Alcoa. Goodpasture-Alcoa coming up...lets get ready to rumble!
  12. The matchup everyone has been waiting for all year...both teams are very good...Alcoa has the "To be the best you gotta beat the best/beast" attitude, and are more than likely intitled to it, as they are a very good team again this year. Goodpasture has not yet tasted defeat, and they sure don't wanna start now. I'm already seeing a great game next week in the Buro...not the same game as last year...I can't make a prediction on this one yet...
  13. what was the final? final to GP-Milan was 34-21
  14. So, what will be the big differance maker in this game? My personal opinion is experiace acctualy. Most of the guys from GP played in this same situation last year..and pulled out a victory...which they were not favored to do, same as Milan isn't favord this week. I think the fact that they know what it takes to win a game like this, and having done it just last year gives them a little edge. They know they can win the close games, ex. JPII and DL, two very very good teams. Outside of that, I'd say turnovers. Whoever can capitolize on the others mistakes will be looking very good. I don't know much about milan, but Goodpasture doesn't make too many mistakes, and do not turn the ball over that often. They're backs have very sure hands and carry the ball well, and they're recievers are very good as well. The QB can throw the ball, and has good percentages, just doesn't get all the recognition because we don't throw alot. The 7RB's is another key here. You have the classic smashmouth backs, the ones that run you over, and the backs that will make you miss, and then are off the races. It's very tough to adjust to that. My pick: GP: 28 Milan: 10
  15. duece makes a very good point there...I don't think GP has overlooked anyone all season, from Lipscomb to FRA, from JPII to Harpeth they've played their game every week, and come out on top. And, in reply to earlier, I wasn't questioning GP's passing game at all, but I"m saying if they get into a postition of having to throw the ball, we could see more turnoveres than we are use to from not throwing much now. its just gonna happen somtimes
  16. If Goodpasture can avoid any big mistakes, and keep the clock moving with the running game, I think that they have a very good shot at winning this game. However, if they fall behind, and have to use the passing attack more than usual, it could spell problems for the cougars. I think about midway through the first half is when we will see the rushing attack from Goodpasture really explode, when they are able to wear down Milans line. The cougars offensive line is much more sized like a college line, minus the center, who is 6'2, 235. Everyone else is 6'1 and at least 270 pounds I'm sure. They are men playing among boys for the most part. I think this should be a good game to watch, and really see two classy teams battle for the right to go to the Buro. Good luck to both teams, hoping for an injury free game. God Bless!
  17. Coming from a GP fan,/student, I'm hoping for the game of the year in 2A thus far..and think that we could very possibly see it. Goodpastures typical smash-mouth offense can be balanced with a decent passing game, they just haven't had to use the passing game that much this year. Goodpasture wins game in the trenches with their line...Offensive line: Lance Locke - Senior - 6'3'' - 285 lbs Quinton Groves - Senior - 6'0'' - 270 lbs David McClurkan - Senior - 6'2'' - 235 lbs Mark Fisher - Senior - 6'5'' - 285 lbs Wilson Emebunor - Junior - 6'4'' 300 lbs To quote Golden Tate of JPII "Them some big ole boys". These guys can open up holes for their SEVEN running backs to go through. Through the regular season this year, Goodpastures backs had rusehd for over 3,000 combined yards, not counting the last three playoff games...I think that's pretty impressive. When they do pass, the QB has excellent protection, and lots of time to get the ball off. He had a few mistakes agianst a very good CPA defense, but GP's D stood strong and held them on those turnovers. Goodpastures Defensive line is just as impressive...considering almost all of them play both ways. The linebacker's for GP are fast and smart, and get to the ball in a hurry, and man, do they hit hard. The secondary is good as well, not as fast as some others I'm sure, but they get the job done. They play smart ball, don't let people behind them, and are very good at being in the right position. I think they had 2 or 3 picks last night on one of the best QB's in 2A, Lowery from CPA. All this said, I don't think Milan can hold GP's high octane offense to less that 4 scores, and I think that GP's Defense will answer the call again. GP-35 Milan-21
  18. And one more quick thing here...CPA is a private school just like GP is a private school....so you may wanna rethink that last line there...just a thought...
  19. I sure hope you are aware that the game could have been a whole lot worse than it was. Goodpasture was the better team, thats the end of that story, and all of the talk from LC players/fans or whomever it was didn't make GP not want to rub it in a little bit...might take that into consideration next time you play...next season that is since your season is over. Go talk to some Adamsville players and fans and see what they have to say about our sportsmanship...I believe that they think very highly of us...and we beat them alot worse than we beat ya'll. I don't seem to remember the starters going in all too often once they were taken out either...at least not the full starting team, maybe a few players, but thats gonna happen. To everyone from LC, minus panther that is, ya'll had a great season and a darn good football team, keep up the hard work and we hope to see you again next year!
  20. Lemme guess...because they're private schools right....the kids go out there and put on the pads just like everyone else...and beat them too...end of story
  21. Well, outside of the first few posts on here, it's been a very good thread, whoever started this is just an idiot. I'm also from a GP, a fan not a player, but I know full well that no true GP or CPA fan would do that. Both teams have class and good sportsmanship. As far as I can remember, no one has really complained about either school all year, and like it was said earlier, whoever posted this had no idea what he was talking about. I'm sure last night was an emotional night, and hats off to Lewis County and Camden on two good seasons, and alot of hard work, well all know you'll come back next year ready to go again. But now, on to the game at hand, the rematch from week 10. The last game these two played was fairly competitive for awhile, it really just shut down once GP got up by two TD's and managed to hold onto that lead. CPA's QB is the best in 2A, and a nightmare for defenses. Goodpasture has alot of team speed on both sides of the ball however, so that makes for an interesting matchup. We know both teams are coming out motivated, playing for what they've worked for all season. This one is going to be a barn burner, if ya'll don't have anything to do next Friday and are fairly close to GP, you should come out and watch two very good HS football teams play what will be one heck of a game. I think this game stay close until close to the 4th quarter when GP's line really wears down the D-line from CPA. If that happens, I think GP can pull away somewhat, but still win it in a close game. GP 35 CPA 24 Good luck to both teams, and congratulations on great seasons so far.
  22. Hmm..thanks for the random Alcoa fan interjection there. I think CPA comes out very motivated for this game after a tough loss a few weeks ago, and GP comes out knowing that. I see this one being a pretty close game this time, just because emotions are running high on both ends, for all the Srs on both teams, this is potentionaly the last game they will play. I think GP's overall team speed will be the deciding factor in this game. GP 35 CPA 24
  23. Amen to that, everyone have a safe trip wherever they may be going, and no serious injuries either! And now...it's really playoff time in Tennessee
