  1. i agree with sharpshooter, this should be closer than most people expect. oakdale has nothing to lose and coalfield will be looking to get revenge from last year. there is no clear winner right now.
  2. if no one cares then why did you even post a thread on this board you d a. if all you have to do is bash other schools then your a bigger loser than any team in any region.
  3. they have gotten better, but we gave them too many opportunities. we had WAY TOO MANY turnovers, our defense was slacking and when they jumped on us we pretty much gave up. or so it seemed. if we don't get our crap together by next week we're in for a big disappointment. by the way, does anyone know what the school record for the farthest punt is?
  4. exactly, i agree with platepresser 100%. our team goals begin tonight. a win tonight will give us enough momentum to beat some teams in the second half of the season.
  5. thanx for the info brian. them saying that will only make us play harder. we've studied tape and practiced hard this week. i feel that we have the upper hand, but (as everyone knows) anything can happen. as for all-county honors, i'll try my best and what happens, happens. take care.
  6. one more day til oakdale goes to cak. any last predictions. [Edited by shermdogg on 10-4-02 8:46A]
  7. no offense, but your numbers don't match.......wouldn't it be 28-14
  8. o.k., here it is, the day before the cak-oakdale game. after a week of practice both teams are ready for each other. the difference: one team wants it more. i don't know about cak, but oakdale is pumped up and ready for this game. both teams have seen tape of last week and oakdale cak didn't really impress us. however, we have to be ready for different offensive sets and for their passing offense. oakdale has the size advantage (not in numbers), but we all know that size doesn't win a ballgame. anything can happen. good luck to both teams.
  9. fair warning, if you make them look too bad they will vandelize the locker room. when we beat them, they took the liberty of ###### in the girls locker room lockers. it didn't bother us one bit, but it might bother boyd
  10. thanx for the insight goosevol and kingbrian. i agree with DP, when the ball goes in the air it makes for a much better game. for whom it will benefit, we will have to see friday night. like i said before it is going to be a good game, and the fact that it is district makes it all the more exciting.
  11. by the way, thanx for the comment on the punt
  12. because you picked lookout valley to beat us. nothing personal though. thanks for the post. talk to ya later
  13. i just wanted to get some predictions on the oakdale-cak game coming up this friday. last year, oakdale beat cak at home. cak is well coached and oakdale is coming off of a win against lookout valley. oakdale is looking to establish their first winning streak in a few years. good luck to both teams.
  14. i really can't side on the coalfield-greenback game. coalfield has a lot of skill people, but greenback has a lot of speed. greenback also carries out their blocks very well. i think it'll come down to who gets the momentum early in the game. good luck to both teams.
  15. with celina, we weren't ready for what they threw at us. we were expecting them to run the ball less and throw the ball more. when our defense started slacking it started bringing down our offense. we pretty much fell apart on the field. this week, we are gonna try to turn things around. we have learned from last week and we will not make the same mistakes. we are gonna come out strong and remain strong through the whole game. not to mention that the game is in the eagles' nest. this should be a pretty good game. i think that oakdale will win, but i'm not sure what the margin will be.
  16. i just wanted you to know that there was no disrespect taken. i appreciate your words of advice though. this being the first game, i don't think that the bus ride is goin to keep us from getting pumped for the game. we've worked hard and everyone is ready to see some of the hard work pay off.
  17. oakdale didn't play in any jamboree. oakdale also scrimmaged taft the week before. oakdale won that scrimmage, but i'm not sure of the score. just a word on the north green scrimmage, i don't think we didn't play to our full ability. it was hard to get pumped up after a three hour bus ride.
  18. oakdale travels to celina this week for the first game of 2002. i just wanted to get some predictions for week 1. last year oakdale hosted celina in a close game. as many of you remember cedric peacock drilled the oakdale defense. this year, however, celina won't have peacock to run the ball for them. i believe that it will come down to who has the better skill players and who is better conditioned. what are your thoughts on this game.
  19. i would just like to revise a previous post on this board. i had said that my man cofer was benching about 315. not any more. last i checked, which was a couple of weeks ago, he was up to 365 and he is steadily rising. the thing is, this kid only weighs about 250 now. if i had to bet, i'd say he'll be doing around 400 by the time football comes around. good luck to cofer and to the 2002 eagles.
  20. just face it watson, cofer has you beat............you may be benching a LITTLE more, but cofer is only about 240 and he's benching your body weight 315+.lol.
