  1. My point has never changed. My point has always been that your assumption that SP and Gordonsville are head and shoulders above the rest is a foolish one. Anyone that would call out two teams (traditional powerhouses they maybe) as the two best in the state without seeing the possibility that a team they have not seen maybe equally as talented or even more so is wearing blinders.
  2. Traintrack your not getting it either. Bottomline going by your logic I can say SP was the 3rd best team last year not the 2nd best. Who is to say that WC wasn't better than SP last year, but didn't get a chance to play them since they lost to UC. Now that said to me SP was probably the 2nd best last year, but your logic for the SP/Gordonsville winner being the 2nd best team this year is flawed. If you don't make it to the big game then tough luck you weren't good enough.
  3. I'm sure I can go back to last year and pull quotes that said virtually the same thing your saying. However if memory serves the gold ball went west not east. So go ahead and believe that the real championship will be settle in the east before the teams meet in the state championship, but keep in mind I could make the arguement that last years championship was really decided when WC and UC played.
  4. 43-7 Final. Unfortunatly I have no updates on Roy since I got stuck staying home.
  5. Between the parades, 38's halftime show, and the goats (I'll file that under don't ask don't tell) this sounds like one heck of a coach T party.
  6. Like I said not going to argue the point on here, but I have researched also and I am familiar with these schools and some of the teachers. You are correct enrollment trends change yearly and I've seen that those numbers to each shcools report card and profile is public knowledge that I look at every year.
  7. Now back to football I think this Thursdays game should see the Devils prevail, and I believe they will do so in convincing fashion.
  8. As of 09 the mix at Bransford was roughly 1/3 hispanic. The school also scored as well in standardized testing as both JBS and Coopertown elementary per the state records. I know it is a struggle to teach in another language, and I know these schools aren't for everyone. This is the last off topic comment I will make on the subject I just hate to see a school get bashed and ecspecially when all the information isn't correct.
  9. Good luck maybe you'll get there in one piece.
  10. Well Butchie you nailed it except for the lil helmet part my heads too big for a lil helmet.
  11. I have to disagree with your post. Yes, there is violence and "thugs" at SHS, but I would argue that there is also some of this at JBHS as well. SHS is a much larger high school so statistically speaking there is always going to be more fights and bad apples when you put more students together. This doesn't mean that it is better or worse than any other school in the county. There are both pros and cons to having a large school like SHS. Yes, you will have more bad apples in the student body, but you will also have more students that excel. Also with a larger school more AP course and special study courses can be offered because you have enough students to fill them this is a perk that doesn't exist in most smaller schools. Also from the athletic side of things a ball player that excels at sports in a larger school will most always get a look from colleges before one that excels in a smaller school due to the perceived higher level of competition. All of this said I went to Jo Byrns and absolutely loved it. However I am not so blind to see that there are benefits to sending your child to a larger school. Also keep in mind that your so called thugs may have gotten that way due to not being raised properly or by parents who showed no interest in their life not necessarily by a poor education.
  12. I second that on Carkuff he is a very solid QB that can and will give teams fits down the road. The offensive line also showed flashes of being a solid line with some real decent size. I have to say with a little seasoning this Champions team should hit it's stride right around playoff time and be a tough out for anyone.
  13. Another strong performance from the DEVILS. The backs looked amazing they definitely stepped it up and gave a great performance. The D was solid and though the Champs moved the ball at times for the most part they were held in check. It's early but this team looks poised for another deep run in the playoffs.
  14. The Saturday morning headline will read more like. From Champions To Geldings The Story of Total Humiliation.
  15. Glad to see Springfield heading in the right direction again. I've always thought they had a lot of speed and talent just needed the right person to get it all together. I hope that this season brings good things for the Jackets.
  16. I would like to see Gville win this one being from a 1A school myself I always pull for the smaller schools. That being said a losing streak like this will be hard to break. At some point the oh no here we go again always seems to creep in and snatch away a victory so until Gville breaks thru and gets that first win it will be hard to pick against the Owls. That said I wish the Tigers luck and maybe this will be the year.
  17. Well, I hate to move away from the topics of ham and anal relining, but I wanted to put my 2cents in about the game Friday night. I believe Cascade has a strong team, but I don't believe they are going to be able to beat the Devils this year. I believe this game is going to be in the neighborhood of a 28-14 or 28-7 type game in favor of the Devils. Oh yeah and if Butchie would leave Mactown's "sweet arse" alone he wouldn't be in need of an anal relining.
  18. Wow Moto's bringing the jokes today are we sure somebody didn't steal his login. I think this calls for an investigation maybe our moderator needs to look into a case of identity theft. Butchie can you find the real Moto?
  19. I don't know about favored I think it's a little early to know what either team really has, but should be a good game though and both teams should come away knowing a little more about where they stand.
  20. The publications may have had them winning the state, but that was probably based on the returning skilled positions. From what I've seen DA lost 3 starting lineman and 4 if you count the TE, and we all know this game is won and lost upfront.
  21. What can you say besides the Devils continue to look strong. Yes there were a couple of plays and decisions you would love to have back, but it is August and you have to believe that will take care of itself. The backfield looks strong both Frankie and Brandon definitely have what it takes to be two of the better backs that put on the pads in 1A this year. The line though undersized tonight just kept opening up holes for the backs to get to the second level before having to make a move. Also at the QB position we look strong definitly have the ability to make some nice throws and stretch the D. All and all if we limit mistakes the Devils should be able to expect to score points in bunches this year. On the defensive side of the ball the D line looks to be strong. They were able to stuff several runs up the middle tonight against a much bigger Oline. The linebackers take good angles and bring the wood when they get there. The secondary also looked strong. The D should match up well against the anyone this year. After seeing what I've seen so far I can't wait to for the season to kick off and the games to count. The Devils should be a force to reckon with again this year. Good luck to the Devils and lets get ready for some FOOTBALL!!!!!!
