  1. I would still have to say the most underated big man in TN in the last decade was Alex Leftfco of Anderson County. He could flat out get after it!!! He may have not gotten many D-1 looks, but he could play lock down defense
  2. Wright is an excellent coach, but don't under estimate Blevins. He lost 5 starters from last years state tournament team, and has lead a group of Jrs to just one loss this year. I would say that these two programs and coaches are the best Knoxville has ever seen
  3. #1 Fulton in Class AA plays at #1 Bearden in Class AAA on Wed night. This should be the game of the year in East TN and determine who is the best team in Knoxville. This will be a good test for both teams and help prepare themselves for district and region tournament play. If you are attending there, I suggest you get there early. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm, I believe
  4. Can anyone who was there or has any detailed info, tell me about the squirmish that went down at Clinton last evening?
  5. Very interesting rankings. I thought Catholic swept Lenoir City, but somehow remains, behind them (even in the Prepxtra), oh well just one person's opinion. Does anyone know when West and Bearden play? ScottA11 ... at least Catholic is rated. William Blount swept Catholic and isn't even mentioned. West @ Bearden on Friday night
  6. As a loyal Bearden supporter, I can promise you that they wouldn't come within 15 points of any of the top tier Memphis teams. Class AAA in East Tennessee is down this year. Fortunatly, only 2 teams of of Memphis can make the Class AAA state tournament. Here is to hoping that Bearden makes it that far, and won't have to face a Memphis team till at least the 2nd round. I am truly surprise at the success of the Bearden team this year. They lost all 5 starters from a team that went 35-3(i think that is what they finished). It just goes to show you that with some talent and great coaching, your team can go a long way
  7. West needs to be able to beat Lenoir City before they can beat Bearden
  8. Chill out Feartheveer hahahaha AE will still go farther then your Puppies.. Now GO WEST/AE.... Oh yeah, West will give those same Puppies their 1st lost next week yeah, that is what you said about your Roadrunners last year when they came to the dawghouse and looked what happended....I usually don't follow your logic all too closely
  9. I can promise you that every team that hosts a tournament, will put there on team in the easiest bracket....look throughout history in every tournament played and you will see that. Either way, Bearden still got to the championship game and still had to beat Central which they did...and I'm done!!! BTW, Turtle....who dat who dat who dat dere gonna be AE...AC AC AC!!! Put the whooping on dem boys from da EAST SIDE last night!!!!
  10. I was pretty impressed with Bearden last night and the way they fought back from being down by 9 points both at the end of the 1st and halftime. Blevins always seems to make adjustments to help his team out overcome a deficet. I was impressed by Central and their play. They will be a force to be recokened with throughout the remainder of the season and tournament time. Great job DAWGS for winning the Super 16 for the 3rd year in a ROW
  11. I never said that Central didn't have quickness
  12. Looks like both West and Bearden had there hands full last night. I was surprised to wake up to read in the KNS that Central had beaten West and Bearden had beaten Webb by 1point(earlier in the year, BHS beat Webb by 30+). Tonight should be a great matchup between to outstanding programs. Bearden and its quickness vs Central and its size....best of luck to both teams
  13. Ugly sweater party huh... Does that mean your going shirtless. The ladies love the grizzly bear chest, at least Mrs Dolan does
  14. overated or not, they are still my team and I will still cheer for them. Point out one time on here, where I have said anything negative about either White Station or Melrose on this board...go ahead, I will give you a few minutes to attempt to find that...still waiting...still waiting...and waiting, waiting, waiting...yeah, didn't think you could find anything.
  15. I would love to be at this game, but I will be partaking in some adult beverages at an ugly sweater party!!! GO DOGS
  16. Ask Steve Smith and the boys from Oak Hill Academy if Bearden was overated...I'm just saying.
  17. so you are saying that 2 minutes is an extended amount of time...I'm just saying...BTW, Memphis had all the hype 2 years ago and still lost to UT...I'm just saying.
  18. with your reasoning then, every team in the state in Class AAA, other than White Station last year was hurt by their coaches substitution pattern, since well, they didn't win the state championship. It didn't help that Blevins had to sit on the bench the entire game. With that said, that was last year, and I don't want to live in the past. Today is now and the bulldogs are 10-0 This statement is asinine! I would venture to say that some teams lost because the other team was better. or maybe because a team had a player foul out and then their 4th player get kicked out of the gym. Because this CAT won the SHIP!!!

  20. I'm about as intrested in what dragonfan123 has to say, as I am the career ambitions of the centerfold in Hef's magazine
  21. Last years substitution pattern of 5 in, 5 out didn't hurt the Bulldogs too much. They only lost a total of 3 games and only to one team within the state of TN. Unfortunatly, it happended to be in the 1st round of the State Tournament. I'm not sure that you could have done that even with Saleh on your team
  22. After watching my 1st Bearden game of the season last night against Lenoir City, a few observations came to mind. 1.) Last years 5 in, 5 out strategy was done for a reason. With Blevins knowing that he would lose all 5 starters from last years team, playing time for the Sophmores were imparitive. Knowing that he would have to rely on these players for the next two years is why he played them so much. For all the naysayers that said his strategy didn't work last year, I beg to differ. 2.) Jaelan Lawson has got some serious handles. I'm not sure if I have seen a player that quick with the ball in his hands. With that said, sometimes he tends to dribble a little too much, instead of taking it to the rack, but goodness, that dude got him some mad dribbling skills. 3.) Tyler Hood....REAL DEAL!!!! He is smooth all around player. He can play Defense, Rebound, Shoot and can get to the basket anytime that he wants. Its unfortunate for him that he is the only player that LC has that is worth anything. I would love to see him playing with the Bulldogs. 4.) Absence or Dion Fair and Will Winton. Winton should be back in two weeks, which will help the Bulldog depth out tremendously. He is a very good player and will make a big difference for the Bulldogs. It's unfortunate that Dion will not play this year. With him and Lawson at PG, it would have been hard for many teams to defend the quards (with the exception of Fulton). It's a shame that HS players have to lose an entire season, whereas in College, you have the oppurtunity for a medical redshirt. Here is too a speedy recovering for Dion and can't wait to see him back on the court next year. 5.) Rico White and Ty Green can flat out stroke it. With the lack of size for this years Bulldog squad, they will have to rely alot on the outside shooting of these two guys. Both shot the ball extremelly well last night, so if they can keep that up, it could be another special season for the Dogs. 6.) Coaching of the "BLEV". I have always said that to me he is one of the top coaches to ever coach in East Tennessee. He coaches his players discipline and team basketball. This is evident by his 10-0 start to the season, in which he had to replace the Best team in the history of Bearden Basketball. Some players and parents may not like his style, but he has proven time and time again, that he can win ballgames. 7.) Lenoir City's gym is old school....I loved it!!! Love the dimly lit gym and the purple lights. It reminded me of the Doghouse back in my days. 8.) Friday nights game against Catholic should be a fun one to watch. The most intriguing matchup will not be on the court, but rather the bench. I'm going out on a limb and think that Blevins will bust out the Black leather jacket and Hutchins will be rocking the snakeskin cowboy boots. Please bring your cameras ladies and gentleman. This could be one of the greatest photo opps of all time. I'm out!!!!
  23. They both could pass as a grizzly bear depending on McNeelys beard. They look more like D1 offensive lineman then actual athletes. The question would be is Lollar their little cub. that is the best quote yet....Lollar as their cub!!! He is a thristy little cub
  24. I think Lollar's only defeat last year was in the last game of the season. I see him in D1 within the next 5 years
  25. I'd say that the Mavs have a pretty good coaching staff now. Led by Wallace, Lollar and that kid that use to play at AC. Mcneely may be his name. Maybe that coaching staff can lead the Mavs back to the promise land and to the Murphy Center in March. Heard that they work together well as a unit. I guess thats what happen when ex-ball players coach. They no longer have the skills to lace em up on the court, so they have to re-live their glory days on the sidelines That's just HARSH! Will Mario lead the Dawgs back to M'boro based on your logic? It will be intresting to see how the DAWGS will be without Ole Barnzey!!! That guy is a legend in my book!!! Spoke with him last week and they asked him to help coach HS ball in Ohio and he said that there is nothing up there like what he saw the last 10 years at the Doghouse, plus there is no mentor like the BLEV, aka Stache to learn from
