I don't think anyone ever said Greeneville is unbeatable

Things for Greeneville are going great! I completely agree with TDArtist. Under Coach Ballard the Greeneville program will not miss a beat! I think of myself as a Greeneville faithful and believe me I'm excited for this season. The defense should perform exceptionally well seeing as most of it is returning from next year with a lot more experience and the younger players have had time to grow physically and mentally. This defense will be a frightening bunch to watch and the offense has the to potential to be very explosive also.

While losing coach McCurry is a big loss, I believe the Greene Devils will be just fine. I'm NOT saying they didn't loose a key person, but lets face it coach didn't make on tackle or one block. The Devils now have pride in their team and that provides a great deal of motivation GHS just needs to find someone that can keep that motivation up and in due time increase it. Greeneville would have still have been a contender for going deep in the play offs anyway if the classifications wouldn't have changed.

I fail to see how this "incident" proves that "if money can't buy it then we don't need it."

I completely agree, yet I know him well enough to say that he won't tell.

I just wish someone would tell us what really happened.

My money is on coach ballard to step up and take the reins of the devil team.

I realize that GHS is a Blue Ribbon Highschool and it is no small feat, but why wouldn't you try to have both academic AND athletic excellence. This board is about the resignation of the head coach;it is not about the issue with the basketball team. As far as determining the true source of the issue I am beginning to think we will not know the true cause of resignation for a long time because all we have to go on is rumors. Or at least thats the only thing I have to go on.

As much as I would like to see McCurry return I just don't think that will happen. In order for him to return someone will have to apologize admit they were wrong, and ,honestly, I just don't see an apology coming from the appropriate person.

I'm just curious as to why the students in those programs considered "art" are not held to the same standards as the athletes and just to clarify that is not intended as belittlement towards students that participate in those programs.

Athletes are singled out. That is undenialbe; however, I believe that the mission satement of the Greeneville City School system should be changed from "To educate all students to be successful in a global society by providing excellence in educators, programs, and environment" to "To sabotage one team at a time."

I think greeneville is fairly polished on both sides of the ball...we just need some game experience to really make us shine...
