  1. Maybe I'm biased, but I think it will be another Milan vs. GC matchup in the finals! Milan has the trio of Chantel Poston, Shaniqua Gray, and big Perica Glenn. Milan got lucky that they get a day off because they only go 7 deep at max. GC is in a loaded bracket, but they will do what Austin-East has done the past few years and that is show that they are contenders this year, next year, and probably 2-3 more years with the young talent they got on the team now and the girls they got coming up. Have fun stopping Heather Butler and Heather Griffin. Prediction: Milan beats GC by 1 point in the state championship!
  2. Chantel and Shanqiua are not "one man shows" either. Milan has a big 3 that cannot be matched by anone in Poston, Gray, and Glenn. Also, of course Milan would be worse because you lose the size of Poston that can play anything from 2-5 and guard anyone on the floor. Milan wouldn't trade Poston for another PG. GC probably wouldn't trade Butler for Poston, Rechis, or Rooney either. I think your giving her teammates too much credit because I think she scored over 50 percent of GC's points the last two games, and I have yet to see her have an off game vs. a big team. Even when we beat GC in the district semi-finals, she torched us. GC loves their other players (and I don't wanna bash them) but their other players aren't as good as you're billing them to be. They got one girl that is strictly out there to shoot 3s ala Hamm, even though she hits them at a better percentage. Outside of the 3s and FTs, which she doesn't shoot much, she isn't that lethal of an offensive player. Pate is tough, but she isn't polished in the post. Griffin is good and the other guard they have is better defensively than offensively.
  3. Sorry but Butler is the best player in this district NOW and will be for the next 2 years. You can bash me, but I'm a Milan fan. Butler never takes a play off unlike Chantel and Shaniqua does at times, and she can beat you anywhere on the floor. Now I think skill wise, Chantel is clearly the best player because I've never seen a girl in this district take someone off the dribble and just jump and hit a 15 footer with a hand in their face. Butler may not go to a D1 school, but in terms of results, which is all that matter, she has carried her team this year and especially the past 2 games down the stretch!
  4. Thank you Pioneer fans for giving me some insight. I'm sorry for the one on here whining because they really don't know how childish they look doing so. No ref can blow a 16 point lead, and I hope we will meet in state. In regards to state...... Do you think either of those Memphis teams will be able to handle GC or Milan? Looking at their weak schedules and losses, I say no.
  5. I'm a Milan fan and don't like to blame refs and just wanted GC fans input. The only thing I had to go on was Robin complaining on the radio about the refs because they scheduled the game on a stinking Wednesday Night /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  6. Congrats Dyer Co., Covington deserved that beatdown after illegally practicing (I'm pretty sure it's illegal) on Haywood Co.'s floor before the Milan-OC game Monday Night. Also, what happened after the game? Was there a fight or something?
  7. GC fans won't let anything die. Heck, I was messing with one of their seniors the other day, and she said, "Well they told me Milan only won because they brought their refs." Gibson County is the world's worst at "the refs are out to get me." Watching the GC and OC game though, OC has a bunch of fans that need to take a chill pill as well because they cried over every call when they were getting their butt handed to them. It's amazing though as soon as OC made their run that all of a sudden the refs were great. Refs are going to miss calls! Unless you want to have some kind of robots out there calling a game, you're going to have to deal with it. The fact is that even a good call is going to be questioned when a team is losing or a team is in a close game.
  8. Because you guys can't handle the thought of your team losing or not play as good as they should. If you guys are such great officials, why are you guys not going to the TSSAA and getting some stripes and a whistle? The bald-headed black ref in district 13AA was hilarious tonight. Rechis just got through traveling (WHICH IT WAS A TRAVEL AND NO ONE COMPLAINS EXCEPT WESTVIEW FANS BECAUSE RECHIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE SO PERFECT), and then there was a timeout on the floor. The fans were giving this particular black guy a hard time, and he picked up his whistle and signaled if they wanted it. I thought it was very humorous, and I think if you guys can do it any better THAN MAKE A CHANGE AND GO TAKE THEIR PLACE! This just in: THERE'S NO CONSPIRACY TO TAKE DOWN YOUR FAVORITE TEAM BY THE OFFICIALS! There are going to be bad calls on both teams and to come on here and point out 1 call inparticular is kind of stupid seeing there are MANY CALLS IN A GAME!
  9. 50-44 was final score, scoreboard operator gave an extra 2 to GC on accident. Now to the whining, Why not mention Mr. Boykins pathetic block call when Joyner got absolutely ran over in the first half? You guys got all the calls in the 1st half so don't come whining about the 2nd half. Also, to say Gray's behind the back and then layup a walk is absolutely absurd. You guys really need to learn to breathe while watching a game because it's annoying where you are screaming when a player touches your players. Maybe the Gray call was a bad call, but the refs didn't break the GC pressure, knock down shots, or kills you on the boards; Milan did that. Poston and Gray were non-factors in the 1st half because of a very good zone D. Volbert lit their butts up at half-time, and you saw it when Milan completely dominated from the opening possession in the 2nd half. Side note: I'm a Milan fan as you can tell, but I'm embarrassed at the actions of our student section and hopefully GC is with theirs. It's something to mess with each other with jokes like "GC Football chanted by Milan" and then "Peabody Football in reply from GC Students." However, it's just completely classless to try and fight (from the looks of it). Several Milan police officers along with Coach Sheppard had to separate the 2 student sections after the game, and I think it's just classless that two team that fought as hard as these two did get overlooked by the actions of idiotic students. Good luck to GC on Saturday and in the Region tourney.
  10. Is anyone completely shocked by Milan's team? This team was suppose to be fighting OC for the cellar with all the seniors they lost. I know WC, Lexington, etc... are not as good teams to judge by, but Milan was not suppose to beat those teams like they did. Word around Milan is that Coach Sheppard has finally got a team that will listen to him instead of a bunch of high school kids acting like they were too good for a system. Instead of suspending players the whole off-season like he has had to do the past couple, he has had them in the gym working their butts off because all the kids on this team have amazing characters. This Milan team is looking like a 2nd place team in here to DC, but Milan usually plays DC pretty tough. David Vaughn is the darkhorse candidate for District Player of the Year.
  11. I will admit I'm shocked by the Dawgs this year. Last year they were decent and lost a ton of seniors. However, they have looked impressive this year. Lexington is a joke, but Milan beat them by 50. They almost beat Humboldt without 5-6 players missing due to football. David Vaughn is a man-child, and he may be the dark horse for player of the year in his district. Milan's program is hopefully rising back to where it use to be a few years ago. Go Milan!!
  12. Roll Tide 08'? You mean roll right back in the cellar? If what I see is right on here, then the true Trenton fans went to the GP game and not the classless people that attended the Milan game. It would've been closer just ask GP last year because they thought it wouldn't even have been a game vs. us, and we were as much a team or even better than last year. Problem with Milan is they can't stop a scrambling QB, and Trenton had a scrambling QB. Milan matched up with GP better than they did Trenton, but hey we will never know how the Milan-GP would've turned out b/c Milan didn't take care of business. Milan in 08 will be fighting for the Gold Ball while Trenton tries to build their team over the next few years to make a run at the Gold Ball. Facts are facts, and I'm not saying that to ###### some of you off. It has proven itself throughout history, and it will continue to prove that Milan re-loads while Trenton re-builds. BTW Milan has Justin Coleman, Jobronski Gilbert, J.W. Williams, and Tristian Pearson back next year which accounts for all of the playmakers on offense. The line will continue to be good with Cody Rogers, Luke Jackson, and others stepping up. The linebacking corps will have Mr. Gilbert. The player people need to watch next year is Tim Adkisson because he has the potential to be an absolute beast anywhere he plays, which probably will be in secondary. Milan's Freshman-Senior squad is stacked with amazing talent next year, and I can't wait till August when we hear that whistle again.
  13. I dont want to bash or anything, but you say they can't break free of your D. I'm a huge Milan fan and will say that up front because I don't want anyone quesitoning me if I was from GC or somewhere else to throw a shot at Trenton. Your D just gave up 35 points to Milan's very simplistic offense. Milan knows everyone knows what they're going to do, and we run a smash-mouth type approach daring someone to stop us. Milan was easy to read yet you guys gave up 35 to us. If GP runs the same offense as they did last year against Milan, then I don't see how you can say they're easy to read. Good Luck Trenton, but don't expect your D to win this game. There's a kid with the #7 on his back that has to will yall into the end zone a bunch because this is going to be a high-scoring game.
  14. Quit bickering? We're congratulating Peabody. 99 percent of Milan fans want Trenton to win next week because they're in West TN. This was one of the most amazing games I've ever seen, and I think I'm about to have a heart attack after watching another great one today (UT-UK). Also, it was already proven Milan didn't do that. Someone from Humboldt did that to pin it on Milan.
  15. Are you saying Milan didn't respect a team they have beat by like a combined 8 points in the last 3 meetings? Milan needs no humble pie because Peabody has been the hottest team in the West after the Mlan game.
  16. Whoah, I didn't mean to come off as a jerk. Heck, I'm not blaming the kid at all. I just said there's no excuse for what we saw tonight by our secondary at the end. Our DL is what got us beat not that certain senior (sorry I shoulda been clearer not to blame the kid that bad) I was referring to. If anyone was offended by that "certain senior" remark, I apologize.
  17. This is not racist at all so please don't take it that way. Have you ever witnessed African American girls that use the language like they were and doing the things they were doing, to be told to do something? One person told them to please sit down, and they responded "Who do you think you're talking to, my momma doesn't even tell me to sit down." Also, the cops are near the concession stands so I'm stuck in the dilemma of either sitting through or leaving during a close game and risking my seat being taken.
  18. Directed at someone else? They yelled it until he got up so I doubt this is a coincidence. Also, these were girls that were 18-19 using profanity, screaming, etc.. just to mock Milan fans and their players. Was the barking a direct slap in the face or was it just in good humor? Did she purposely bark at you to show ya up? If you were an opposing fan, and this happened to you you would be upset.
  19. I hope Trenton the best against Goodpasture and the rest of the way. While it was a great game, Trenton fans (not going to classify all because I know there are a few bad apples in every group) were the most classless bunch I've ever seen. First of all, there were three Trenton teenage girls sitting in front of us ON MILAN'S SIDE, and they were screaming at us and mocking anything Milan did. Also, Jobronksi Gilbert got hurt, and a lot of people on Trenton's side were saying "GET OVER IT." I heard this on the Milan side, so I know some Peabody fans had to hear it. I really hope these classless individuals don't represent the majority of Trenton's fans because that was the most unenjoyable enjoyable game I've ever seen due to some classless people. Like I said, good job Trenton on the great win. Refs made a lot of horrible calls, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE REASON MILAN LOST! There's no excuse for our secondary play especially that of a certain senior.
  20. Get past the 3rd round in the playoffs, better yet, get past Milan in a game and then talk about Milan. I can't way for Peabody to go back to the black hole their football has always been in after Kendall leaves.
  21. Correction: You guys owned us in 03 and 04. In 05, the refs owned us by allowing 12 players on the field for your game winning TD with like a minute remaining. If not mistaken that penalty is a result in a loss of down, which it was on 4th down. Also, those refs got suspended the rest of the playoffs. Like another poster said, you guys have no Chris Donald. We were two injuries away from killing yall in the first game, and trust me Morris will not hesitate to run the score up this game to send a message. I will repeat myself: Milan 27 Huntingdon 0
  22. Milan will win this big! Why? Before Coleman's injury, we were up 14-0 in the middle of the 2nd quarter if I recall correctly, and we were rolling. Coleman's injury came, and BOOM.... we were vastly un-prepared to bring in a sophmore at first and then move our TE to QB in Postoak. JCS fan is exactly right because that Huntingdon game proved it. Coleman didn't have good stats, but Huntingdon saw he could throw the ball effectively (ala the long ball Pearson dropped earlier in the game for a sure TD). After Coleman's injury, however, Huntingdon just stacked the box and dared our QBs to throw because they knew neither had game experience. Prediction: Milan 27-0
  23. Is this a D that gave up about 50 to Trenton in yalls biggest game of the season? Martin's defensive is twice the D yall have, and we scored at will on them. Coleman if finally healthy, and he can run the ball. Also, look for Milan to go shotgun ala the Huntingdon game before Coleman got hurt (BTW we were scoring at will in the shotgun with Coleman against Huntingdon.)
  24. Is this game at 7 or 7:30?
