  1. please tell me you were trying to be sarcastic, and just aren't very good at it. Or, maybe your an Oneida fan trying to get bullitin board material. I am a Sunbright fan, and have seen them play a couple of times, and I'm saying without Hyden, we'll be lucky not to get beat bad, much less win. Pooh is a good player, and I'm sure if he said that it was tongue in cheek, not meant to be taken seriously, and you just didn't catch the subtlety, not to mention no one in there right mind would say that about Coach Stevens. You must be an OHS fan trying to motivate them /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> .
  2. I just hope everyone, on both teams, comes out healthy.
  3. I personally think they're all either brave or stupid. They each took a position which all other coaches ran from. No one, including Urban Meyer or Steve Spurrier, could be immediately successful at Wartburg, with the district that they're in. Sunbright has so much potential even the defensive coordinator @ Scott County wouldn't go there. Of course, it say's something about the desperation of the folks at Sunbright that he was offered the job /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> . I'm not going to comment on the guy @ Oakdale. I've only seen him once, and I thought he did OK. Oakdale is such a small school. It's very difficult for them to sustain a competetive program. Looking long term, I think Sunbright and Wartburg have potential. Sunbright had a good Jr. High team this year, and several of their key players are Jr's. Wartburg just needs to pray for a new district, or they need to go up the road to Oneida and figure out how they stay in 1A, and maybe use some of those secrets to drop back a classification. The sad part is, they wouldn't be guaranteed a playoff spot in 1A. I did not see their middle school play this year, but they have some good underclassmen, so maybe next year will be better. I deffinetly think it's to early to discuss letting any of them go, good grief look how much trouble it was getting them in the positions /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> .
  4. I think were about 3 days to early. Scott has to play a very well coached, disciplined Kingston team on friday. On paper the two teams appear to be a good matchup, and if Scott can't find a way to win at Kingston, something that isn't easy to do, then this game might not be as big. I'm looking forward to that game with great anticipation, I think it could be a classic in what has become an old, if onesided, rivalry. I just hope Scott comes out with the win and no injuries. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  5. Anything less than Scott by 21 should be considered a dagws win. Wartburg is improving, but scott is a decent 3A team, aqnd Wartburg is a weak 2A team.
  6. York was impressive. I saw them in spring and didn't think they looked that good, but they really dominated Cumberland Gap, Who I had thought had a decent passing game.
  7. I agree! Scott should win this one fairly easily. If not, they will defenitly have trouble with their district schedule. I will say that Wartburg should be much improved this season, but your still looking at the difference between a mediocre 3A team, and a rebuilding 2A team. Having said that, if Scott suffers any injuries in pre-season, then you never know what could happen. I just hope both teams come out of this game injury free and ready to get into the meat of their schedule. Best of luck to the Dawgs after the 24th, but I have to take the Highlanders in this one.
  8. Actually some people up here are very interested in football to the south. I wish Wartburg great success in the coming season, except on 8-24. Wartburg has been represented by some outstanding young men over the past 3 years (travis Nelson, Anthony Rogers, Tyler winstead, Dustin Brown, etc..), and they are still being represented by some outstanding young men, Nick Barnes, Scott Phillips, Eugene Poole, etc..., and they deserve respect. If our young men can go down their and get a win, great, but they take just as much pride in their blue and white jerseys as we do our red and white, and I'm sure they will play just as hard as we will. It will come down to who executes and who wants it. If we don't like being considered as a schedule lightener, then we need to elevate our play on the field, not the volume of our typing on coacht. I personally think trading YAI for Wartburg would probably be considered as lightening our schedule. Go Scott, and best of luck Dawgs, except on 8-24
  9. If they go no backs, where will Barnes play. I thought he was playing running back?
  10. certainly they share athletes, the basketball coach just seems to do a better job with the same kids. /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
  11. Does anyone know how the Sweetwater jamboree went. I think it was yesterday.
  12. While I agree Scott High will struggle this year, It might be worth while to give Coach Kries some time. He has generaly been an effective coach in every sport he's coached (not counting that last stretch as coach of the Lady Highlanders bball team). Scott has some good athletes ( Dylan Stonecipher, Joe Brooks, I'm sure there is at least one or two more I don't know about), and if Coach Kries can translate that athleticism to Baseball, they may not be as bad as everyone thinks. Please note I am not saying they will win many or even any district games, and if it's true that they dropped Oneida from their schedule, then they may not win any games /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" , but for this program, just being competetive would be a step up. For myself, I wish them good luck. It takes a great deal of heart to play on a team when you know going in you'll be lucky to win a game. It takes a young man of a special caliber to compete for the love of the game, and I think they should be congratulated for it /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> .
  13. What happened in the Scott/ Oneida scrimmage yesterday? I couldn't make it.
  14. I saw that scrimmage. I didn't see anything equal in it. The score was 3-0 at the half and I counted 6 more goals from Stone in the second half. Stone isn't real big, but they have some skill, and seemed to play well together, and they were obviously much quicker than Scott, especially Scott's back line. There were also some kids for Scott who just didn't look comfortable on the field. I couldn't really get a read on Stone's goalie, he didn't seem to be threatened, but Scott's keeper looked pretty good in stretches. It is pretty hard to tell when your defense can't clear, and your offense can't maintain any possession when they do get the ball. Scott appears to have some potential, but it may take some time to develop. The keeper looked like a real bright spot for them, but he could have a really long year if the D doesn't progress quickly.
  15. Congratulations to all the dawgs. Nelson, Shannon, Winstead... All of y'all . Great job. See y'all in Murfreesboro. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
