That was a great ballgame and with how we played against the talent level we faced, I like our outlook this season. The AE band was great. Oggs is a great player and the 2 so. kids are the real deal. Good luck this year to the roadrunners and hoped you enjoyed your trip to Motown.

How good is AC?

To answer questions, the field has 2 sides. The ticket price will cover both games. The index should not come into play because it is supposed to cool down fri. night into sat. Burke-Toney is the site of both games.

AE may win but you fail to recognize that we have guys going one way. To say that AE wins the physical battle in the "second half" makes no sense.

After Thursdays scrimmage, the team had a players only meeting. The result was a very emotional and inspired effort in the IMAC jamboree. This team has a wealth of talent and could be very special. I know very little about AE other than they are very young on O and have 2 big linebackers that are rated in the top LB's in Knoxville. I hope some AE fans comment so we can get a feel for our opponent. I hope all AE/Fulton fans have a safe trip up 40 and enjoy our facilities. Burke-Toney really is a great place to watch a HS football game.

Greeneville's AD told Both Morristown schools that they would still play them when they first found out they were moving down to AA but i guess they didn't want to play us anymore. I wouldn't either since neither team has beaten us in the past 2 years. Sullivan South has turned into a pretty heated rivalry in the past couple of years. We have given them 2 out of their 3 loses the past 2 years. Come on!!!! Have you seen our non-con schedule? We play Austin-East,@ Anderson Co. & @ Cleveland. I doubt we are dodging anybody like you made it sound. West has always scheduled a tough non-con schedule as well. GHS has a great program but to make it look like we are dodging you is funny.

I think: West-Fulton @ 5 East-AE @ 8 one ticket covers both games. I think!!!!!

Just giving you a hard time. It is really hard to predict early season games like these. I spoke to a guy in Knoxville that follows AE & Fulton closely. He said that AE was very athletic and that was it. He went on to say that they are very young. I know from playing Fulton last year, they have alot of talent coming back and are a well coached team. I hope both teams represent us well and pull off wins.

I would love to bet the spread on these lines.

I have not had a chance to see anyone other than West,JCHS,East,CC and Cherokee. I really do not know how anyone who has seen these teams can say "they are the best". I think it will be a tight race for the region with no clear cut preseason favorite. JMO.

You should have came down to say hello. The team had a player meeting last night when they got back. I look for a few changes in the mindset of a few of the guys and a few changes in personel as well. That is the good thing about a scrimmage, you do learn alot as a team and staff.

The srimmage was played in a game format. East went 3 and out and a fumbled bad snap on the punt gave Bearden a TD. The next series, a blocked punt set them up around the 20 for another TD. We went down 14-0 and our D had barely been on the field. Bearden put together another long drive for a 21-0 lead and East picked off a pass and took it around 70 yards for a TD and was driving for another score as the clock ran out. Final 21-7. I knew coming in that this may be the best offense we face all season and our D was my concern. They bent but did not break. They actually gave up 7 points and special teams gave up 14. Our offense looked decent moving the ball and Cody Ricker broke off some great runs. Grade Card: Special Teams: A big fat F Defense: C Offense C Overall: C- In the 3 games we lost last year, special teams cost us points. We will have a long year if this is not corrected.

All the above posts had been intended as a playful jab at Mr. Utt whom by the way is a dear friend of mine and neighbor as well. Anyone who has taken this to any other level and called to question this really needs to get a freakin' life. Utt is a very qualified trainer and has cared for my son and gone above and beyond for him and others on the team. NONE of this should have promted anyone else to get involved with this situation but for a brief moment, I forgot that people from Morristown read this board and have nothing better to do than to try to stir the pot.

Had to work and Matt may have broke a finger yesterday. Utt says yes but my RN wife says no. In head to head competition in diagnosing matt's injuries, my wife has a 2-0 lead.

Thu. 8/13 I look forward to see how we stack up to Bearden. I think we will see as good an offense then as we will see all year. If we can hang with them, we should be ok. I have alot of respect for the Bearden program and look forward to the trip.

The scrimmage started with a special teams session. East has not worked on special teams much and it showed. We looked BAD!!!! I hope we correct those issues. 1's vs. 1's: Our D got a pick (Tee Howell) and returned it 50+ yards for a TD. The next series was 3 and out. We gave up a long tD pass and a long drive as well. There will have to be some tweaking of the secondary because SE found a weakness and kept exploiting it for the majority of their yards gained. If that one position is corrected, we will look solid. Offense: Tee Howell,Dee Dee Johnson,Cody Ricker and company looked good and scored every time they had the ball with big gains. I was not at all worried about our ability to score this year and the scrimmage confirmed my feelings. It was supposed to be in the spring but got cancelled somehow. From what I understand, they are on the way down and I am headed out the door to go watch it. Updates later.

Something to do with SE players and a wedding. First it was fri. at east then they said they could not come so we planned to go there. Then they said today that they had alot of starters that would be attending a wedding and they would have to cancel for fri. Then they said they would come here. I hope they show up!!!!!! Dog gone!!!!!! It is 2 weeks from week zero.

Friday 8/7 What does SE have coming back? Is everyone healthy for Friday? Thoughts?

I don't know how much truth there is in this but I heard that TN high had 26 guys quit last week. That could explain the numbers.
