  1. Congrats Adamsville!!! You are doing your part to get respect for our district.
  2. Bob, in your own home there are standards of respect that make home a secure place to be. For instance, you can leave your wallet on the counter and no one will touch it. The use of someone else's login is the same. Leave it up, leave it logged in, you cross a line if you impersonate. Not the fault of the one who did not log out. If someone takes money from your wallet in your home, it is not your fault for leaving it on the counter. Someone has stolen from you.
  3. hey Bigswo. . . no problem. I just got in from work. Am grinning as I sit here. I jumped on my son last year for posting under my name, and I have a nephew who will inject drama into every situation. Don't lose any sleep over all this. Granted, none of us parents will get much sleep Thursday night. Too excited before a competitive game like this one. We all realize no one has a clue which team will be better Friday night. But know both teams will be better for having played each other. I enjoy the whole scene. These are young men, striving to please themselves and the adults around them. I am not offended by talk from immaturity. If he had just left out the "my son said...." line, I would have ignored the whole post. Forget it. Come to TCA excited, not a bit concerned about this message board. Looking forward to an intense game. I hope the parents can survive it!!!
  4. Bigswo, what is the deal? Why are you trying so hard to stir up the UC players? Looks like insecurity. You are holding current players accountable for words (which may or may not have been spoken) from 2 years ago, when they were on the sidelines or in middle school. Talking trash is one thing, damaging the reputation of players and a school is another. We are looking forward to the game. I can assure you TCA sportsmanship will not be an issue. The field will be ready, the fans will welcome Union City to our house. May the best team win.
  5. Memphisfootball, thanks for speaking up. TCA will be ready to stand up to whatever UC gives them. Manassas was truly a different team than the one we have played in the past few years. Thanks for playing your hearts out against us.
  6. Reitzfan, thank you for the analysis. It recaps an exciting game. And I thought last year's game against JCS caused parent/fan heart attacks.
  7. After seeing Manassas last Friday against TCA, my opinion is: Manassas will win a lot of games this season because they are fast, skilled, disciplined and well coached. It does not matter which teams are having a "down" year. Manassas is going to surprise a lot of folks this season, and they may get tired of hearing that the other team must have had an off night. But it will not be true. Manassas knows how to play football.
  8. SHlion: I am hearing from people who were at the Scotts Hill/Middleton game that there was a fight on the field, with spectators jumping the fence to participate. According to the folks talking to me, both benches cleared and players were ejected. What do you know?
  9. Great picture!! Look forward to coming your way in about a month.
  10. This sounds like a dumb question, but I really don't know: On a kick off, which team is offense/defense?
  11. Right, that is what I meant. Thanks for clarifying it for me. Most of our players play both ways. I was referring to the extra running the corners and safety will have to do to keep receivers covered against USJ. Did not intend to leave any one out. All the players are important.

    Dehydration

Another thought: question him about supplements for muscle building, etc. The ATC's I have talked to think supplements may explain an increase in cramps, even in cool weather, and even toward the end of the season.

    Dehydration

I have a son who tends to dehydrate. Pedialyte has worked best for him. We put a milk jug full of water in the frig and he has to finish if off every day. Immediately after practice, he drinks one quart of pedialyte. The day before games, he drinks at least 2 jugs (quart size, the Walmart brand works just as well) of pedialyte. Then game day, one jug between school and game, then another jug gone before the end of the game. (I put in in a cooler for him and he keeps it on the sideline) He plays soccer, football both ways and special teams, and basketball. Before we began the pedialyte, he had dehydrated, requiring IVs after a basketball game. No problems since.
  14. We can do it, but with Jabriel, Joey and Mark playing both ways it will be hard to keep the receivers covered all night. This game will come down to heart and determination. No concerns about Trinity leaving it all on the field.
  15. http://www.eplustv6.com/football_live/index_2009.php They replay at various times all week, and have a pregame show 30 minutes before start time.
  16. Trinity should get off to a better start in this game against USJ. Last year, we didn't start playing football until the 2nd quarter, then made a pretty good game of it from there on out.
  17. Will there be an internet broadcast?
  18. Take number one out of the mix, and we have a well-coached football team, with players that have heart, skill, determination and character. Young men who love football and leave it all on the field and give the fans more than their money's worth every game. Our number one has those same qualities, plus exceptional God-given talent. Take your 25 best players and put them up against our 25 best players, and it would still be a close game. We have receivers with great hands, an impressive kicker/punter, linemen who do their assignments, a fullback who can plow through, etc, etc, etc. And TCA has intelligence. I am not saying Huntingdon does not have these things. I am responding to your question: without your #1 one, what does TCA have left?
  19. Are you saying Trinity's first string was on the field with Huntingdon's second string? How can you know?
  20. Trinity will scrimmage Huntingdon Tuesday, then Trenton Peabody Friday. Our offense looked very balanced last night. Not predictable, because there are so many choices. Pass receivers were pulling in the passes and running backs were finding the holes, for the most part. Defense needs to step it up some. But it has been an intense week, and fatigue could be a factor with so many players going both ways.
  21. Trinity scrimmages Collinwood on Friday. What scrimmages does Adamsville have lined up?
  22. Great!! I am sure Coach Haggard will build on what he and Coach Murphy got rolling last year. Middleton has talent and athletes. I will be pulling for Middleton every game (well, maybe not as loud when you play TCA).
  23. Collinwood scrimmages Trinity Christian out of Jackson.
  24. That is a great question. Coaches in all the other sports have decades of longevity. The roster at Middleton jumped by about 25 players this past season. Coach Murphy was doing a great job.
