  1. AE won't even get on the board until Ootlewah lets off the gas late in the game.
  2. ...first of all breath, then look at the kids stats. he was a soph last yr and was the go to man on his team in 5A. the whole bit about him being small compared to andre means nothing and you know it because they have 2 different types of game. it would be a whole lot easier to read this post w/o /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> if you just admitted that you are hating on a highschool kid. oh and btw, ANYBODY who puts up 300 apy on DB has a bit of talent. average players don't put up monster numbers for an entire season in 5A. if you can name 1 team in the state that this kid couldn't have started on last year I will pay you $100 via paypal.
  3. I'm not a devrin young fan, but the kid is good. You say because he didn't produce against farragut/soddy that he is being hyped too much. In the farragut game, the coaches wouldn't kick to him and their whole defensive scheme was to stop him. How many yards/touchdowns did Sterling put up against sub par comp? Talent is talent and there is no way that you can say that this kid isn't special. A week region 1-5A is still stronger than other lower classifications, so the weak comp doesn't jive.
  4. I don't get all giddy over stats cuz there are some very average players who put up big numbers. I will say this, last summer when I met the young man i figured he'd get his helmet handed to him by week 5. It wasn't that i was hating on a kid, but i thought he wasn't ready as a soph. to produce the way he did. I was impressed at how he performed in big games against stiff competition. The kid has serious talent and he plays in the highest classification in the state. The kid started on offense, defense, and special teams as a soph. If he grows to be a legit 5'9/160, he'll go anywhere he wants to...speed kills.
  5. look all i said was that the kid transferring into farragut will be a very good addition. then fsu posted nike combine stats and there were a few here who started with the..."those aren't US Army all-star player numbers" my point then is the same as it is now...the kid can play. is reggie bush coming to farragut? no, but a good player never hurts.
  6. Considering the 40 at the Nike combines are laser timed, i'd say that a 4.59 qualifies as "special".
  7. it's not the young kid from bearden, but the kid is very talented and should have a breakout year for Farragut on both sides of the ball.
  8. look i'm not hating on AE or anyting, but after week 4 you guys don't play anybody. AE may be loaded, but if you don't have the right coaching then it's pointless. at any rate, i hope they have a good season because i know they have at least 2 good coaches over there. as far as having the toughest schedule in the state...that's nonsense.
  9. i'll just say this...if i'm going to sacrifice time with my family to coach football, i'm going to 1)require discipline 2) teach kids and 3)play who gives the TEAM the best chance to win. You have a RB who has D1 size and speed, but runs scared and you don't think it's important to correct it? Did the OC think he wouldn't need a big back with speed against ootlewah to take some of the pressure off of the qb? you have a WR with good speed, but not so good lateral movement and you try to make him into a feature player when you have @ least 5 more skill position players who can make plays? This isn't aimed at the OC, but why was 30 not playing in the playoffs? why did the coaching staff feel like it wasn't necessary for him to sign his scholarship papers with his other teammates? I understand that playing hs sports is privilege, but that doesn't seem fair to me.
  10. All KIL Prep Extra teams sound pretty, but the only thing that really matters to the kid if he really enjoys football is getting the oportunity to play at the next level. All KIL Prep Extra won't get a kid a scholarship if he isn't good enough.
  11. You can't win championships or advance past the quarterfinals for that matter when your defense keeps you in ball games and your OC plays favorites. These things get exposed when you play really good football teams.
  12. Honestly bro i hope they do. you need to reread my post cuz i'm not going through it again. It's not hard utilize that "gold mine" over there. all it takes is some discipline from the coaching staff. if that means hurting a few feelings then that's what it has to be, but the only ones that matter are the kids.
  13. there are fans that are classless everywhere. AE doesn't have a monopoly on classless fans and yes it is generalizing when you imply that these grown men who allegedly said these things to a 14 y/o girl somehow reflect everyone associated with AE. And how do you know that anybody who said anything to this girl was a ROLE MODEL? A FATHER? you don't cuz it's obvious that if you had ever spoke with someone from east knoxville then you'd know there are hardworking respectable people there. You take a bad experience that could have happened anywhere and turn into "AE fans are classless"....that's very classy. And for the record. Im a farragut fan and I don't really care if kingston or ae won, but you jumped on here acting like bad things only happen in east knoxville and somehow that reflects on a school. that's wrong and you know it. i know people in roane county and we can talk about ROLE MODELS if you like, but you don't want to go there with me so check your on backyard before you generalize about a WHOLE block of ppl you probably never mingled with other than saying"excuse me" or "hello" to. If that was my relative or young girl in general, I would have questioned the MAN who said it to her and we would have figured it out right there. If it was going to get out of hand, I would've located an officer. But hey, maybe i care more for a young girl being assaulted by a GROWN MAN or MEN than you do-
  14. The fact of the matter is farragut couldn't stop ootlewahs run game due in part to sticking with the 3-5-3. i'm not saying if they were in a 4 man front ootlewah wouldn't have scored, but it wouldn't have got out of hand. the other factor is that any defense is going to look bad if their offense keeps going 3 and out. if farraguts offense sustains a few drives in the 1st half, then the defense can and will contain ootlewahs run game. if you wanna talk about who'd win a shootout, it'd be the Ads 9/10 times. Trust me the farragut coaching staff learned from their mistakes and they will make a game out of this one. if you remember, last yr bearden and farragut played twice and we all know how that turned out. obviously i'd like farragut to beat ootlewah, but that is going to be a challenge. if i were on the outside looking in i'd pick ootlewah for the simple fact that they beat the ads so easily earlier this season. i'm a farragut guy so i'm hoping they will pull it off. good luck to both teams-
