  1. Kyle Capstick played high school soccer at St. George's Independent School in Collierville. No club soccer.
  2. Yes, St. George's is in DIIA, the smaller of the DII divisions. St. George's played all of the D2 schools in Memphis. Some of their scores -- lost to St. Agnes 1-0, beat Hutchison 2-1, lost to ECS 3-0, beat White Station 2-1, beat Davidson Academy 8-0. In the Katie Hunter tournament, St. George's went 2-2. Lost to Oak Ridge and Dobyns-Bennett and beat Beech and David Lipscomb. DIIA and DIIAA actually have 8 teams qualify for state, but now that there are two divisions, the sub-state games (quarterfinals) are played at home sites. The 'final four' in both DIIA and DIIAA travel to the finals site. So there are still 8 DII teams traveling to the finals site, just now in two different divisions. In DIIA there are 10 schools across the state in this division for girls soccer. I DIIAA there are a few more, I think 15 or 16 total in girls soccer.
  3. It seems you have left out any mention of players in DIIA in your DII list. There are players on those teams that are deserving of all-state accolades as well.
  4. St. George's, in only their 3rd season of varsity sports, won the DIIA championship. Great accomplishment for those girls. It was the first girls' state championship for the school in any sport.
  5. St. George's 4 Harding 1 St. George's wins title in only 3rd season of varsity sports.
  6. Regular Season Games St. George's 3 Lausanne 2 Harding 3 St. George's 2 Regional games St. George's 4 Lausanne 1 (game shortend by lightening) St. George's 6 Harding 1 Another regular season game for reference St. George's 8 Davidson Academy 0

  8. DIIA West Region 1. St. George's 2. Harding 3. Lausanne 4. Tiption-Rosemark 5. IC
  9. Take a look at this link -> http://www.refblog.com/non-blog/handling_paper.pdf
  10. St. George's - 2 Hutchison - 1
  11. The state bracket of 4 teams will be made up of the winners of the 4 sub-state games. Those 4 sub-state winners will travel to Chattanooga for the semi-finals and finals. Those 4 sub-state winners 'fit' into the state bracket of 4 teams. 4 each for DIIA and DIIAA. The bracket hasn't been set yet, but will be done by the Executive Director after the sub-state games.
  12. Try this - from the tssaa site "In Class A, the top five teams from the West Region and the top three teams from the East/Middle Region shall be eligible to enter the state tournament. The sub-state round of the State Tournament shall be as follows: Site 1: #4 West @ #1 East/Middle Site 2: #3 East/Middle @ #2 West Site 3: #3 West @ #2 East/Middle Site 4: #5 West @ #1 West In Class AA, the top five teams from the East/Middle Region and the top three teams from the West Region shall be eligible to enter the state tournament. The sub-state round of the State Tournament shall be as follows: Site 1: #5 East/Middle @ #1 East/Middle Site 2: #3 East/Middle @ #2 West Site 3: #3 West @ #2 East/Middle Site 4: #4 East/Middle @ #1 West The Executive Director has the authority to select another site if the host's facilities are not adequate tho host the match. The host school should contact the visiting team as soon as possible concerning the site and time of the sub-state match. Schools may mutually agree to play the sub-state match earlier than the scheduled date. The sub-state winners will advance to the central tournament sites, November 1 and 2 and Baylor and GPS in Chattanooga, TN. The bracket shall be set by the Executive Director upon completion of the sub-state round matches." http://www.tssaa.org/Sports/GirlsSoccer/In...nstructions.htm
  13. In DIIA we have the same situation in the West region. 5 out of the 6 teams in the west will fill the 5 of the 8 spots, with 3 going to teams from Mid/East. The region tournament in the west has 6 teams with 1 & 2 getting a first round bye. On day 1, 3 v 6 and 4 v 5. Winners advance to semi's. The losing teams of that first set of games have to play again to determine who the 5th place team will be and advance to one of the final 8 slots in the state playoffs. The playoffs continue to determine a 1-4 finish with losers of the semi's playing to determine 3 and 4 from west.
  14. This is from the Ole Miss site re: last Sunday's game v Colorado College. OM lost 2-1. "In the 38th minute, a member of the Rebel backline sent a ball back to goalkeeper Ann Shelton, and as Shelton approached the kick the ball took a high bounce off a clump of grass and knocked off the side of her foot and in for an own goal. Just two minutes later, Ole Miss was whistled for a foul near its own end line on the left side and Sydney Fetter fired a free kick to the near post. As Shelton went to grab the ball, it hit off her hands and into the net to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead entering halftime. “If you look at the entire game, there’s not an area of the game where we didn’t do extremely well,” head coach Steve Holeman said. “We’re very disappointed in the result. We certainly played well enough to win. The team turned things around from Friday night, and we came out and had an incredible performance. We played hard and we fought hard. I don’t think there’s a question that we didn’t dominate field of play, but the bottom line is that we didn’t get the result.” http://www.olemisssports.com/ViewArticle.d...;ATCLID=1247380
  15. You are correct. DII will still have 8 teams in Chattanooga, but it will be 4 from DIIA and 4 from DIIAA, not 8 from each.
