  1. Let's put last year to bed and start on this year!
  2. No, You're right. Brian did dominate Hill. Pher and Abrigo were not the same thing. Abrigo did it to himself. But now that you mention it. How did a kid as good as Brian Dedman not place at state. Does anyone know what happened there?
  3. He dominated on points because Abrigo kept trying to bridge back on the legs and would end up getting turked, Abrigo didn't know when to quit or that he was giving up points, but it was Pher who was stuck in a cradle the ref did not call. Don't try to make it sound like Pher was mopping the mat with Abrigo. He didn't dominate the match.
  4. I heard that he gave points bridging back on Pher when he had the legs in on Abrigo. I also heard Pher was stuck in a cradle for 30 seconds and the ref never called it. Anyway, Abrigo was a different wrestler by the end of the season than he was in the beginning.
  5. Who is coaching Riverdale this year? What is their lineup?
  6. Sorry about the name and Morgan is wrestling at Forrest. I hear his brother isn't wrestling. He was a state qualifier last year as an 8th grader, but has chosen not to participate this year.
  7. Abrigo lost to Jesse Murphy/FRA, Hussien/Overton, Geasley/Page, ?/Smyrna, Holliman/Brentwood, Felix/Franklin.
  8. I heard Morgan Abrigo was going 130?
  9. Reminds me of 10 years ago driving my son home from his second wrestling practice. I was so proud. Had a chip off the old block and then he so matter of factly turned to me and said, "Dad I don't think I want to go back." Those words haunt me still. Fortunately, I have a daughter who is meaner than a striped snake and we couldn't keep her away from wrestling if I tried. She wants the movie Reversal for christmas and we've seen Vision Quest a hundred times.
  10. What about Forrest High School? Does anybody know how their line up is going to look?
  11. I made a post referencing my insight about Gonyea from a wrestlers outside perspective earlier in the week, but I have to admit Hoosierdad and texas23 have alittle more insight. From the adult perspective I can't help but say Gonyea doesn't quite add up. I don't blame anyone for wanting to beg anonymous but why all of the deception? Also, If Coach Garner produced a failed middle school program why would they give him the high school program? I haven't heard of any wrestling credentials, but even if he had a list a mile long. Good athletes don't always make good coaches.
  12. Blackman should be the team to beat this year in region 5.
  13. I have only been around Tennessee wrestling a short time and I was surprized at the 2005 post season let down Smyrna had and equally as excited about their success in 2006. Either way, Whenever I saw the team they were having fun. I wrestled year around for 12 years and have had many Coaches and I would have loved to wrestled for Gonyea! You can see it in the boys who competed for him.
  14. How is Blackman's turn out? Any upper weights?
  15. Is this the same Grindstaff that wrestled at Cumberland University?
  16. The website is actually www.tennwrestling.com. A couple of years ago it used to be very up to date and informative. With Hamm coaching now I would hope that the website did not go by the wayside as so many others do.
  17. I really think Blackman is going to be outstanding if they can fill a few gaps. Everyone knows the energy that Hamm brings to the sport. If anyone knows, how did Kenny Meredith end up in the post season last year.
  18. Where to you figure Morgan Abrigo is going to wrestle for Tullahoma? He wrestled for Forrest last year and played football for Forrest this year?
  19. I've seen #17 play several times and she deserves to be recognized regardless of the Region. She would be successful anywhere. Her game is complete. She has the necessary size, speed and presence about her to compete at the next level. She can recognize a play as it develops. My hat is off to her.
  20. I think this is going to be the correct order.
  21. I can see bluewhirlygigs point, but I agree with everyone else about the young program and coaching. The problem is how do you measure a guys talent and ability when he makes it look so easy? I would like to know if he competed Nationally to get a national ranking? I just don't have enough facts to make a real assessment, but you all got me watching.
