  1. Any way you slice it, to be one of 34 players across the nation invited to try out, and to catch the eye of USA Basketball enough to be asked to stay on is a remarkable accomplishment, especially for a freshman playing up. Congrats, Bashaara, and good luck in the rest of your basketball career .
  2. Sydney Darnall of Springfield High School is headed to Birmingham, AL, this fall, where she will be a shooting guard for the Lady Panthers at Birmingham-Southern College. A four-year member and Captain of the Lady Jackets varsity squad, Sydney was a 10-AAA standout , earning school MVP, All-Robertson County and All-District honors multiple years. She lead her AAU team the TN Storm to a Sweet Sixteen AAU Nationals appearance in 2007 and ended her AAU career playing for Al Cooper's Clarksville Lady Shox. Sydney is also academically strong: she will graduate 9th in her class of 200+ with a 3.96 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Clubs. She has not yet declared a major but is interested in studying the sciences at BSC. Birmingham-Southern is one of the premier liberal arts colleges in the country. The Lady Panthers just completed their second season in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and are looking forward to NCAA tournament appearances. Congratulations on a job well done, Sydney. Your family and friends are proud of you!
  3. I'm looking for the number / names of Middle TN girls who have scored 1,000 points in their HS careers. Google wasn't a help. Anyone know where I can find this info on the 'net? Thanks.
  4. Congrats to Summer. What a good program. I wish her the best in her college career.
  5. Tues, Dec 9- opening night for district play: let's hear about the games, y'all. Springfield def. Northwest 53-45 at home. Top scorers: Springfield, Sydney Darnall #22, 24 pts (3 - 3 pts) Kymmalett Ross finished with 10 for Northwest.
  6. Springfield won its HOF game vs. White House 49-40. SHS had three girls in double figures and lead the entire game even with the starters hamstrung by foul trouble much of the second half.
  7. Good luck on finding any updates on the TN girls AAU site. I've been trying to find out what went on at the 16u states for weeks now. As to Sunday's games- Semifinals TN Glory over Team Pride Lady Shox over Elite (81-78 in double OT) Finals Glory over Shox (Glory went undefeated for the weekend) Pride over Elite for third
  8. Tn Glory won the championship game; Lady Shox took second place. Who won the consolation?
  9. Anyone have results for the 16u states- DI or DII? There's nothing on the aau website... Thanks.
  10. The only result I know of is 14u championship game: Clarksville Lady Shox over Team Pride Gold, 78-67. Does the TN AAU site ever update?
  11. Henry County by 10 or 11 although I don't remember the exact score. Close game - tied at half; Springfield within 4 points at the final minutes- Henry County pulled away with foul shots once they got in the bonus. Evenly matched teams last night; would have been a very close game if Springfield hadn't made several big mistakes that cost them in the end. This district looks wide open this season.
  12. All three TN teams- the TN Storm, TN Heat and TN Lady Hoopstars- made an appearance in the Sweet Sixteen. Taking the point spread in account, I understand the teams placed 9th, 16th and 11th, respectively.
