Sydney Darnall of Springfield High School is headed to Birmingham, AL, this fall, where she will be a shooting guard for the Lady Panthers at Birmingham-Southern College.
A four-year member and Captain of the Lady Jackets varsity squad, Sydney was a 10-AAA standout , earning school MVP, All-Robertson County and All-District honors multiple years. She lead her AAU team the TN Storm to a Sweet Sixteen AAU Nationals appearance in 2007 and ended her AAU career playing for Al Cooper's Clarksville Lady Shox.
Sydney is also academically strong: she will graduate 9th in her class of 200+ with a 3.96 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Clubs. She has not yet declared a major but is interested in studying the sciences at BSC.
Birmingham-Southern is one of the premier liberal arts colleges in the country. The Lady Panthers just completed their second season in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and are looking forward to NCAA tournament appearances.
