  1. Cosby reminded me of UH in their hyper guards. By now there should be no surprises in what each team can do. One can only think the guys will know they have to stay in front of the guards, not to let them just zoom unimpeded down the court.
  2. THANK YOU! Is it so very difficult to set certain sections for groups of fans?!?!? I'm sure, wherever they wind up playing tomorrow, there will be mixed fans all over the place, when all it would take would be a sign saying UH fans this side, Hampton fans this side. I mean shew
  3. Honestly, that Cloudland score surprised me. I know the Landers are capable of better than that. That said, the semis look interesting!
  4. Also this has been the most even I've seen this district, possibly ever. The tight game with Cloudland didn't surprise me, as they always play us tough, no matter what. District 2 really should look for tough games all around, because none are push overs.
  5. The site ain't what it used to be, is it? I figured when we got to the tourneys, it would amp back up, but not so far
  6. I've been surprised how little conversation has been going on in here
  7. I've been there, been doing my write-ups for my sports page, just been reading the posts on here. Just glad we get to finally host a regional game again!
  8. Lyons is really showing all sorts of potential. I've noticed he's playing on court alongside Oaks more now, which is a tough combo!
  9. They played very sloppy at times, WAY too many turnovers. I knew playing North up there could be very dicey, and I was right. At least they did manage a gut-check win. An ugly win is still a win.
  10. I was surprised by this game. Once the Dogs adjusted to the drive and dish play the Landers ran, they handled them. Now I'm sure the game in Roan Mountain will be much more tightly contested, but this was a big one. Considering what the Landers did to UH earlier, this was a nice statement by the Dogs.
  11. There are bigger, there are newer, but for overall atmosphere and game experience, it's hard to beat JC Campbell Stadium!
  12. Unoit, you guys do a great job on this field. Thank you for your hard work and dedication!
  13. I messaged Jamie about the matter, he said the game info came in too late for the saturday edition, so it was in todays. They managed to have HV at Sullivan North in there, however. Hm. The Hampton write up was on the third page in the sports section today, but of course they had another Elizabethton story on the sports front page, Sigh
  14. Exactly! I've never forgotten that
  15. The Hampton boys looked a bit lethargic tonight, but they more than enough in the tank to take care of the Raiders, 55-29.
  16. Huge win for Hampton over UH in a very tight game, 50-48! Lots of momentum swings and scoring streaks, and it came down to the final seconds. Looks like it's gonna be a very tight, fun-filled district tourney.
  17. The game has been moved to saturday, Varsity girls at 4, the boys at 5:30.
  18. That gym is at least more than big enough to host a tourney. It wouldn't have bothered me if both tourneys were held there. But Unaka?
  19. What a complete crock!!!! And the other coaches agreed to this?!?!? That gym is just barely big enough for a regular season game, not for everybody else's fans in a day of games. Good grief
  20. Hampton went into Sonny Smith Gym and got a huge win, 85-57. I don't really know what's happened with Cloudland this season, but it's obvious the wheels have come off.
  21. BIG win for Hampton at North Greene tonight! 50-48 Dogs!
  22. Rough and tumble game with Unicoi tonight, but the Dogs showed some toughness to win 69-61! Whew
  23. Did you go see them play this evening? What was the final against KACHEA?
  24. The Dogs are really surprising me so far. After all the graduations last year, with no seniors on the team this year, they look really tough. The depth they're showing in subbing five players at a time is amazing. esp. for a single A school. I can only hope they keep this going, and keep working and improving. I'm loving the hustle and work ethic I'm seeing.
