  1. Trust me. The athletes over there don't worry about what people post about them on coach t. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
  2. As a CHS fan, I would love to believe that we have a chance to win this game. But common sense tells me that Antioch will take this one.
  3. I won't repeat anything, but I agree. Some of you guys are taking it way too far. Back to the game. The Princeton offense (thanks donathan5507) seems to be a perfect fit for Centennial if the want to win this game. Kelly has the two big men near the basket at all times and this way he has the option of going to either one. Checking the Franklin roster, I don't see anyone over 6'5, so they've got the size advantage down low. This offense will help them utilize that a little better.
  4. Not being that basketball savvy, can anyone give me a little lesson on the Princeton offense?
  5. Am I seeing that Brentwood score right? 32 points??? Wow! That reminds me when I was there and guys like Bryce, Shekeb, and Konrad were tearing it up. Indy is no slouch, they play some serious ball and have a lot of dangerous kids in that lineup. It should be a close game all night long and hopefully the old alma-mater will pull it out.

Fairview. They had some success now and then, but they were depleted by the time Mark got there. He led them to I believe 4 playoff appearances in his tenure.

I personally love this hiring for Centennial. I know Mark personally and he's the kind of guy that will bring out the full potential of his players. He's not afraid to let the players have a little fun out there, but he also demands 110% fom his players. He's got probably one of the best work ethics in the county and that will rub off on the players by the the end of training camp. He's a good coach as he's been known to turn a program around pretty quick. I see nothing but good years ahead for the Cougars.
  8. I'm actually gonna try to make this game. This will be my first basketball game of the year, so I'm hoping a good one. I'm going with Centennial by 12.

I didn't know he was let go the day before the last game. I thought he was let go after, that is bad timing I'll say what I said in the other thread. Every day without a coach is a day of training lost. A day of conditioning lost. A day to learn the new system lost. I really don't understand why they are waiting so long, unless they have their man in mind and are taking their time finalizing everything. But they owe it to the students, the parents, and the players to get this done as soon as possible.
  10. Princess, you obviously have been following the program for a while. You listed some very old-school names on that list. Some of those guys I've had the pleasure of playing with and they are living proof that heart is the only thing that matters in football. CHS07, I can see where you're coming from with the spread offense. One thing that you also need to run a successful spread is a smart, heads-up QB. The QB is always going to be pressured. He just needs to keep his eyes on the entire field and not make rash decisions with the ball. That is (in my opinion) the main component to a successful spread. Personally, I never was a fan of spread formations, but it does work well with some teams.
  11. Okay, I don't usually advocate the use of CoachT, but as a former Centennial player, I feel compelled to comment on this thread. First off, yes Centennial has beaten Franklin in JV at least once, I know this because I was on the team when it happened. I think the freshman team might also have a few wins. As for the whole Gregory situation, I don't really have much to add. I went through the same thing when coach Rollins left. Getting a new coach is a lot more complicated then it sounds. It takes a while for a team to learn to trust the new coach. Gregory is a great guy and was a good coach who led a team that was seemingly going nowhere into a Region contender. I think he just got caught up in a few bad seasons but it wasn't all his fault. The players made a lot of fundamental mistakes that just comes from the youth and inexperience. I wish Coach Gregory the best in wherever his future leads him. As for the new coach, you never know who it's gonna be until the moment he's hired. Speculation does absolutely nothing. Personally, I think some of these people just posted random names to start discussion. Gregory could have mentioned a few names, but he could have been talking about anything. (By your posts, I assume he still has a position at the school). The point is just mentioning names will lead you nowhere. And believe it or not, it can also hurt the reputation of coaches, (which is why I never liked this board). So be careful what you post. Centennial fans, all I can say is keep the faith. You can go 10-0 next year or you can go 0-10. But you'll never know for sure until the season starts. So no matter what, get out there, support your team, and let the boys know your behind them. To all my Cougars, I'M OUT!
