  1. True tiger fans will always be a part of Tiger Nation!!!! Last week, we didn't show up until the 2nd half. It was our game to lose and we did....to be fair, after the scoreboard went out at the beginning of the 4th quarter, it was confusing and a mess!!!!
  2. I attended the Cornerville Scrimmage. Tigers looked good......of course there are some things to improve on but that's what scrimmages are for.....to find problems and fix them before the season starts!
  3. Don't count anyone out in this District. Fayetteville made it to the 3rd round of the Playoffs last Season........they do have a lot of talent!
  4. We shall see...I wouldn't count out anybody!!!!!!
  5. Oops thanks so much. I was early when l found it. Must have been still asleep. Thanks for the information!
  6. I researched this all weekend. Finally this morning I found the Final Score. McEwen 66, Leadership Academy 40. I have no idea as to what the strengths and weakness are of of either of them. I can't find any information on either team.
  7. Fayetteville has a talented team and most of their losses were by 2 points or less. They took MTCS and Collinwood down down to the wire...both games were won on a last second shot. Having said that, Fayetteville will only lose 2 Seniors this year so they will be a team to watch for the 2014-2015 season.
  8. Fayetteville is in its 1st year as as Vzrsity team. We only have about 20 players and we have played with a lot of injuries this year. Through it all, our players never gave up and kept believing in each other and the team. To be one of the last 8 teams still in the Playoffs is an awesome accomplishment for such a young team. When all is said and done, regardless of the outcome., we the Tiger Nation could not be more proud of the Players and the Coaching Staff! Keep playing......you set your own Destiny and this year will always be remembered as the year of the TIGER!!!! GO FAYETTEVILLE TIGERS............PLAY WITH PRIDE, DETERMINATION AND INSPIRATION!!!!!,
  9. As a Tigerfan, I must say that this was one of the worst football games that I have seen. Our offense was awful but our defense was on point., During the game there were numerous delays due to an inefficient scoreboard. It would start and stop so the players and refrees were just standing in the field. This was a hard fought and due the bad luck of a blocked punt, we came out on the losing end. We are still very confident of our players, coaches and team. It's only midway I the season - so it ain 't over yet! Best of luck MC in your upcoming games, a great win for you.
  10. City not only plays teams with 9th and 10th graders. Apparently you haven't been to any games. The majority of City players are 10th graders and they are playing teams with 11th graders. If you look at TSSAA rules this is allowed. As far as academics everyone has their own opinion. I do believe that good Coaches make good teams and mutual respect also plays an important part. As we all know everyone believes in their team Win or lose. Last year the City tigers had a rough year because they were mostly 9th graders playing 10th and 11th graders. They have and are continuing to get better. As far as NGA, duh, they are a 9th grade school not a high school, so there shouldn't be any comparison between the 2.
  11. Fayetteville City is in its 2nd year. They are playing 9th, 10th,and 11th graders so of course they are playing JV games. Next year they will be playing Variety and having played together for 4 years they will be ready. Why do players want to play for City? Maybe its because they are treated with respect and they believe in the coaches and in each other. As far as academics- Lincoln county high school is a joke. Go to the TN Dept of Education website and look at test scores. Parents choose schools for their children based on many factors. Its not only about althletics. You can bet if the Falcons were having a winning season, people wouldn't be playing the blame game. DT has really made a mess of the program at Lincoln County.
  12. Sometimes be areful what you wish for. I remember when City got their new high School and some people in the County were praying that it would fail. Now into Its second year- it is flourishing not only in academics but also in sports. he biggest problem for the county seems to be that football is what they concentrate on first instead of academics. Some say that players want to go to the City High School so there must be a reason why. Most parents want a good education first and sports second. FALCON football has always ruled Lincoln County. Now there's A new kid in town and from what I've seen and from what people are saying Fayetteville City Tigers are shaping up to be a powerhouse. It shows not only in the players attitude but also in the coaches- they beloved in each other and They believe that they have what it takes to win.
  13. How well will they play against a good team- Ask Sigel and Giles County!
  14. Fayetteville is a new High School. They have No Juniors or Seniors. They have 4 9th graders, 3 10th graders and 1 8th grader. They chose to play a Varsity Scheule in order to get stronger. They will be the team to beat within the next 2 years. They are loaded with talent but they are very young
  15. We are a brand new high school - we have 1 eighth grader, 4 9th graders, and 3 10th graders - #30 is Mr. Keith - a 9th grader and he is awesome!
  16. Two great teams - who will win? Who has the advantage?
  17. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> As a parent of a Marshall County Tigerette, I am proud of what these young ladies accomplished this year. Everyone counted them out at the beginning of the season and yet they ended up with a record of 30-1. They are a classy group of young ladies and I am proud to have folllowed them for the past 4 years. This is a very special group of young ladies because the Seniors have played together for a long time and they are friends on and off the court. Monday night a chapter of the Tigerette's Play Book was closed, however, they have nothing to be ashamed of. I, as a parent and a Tigerette fan, believed in them until the final buzzer. To the underclassmen: Artavia, LaRhonda, and DaRhonda - Carry on the Tigerette Tradition of Winning - To the Seniors - Lauren, make us proud at MTSU, NeNe, continue your success where ever you choose to go, Andraya, believe in your self and do your best and Jakerra - although your basketball career is over (your choice), best of luck at Belmont or Vanderbilt, - you have your head on straight and the sky's the limit!!!!! People will always say what they want to say - but remember, as a team you prevailed through a lot. Coach West - you are a exceptional coach and thank you for all the hard work and believing in the spirit of leadership, good sportsmanship and helping the team believe in each other. Coach Henry and Coach Spray, thanks for your support and for also believing in the Marshall County Tigerettes. It has been an awesome ride and the ride of a lifetime!!!! You are all Winners!!!! Lots of Love to ALL of you!!! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  18. Considering that no team is perfect, Marshall's County's Defense should stand the test of time (hopefully). If I remember correctly, this is the same team that played Gibson County at the state last year. They are ALOT more athletic this year and a heck of a lot quicker. Coach T had teams ranked by their defense and Marshall County was ranked pretty good on defensive stats. As far as being run out of the gym - hope everyone has on their running shoes!!! It could go either way - if/when they happen to meet up down the road! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. Believe me, I do watch videos of each game that Marshall County plays. I have a copy of every game for the last 4 years and I watch them regularly. I have seen nothing out of the ordinary. All I can say is that sometimes people see what they want to see. During time outs, players are constantly checking back in, after being on the bench. Maybe she did get close to the opposing team while checking back in, but knowing Lauren as I do, she is a very smart young lady and I am sure that during a game, her mind is focused on winning, not what the other team is doing. As far as cheap tricks, as I stated before, other coaches have told their players to try and hurt a Marshall County player during a game-- that's a cheap trick. I'd like to know the importance of this - is it inform? or is it to try to bring embarrassment or is it out spite? What purpose does it serve? Apparently Marshall County played you and won - game over! I do know the game of basketball, having played and watched many a high school game and college game. If the TSSAA hasn't said anything ( if anything occurred) then apparently nothing happened or you do have a problem with this particular player. Having done research since you posted, I can find nothing about team timeouts and where players should stand. I do stand by my previous post. Envy and defeat are hard pills to swallow. When all is said and done, Lauren March is a very smart young lady and an awesome basketball player. I wish her and the Tigerettes the best of luck in the games to come. Play hard and play smart! /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  20. As an avid basketball fan, It seems to me that there is apparently a disgruntled parent whose team has lost to Marshall County recently. I have attended every basketball game that Marshall County has played in the last 4 years, home and away and I have NEVER seen this player outside the huddle at team time outs. To call attention on this board to a player and to call that player's name sounds like an outright case of jealousy, plain and simple. I don't know if it's jealously because your team lost or jealously because she is a Miss Basketball Finalist. I really don't think that Lauren or any other player on her team gives a flip as to what plays the other team is calling at time out. You make her sound like a super spy. I am sorry that YOUR team didn't win against Marshall County, but please remember that when two teams play,on any given night, there is only one winner. As far as the coach, Boyd West is a great coach and he genuinely cares about his players. If this incident had occurred, I am sure that he would have been informed of it and appropriate actions would have been taken. Apparently, you are not aware that good teams watch film of the opposing team over and over, so they already know most of the other teams plays before game time. As far as glory, during a previous game, Coach West wasn't the coach who threw a tantrum and got a technical during a game and he wasn't the coach that told his players to take out a Marshall County player by any means possible during a game. Glory is a harsh word to use. I am sure that he is very proud of his team. He has a reason to be. I don't think that he needs Lauren as a spy, he is a very, very smart coach, and he has his game plan all thought out before each game. Please don't hate. Marshall County has a great group of young ladies, who are humble, play one game at a time, who exhibit extraordinary sportsmanship skills and who are very dedicated to the game of basketball. As far as biased- what is biased!!! Lauren is a high school player , she fouls, makes mistakes, misses shots and misses free throws just like any other player. The losing team always wants to blame the lost game on the refrees, but the truth is, no coach or referee puts on a team uniform and I guess sometimes teams have to beat the opposing team and the referees. Had your team won, this subject would never have been brought up! Everyone has opinions, but please remember that these are young adults and we should set good examples for them. Your opinion is what you believe, but please don't spew hate and cause malacious gossip that is not true.! A man/woman is judged by his/her words as well as his/her actions! Hope that you enjoy the Championship Game and the Consolation Game - they should be good ones /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Marshall County Tigerettes - Keep your heads up, play hard, believe in each other, take one game at a time and keep striving to be the best! We believe in you and we are very, very proud of your accomplishments!
  21. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> Marshall County Tigerettes are the defending 2008 AA State Champions. Will they bring home the gold ball, that remains to be seen. As far as Loretto and Lewis County, they always seem to bring their A game against Marshall County when they play Marshall County on their home court. Great teams have off nights - no team plays a perfect game all season. The Tigerettes are a very good basketball team and a lot more athletic than last year. They return 2 players that were all State in 2007 and in 2008 as Sophmores. They also have a team where on any given night, any player can step up and be the leading scorer. Lauren is an awesome player but don't forget that offense and defense win ball games. Each player on the team brings something to the table - great offense, the three point shot, and superior defense. Remember, this was the team that most people believed wouldn't do anything this year - yet they stand 26-0 at the moment, having played some of the best teams in the State of Tennessee. This is an awesome acomplishment for a great group of hardworking young ladies. I can guarantee that as District and Region play heats up - the Tigerettes will show up - they have a great coach in Coach West and his supporting staff and Lauren March, Ne Ne McLean, Artavia Bryant , and Jakerra Simmons and the rest of the supporting cast will play some of the best basketball that they have ever played and they will play hard until the end of each game. The target is on their back, but up to this point, they have proven that they control their own destiny. I am sure that they are taking one game at a time and focusing on one team at a time. Anyone who has seen them play this year will agree that they play team ball and they have an intensity that doesn't quit until the final buzzer. At this stage of the game, no one knows who is going to Murfreesboro - just as it has been in the past - by State Tournament time, some of the best teams will be either watching someone else play or watching it on TV because they got over confident and think that they are invincible. Best of luck to all the teams - Marshall County Tigerettes keep playing your game ,take one game at a time, believe in yourselves, each other and keep your eyes on the prize!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  22. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> GC Pioneer I REALLY enjoy your posts. No only do you know a lot about basketball but you also keep it real. As far as who will win the AA Gold Ball, no one knows because surprises happen after the regular season. Good teams play one game at a time. Getting to the State is an accomplishment but remember you have to get there first . There is no magic wand that says because you finish the season with a perfect record - you get a free pass to the State. At the beginning of post season play, all records are 0-0 and in the end the 8 best teams punch their tickets. As far as McMinn Central being the team to beat - that is one person's opinion., because there are a lot of great teams in AA. Good teams are tested by the quality of teams that they play. Marshall County doesn't want a pity party - about who left last year and the fact that certain girls didn't get to play. - The Tigerettes are focused on today and winning one game at a time - not what happened in the past. They know that hard work defines who they are as a team. Best of luck to all the teams in their post season play! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  23. Congratulations to Marshall County's Justin Braden for achieving the awesome goal of rushing for 1000 yards this season!!!! You are an awesome player and you give your team and the fans 150% every game!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  24. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> Neither of us can change anything - The only thing I do think is that the 1st 2 fouls were crazy and that did take the heart out of the Gibson Team, as far as McMinn, they had 15 offensive rebounds, but what did they do with them? Nothing. Reading the Tennesean, I noticed that the McMinn coach admitted that. McMinn does return everyone but don't forget that Marshall returns the State MVP, the X Factor, great Defense and an awesome inside game. Who knows what will happen at the next State Tournament, we have to get through the Regular Season. Region and Sub-State before anyone can even think about the State. 8 teams will return to the State, whether or not Marshall makes it back depends on the heart and will of the team. For now, I think that the girls are content to enjoy the results of all the hard work that they put in and they are excited to be ordering Championship Rings, Jackets, enjoying the banner and polishing the Gold Ball. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  25. Marshall County shot 26 free throws but they didn't hit 26 free throws and they scored more than 26 points. Central's Defense was no match for Marshall County's Defense and Central's Defense had no answer to Marshall's inside game. We could debate this until doom's day and everyone has his or her own opinion but the fact remains: Game Over - Marshall County has the Gold Ball. I am curious though: The Austin-East /McMinn Central game was a brawl and a knock out drag down at best, but I haven't seen one post about it - I saw more hits, kicks ,knocks and pushing that I ever have in a basketball game but strangely no one has said a word about it. In conclusion, Congratulations to all teams who made it to the State - 8 teams will make it back to the state, all I can say is work hard and keep your eyes on the prize.
