CSAS has Coach Dragoo and he is not only the best coach in that district hands down but one of the best in TN. I don't know anything about the rest of those teams and their coaches. I would say CSAS #1 and everyone else throws their name in a hat and draws their position.

Agreed OP. As one who lives "across the time line" but who has many friends in Jasper and SP you can bet the program there will be scrutinized, as any program should be who wants and needs to be competitive. Good luck to the staff there and good luck to the mighty men of Vic Grider.

I have talked with coaches here that said he probably only intended to be there at SP only a short time to finish his administration program then move on to a big basketball job which it seems he has done. Did I read in the Jasper paper that he only took the baseball job because no one else would and he wanted to help them out? May be a rambler but he is a heckuva basketball coach. I wish him well.

Seen em play in Chattanooga...lots of talent but not a great deal of motivation and team play...better work on that first. You posting on basketball now OP? Man you better stick to football...that is the national game in SP...not the round ball....not by a country mile.

I imagine you would see a highly motivated well coached team that would dominate this tourney. Doubt the Coach would waste his time playing in it though...too much Manure in it.

Now Topper, lets be fair to old Manure. All those people moving to Sequatchie Co will no doubt improve the gene pool. Coach T in that tournament would be big.

Have you made that call yet? I am sure all of us here in the Chattanooga area would love to see his team in this area.

Pick up the phone and call the new head coach at Perry Co, MS. He might come to your tournament...but you might have to pay his gas bill.

Coach Thompson was not a full time replacement...he was just a fill in to help those folks over there out. That is what I read in the Jasper paper. According to sources in Chattanooga he is taking a head basketball job somewhere in TN or MS. That is where he belongs anyway. Never could understand why he did it . Good luck Coach.

I know nothing of this coach or his record but I will say Hixson HS is in a total mess from top to bottom. The Hamilton County Schools are horrible with the excetion of the new Signal Mountain school which will now get all of the attention simply because they look down on all of us. I doubt very seriously that they had over 3 applicants for this job if they had any with the way they did Coach Eller. So lets not bash this new coach...I would applaud him for risking his reputation by even agreeing to take a job no one else wants.

Was this the same Coach Thompson that was at Tyner several years ago? If so I played against them when I was a player at East Ridge. He ran about 4 different types of presses. They would eat you up with that pressure. Of course he had the athletes to do it with.

The rumor in Chattanooga is he is returning to the hardwood somewhere in KY or IN. I would have thought he would coach at your place with the way things have been. Terrific basketball coach with several state tourney trips . What in the world was he doing coaching baseball to begin with? Coached basketball here at Tyner in the 90's. Let's get real about Eller...they were a .500 ballclub with him and when he was transferred they went on a 15 game winning streak. Jodie and Mitch just flat out coached this Johnson "dude"...someone from the TSSAA needs to conduct a sportsmanship clinic in the Memphis City Schools system. Do they hold their coaches accountable? Oh well nobody cares about Memphis teams anyway.
