Humboldt beat Trenton Peabody 5 times in the 06-07 season. Twice in the regular season, in the Gibson Co. Christmas tourn. , in the distict consolation game, and in the region championship.

Yes they were home and that's ok because Humboldt fans can admit that last year's team was certainly no match for Manassas. My wife and I were there just to see some good basketball and we saw some. We saw a team that knew how to handle the pressure and come back to win state and one that only knew how to buckle and fold under pressure.

No I very definitely remember being there on Sat. last year and I don't recall there being that many Manassas fans there. It's just as well though if there had been a lot they would have had to drive home disappointed just like those of you who were there.

Then I respectfully say don't come watch.

I'll guarantee you Humboldt will be well represented on Wed. We've been hoping for this return to the 'boro all season and we'll not let our team down now. As for Manassas....don't know. They weren't well represented last year on Sat. at all I didn't think. This Wed. may be different.

Well said Red. I'd like to know what the odds are of Humboldt and Manassas being the first two teams drawn. It is what it is though and Humboldt knows what it has to do now. Prepare and be focused.......GO VIKINGS!

I heard or read somewhere that the T.$.$.A.A. did sanction them for playing too many games last year as well they should have. Everyone should have to play by the same rules. But it basically amounts to a slap on the wrist.

Congrats to Lake Co. Hate to say it but Humboldt played terribly tonight.....too many turnovers and ill advised shots. Lake Co pressure got to them and we played poor defense. But realistically Bradford is the only team left in 14a with a chance of making it to the boro.

I was at that game last year and even though the Manassas fans were very vocal, for the most part they were very nice. Except for one guy sitting on our side down low who kept turning around taunting us. I believe he may have had a little something to drink.

Here's something interesting about Legend that no one has called him out on. Remember the thread he started about AP voters don't look at win/loss records in voting rather look at strength of schedule. Well, I agree. That would seem to make the most sense. So in other words Legend doesn't like the AP poll...doesn't think it's fair. And yet now he's on here spouting off about how Manassas beat AP #5 ranked 3a Craigmont. Remember Legend that AP ranking doesn't mean anything. I know you feel Humboldt shouldn't be ranked #1 and maybe they shouldn't. Humboldt fans don't care about that ranking they only care about Humboldt's players and how they're doing and that they keep improving. I'm smart enough to know that Craigmont is a very good team and i'm sure they have a very tough schedule. I also know that Manassas is a very good team as well but I understand that the win was kind of a miracle win on a prayer three at the buzzer....the CA article said it was. Our assistant coach was at the game and said that on into the 3rd period even that Buckner only had 7 points. Humboldt fans are just as pumped about their team as you are yours but every time you open your mouth about Humboldt it's negitive. With Humboldt's wins it's not as if they're winning by 5 or 10 points they're blowing these teams out except for UC and Lake Co. and that just shows the quality of those programs. Humboldt may not win state but these guys are playing with a whole different demeanor this year....they are on a mission and we are behind them 100%. I hope we get the opportunity to meet in the Boro and then we'll see who the best really is.

I was told from someone who knows that the reason we continue to play Milan and GC is because the gates are always so big. We as Humboldt fans would love to see Humboldt play stiffer competition to make them better down the stretch but I don't guess that is going to happen. I wish Humboldt would stop playing in the GC Christmas tournament and play in some in some harder in state tournaments or out of state ones but I have a feeling that money is probably an issue there as well. Maybe things will change next year when we have less district opponents.

Congrats to the Vikings on the win tonight and by the way the girls won too....61-57, a really good hard fought game. Trenton girls have a lot of talent but so does Humboldt. If the boys continue to improve like they should they will be the best team i've seen Humboldt put on the floor. Guard play needs to improve most of all but they definitely have the kids who can meet the challenge.

I don't recall any post where anyone said it was a big game especially Humboldt people. But I do remember UC people and others saying UC would win by 4 or 5 and that Humboldt would not blow them out.....but they did. Only a couple of your people predicted that UC would lose. The tone of your post seems to reveal that you are very angry over getting beat so bad.....not fun being on the receiving end of those believe me we know. Humboldt may or may not have issues with discipline and coaching but I know that coach Boykin has won some really big games and we support him as long as he is in that position. I'm sure his goal is to win a state title and share that honor with your coaches and I hope this is his year. No one is trying to take anything away from what UC has accomplished in the past but this is a new season and so they are down....you just have to deal with it. Yankee 8589 is right though...the way you come across really makes some of us in the district want to pull against UC.

After the young lady had been taken out of the gym I was amazed to hear a female UC fan yell across at the Humboldt fans ,"Hope yall happy now." I can't imagine that anyone would be happy to see something like that ever again. Our hearts and prayers go out to that young lady and her family.
