  1. So we're to assume that Aikens, Reynolds, Caldwell, current intern coach are all Church of Christ? I know for sure that one on that list was. I would think being a Christian leader would certainly be a requirement, but being specifically "Church of Christ" would seriously limit your applicants.
  2. I also appreciate their effort to cover Chattanooga football. As for the ratings of the Red Bank guy, you simply cannot let the words "they haven't played anybody" come out of your mouth when you have Red Bank as the #1 team.
  3. Silverdale is vastly improved over what they were when they played CCS in week 3. In the game against CCS, they had 6 turnovers in the 1st half alone, which put the game in mercy rule the entire 2nd half. The Silverdale / ND game was on local TV and although the game got out of hand in the 4th quarter, Silverdale was pretty competitive in the 1st quarter. They took the ball on their 2nd possession of the game and drove it about 80 yards for a TD. In particular, their misdirection plays were working well for them. Since ND didn't pass much, I couldn't tell a lot about their pass defense, which they will certainly need against Grace, but their DB got burned on a long pass right before the half, which was inexcusable. Their victory over Boyd was a long time coming as I don't think they had ever beat them before.
  4. I saw him last year and he was definitely a load. I just hope he doesn't flop on the ground when the ball is snapped like Webb's entire DL did against us. We apparently don't have a solution for that.
  5. ND has a lot of big guys up front and has the speed guys too. Run vs Run ... we'll see.
  6. Boyd has become GPS East.
  7. I was there. Very disappointing game for CCS. These teams should NOT be 28 points apart. Obviously, Webb has the speed players and will score at least 3 easy TD's a game against CCS, but the fact that CCS only scored 7 surprised me. When you're playing 11 on 11 in between the hash marks, it only takes 1 missed block to ruin a play, which happened often.
  8. I feel awful for the Boyd football team ... the kids deserve better. On a side note, I bet the Boyd cheerleader uniforms looked great!
  9. Well, if you saw the CCS/Baylor game, then you probably think Webb is going to beat CCS by about 49-0. That game was pathetic ... our kids were beat before the game started. I didn't expect them to win, but at least compete! Mondo hasn't really been unleashed this year. He's only played in 2 full games (Lookout Valley & Howard). We only played 1 half of the McCallie game because of weather. No starters played in the 2nd half of Boyd & Silverdale because of mercy rule. He got hurt against CAK and didn't play in 2nd half & didn't play at all against Baylor because of the same injury. Hopefully, he'll be ready for the last 3 region games. If you guys would turn the ball over 4-5 times, it sure would help.
  10. CCS is very much like last year. This year, we're passing a little more, but I don't think that will help us against Webb. Our schedule is exactly the same as last year and we've won/lost the same games as last year. I'm hoping that our run game is better and we can control the line in a similar way that ND did against Webb. Looking forward to coming up Friday and spending the day in Knoxville.
  11. I pick Webb to win this in a close one, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see ND pull out a win. I was very surprised to see how Webb handled GCA ... and ND hasn't really played anybody (but Baylor). On the other hand, Webb's TOUGH early schedule has them prepared for the AA level.
  12. I don't doubt it. The backfield at the big M is set for the next 2-3 years along with most of the OLine. Good football players don't like sitting on the sidelines waiting their turn.
  13. Curiosity question ... If the high school team you support had 22 starters (nobody went both-ways) ... would it be a better team, worse team, or about the same? CCS has been trying to use 22 starters all year even though our opponents usually always have 6-7 kids playing both ways. There are a few minor exceptions where Mondo sometimes plays safety (doesn't start) and our starting CB comes in for Mondo when he is tired, but for the most part, CCS has 22 starters. Due to injuries to 2-3 players, this game might be a little different, but I doubt it.
  14. Living so close to Georgia provides the Chattanooga athletes an additional transfer option to avoid the T$$AA transfer rules. I've seen many kids transfer to north Georgia schools so they don't have to sit out a year - I think they can then come back (if they want) a year later to a different school (I could be wrong on that).
  15. Now that I've seen all of the teams in the D2-AA East, these are my observations on how the teams stack up. ND, Webb & GCA are much better than the other 4. I think on any given day, one team could beat the other two. ND might have a slight edge, but it's not much. Then there is a BIG difference to the next group of teams - CCS, CAK & Boyd, which I also believe are really close. All three of these teams are better than Silverdale - but not much better. The difference between the top 3 teams above and this group of 3 teams is much larger than Silverdale vs (CCS, CAK or Boyd). And the difference is mostly team speed.
  16. The Georgia state line is 2 miles down the road and it's a private school. I don't understand the problem. McCallie has kids from Canada & Europe.
  17. Not gonna happen ... I'm counting on Webb to show mercy, as they normally do.

    GCA @ CCS

Baylor & McCallie do NOT charge for parking ... only the AA teams
  19. MPrep already has CCS playing Webb on November 4th, so I guess GCA has already beat CCS and I just missed it. MPrep already has Webb playing CPA on November 11th too, so for CCS, we're just wasting our time! All of the Chattanooga DII-AA teams charge $5 to park, which I really don't like either. But I've found places to park really close to each school so I don't have to pay (except Silverdale, as they charge for the church parking lot too).

    CCS @ ND

I think you probably already know the answer to that.
  21. Yes, that is correct. I like your idea of 1 team from each section NOT making the playoffs. It would be so easy and you wouldn't have to change the bracket from year to year like they're doing now.

    CCS @ ND

Any school in Chattanooga that needs help with the TSSAA had better get help from Baylor and/or McCallie ... why do you think CCS is playing both of them in football this year?
  23. Chattanooga Christian Mondo Ellison - Jr #3 8 games - 1,284 yards rushing - 15 TD

    CCS @ ND

It's funny how people only see a game from their team's perspective. Webb literally "gave it to CCS" ... did CCS give it to Webb when Mondo fumbled early in the game setting up great field position for Webb? How about that fake put CCS tried to give Webb another touchdown? When Webb played ND, the 2 blocked puts were the difference and Webb gave it to ND, but it doesn't count when CCS gives it to Webb. And did Webb "load the box" all night long? Did it work? I think Mondo ran for 220, so how about giving the kid some credit for gaining so many yards against the loaded box all night. And all of the Webb players were missing and they still one the game ... but don't mention that our starting QB was out with mono. One thing for certain about this year ... Chattanooga Christian is the most under rated team in DII-AA ... they were picked to finish 18th out of 19 teams. Are they as good as Webb, ND, GCA? No, they're not ... but they are getting better ... and Mondo (along with most of the offense) is back next year.
