  1. Hunters Lane definately will not not be able to make noise in the region duals, if they decide to wrestle like they did last night @ McGavock. Honestly HL does not match up head to head with McGavock very well on paper, and turns out I was right about that. But I think if they decide to wrestle like they should they could have a outside chance of turning some heads.
  2. He lost to Richie Ward from Ravenwood, 9-5 his second match of the year, but Kerry was extremely out of shape, just go done with football, I actually thought he was going to die in the match, he looked so bad. But I am not taking anything away from Ward, he wrestled a great match and deserved to win that match.
  3. Ya the Corley match was very fun to watch, Yahya wrestled well, but I think he might have been a little heavier than 135!
  4. Good luck beating Corley at 125 from Hunters Lane
  5. 21-1, but it looks like he is not wrestling this weekend at Hendersonville
  6. Grasshopper??? Damaj Wilson transferring from PJ2 will make Hunters Lane a better team, whether or not that is in the near future, we don't know yet, right not it is looking like he will be a great addition for next year.
  7. Can someone tell what the entry fee is again???
  8. It would have been 20 to 11 when it restarted, with 1:23 left in the match
  9. The Hunters Lane coach was pushing for the nails to be cut because his guy kept bleeding from getting scratched. His blood time was about up because the cuts were deep enough that they would not stop bleeding. If you were a coach and your guy kept getting scratched and had the possibility of losing the match because he could not stop bleeding, you would most likely ask the referee to check the other kids nails because that is the most common reason for the scratches and cuts. Besides after the first cut, the coach asked the nails to be checked, the referee said no, Dowell used three minutes of blood time, then after starting the match again, he developed three new scratches, one of which was bleeding, he asked the referee to check the nails again, the referee did so, I can tell you the coach did not want the Cordova kid to get disqualified, he simply wanted his guy to stop getting cut to ensure that he was not going to be disquailified himself for blood time.
  10. 125 would have been a great battle between Casteel and Corley form Hunters Lane, but now it looks like Casteel is not going to be there, big let down for Tony Corley, he is looking very impressive, and is getting better and better each time he steps on the mat. Only has two defeats, one to an Alabama state champ and a 8-7 defeat to Ford from Ravenwood, his third match of the year, but this past weekend he majored Ford for third place.
  11. You guys are crazy to think Reynolds was going to even possible pull that match out. Any one that watched that matched should have seen that twice Reynolds completely laid flat on his back for a good two seconds each time but the referee was to slow to call the pin, and besides 20-11 is a pretty good lead with 1:23 left in the match, Kerry is too good to give up a lead like that, he might be a little sloppy at times which he realizes but there is no way he would have given up a lead of that size, not to mention he started the match down, 0-4. Great job kerry, don't let anyone try to take that match away from you!
  12. Hunters Lane just got a new addition, Damaij Wilson from PJ2, placed 4th last year, will proably be wrestling 135 for the Warriors, that is going to make a huge difference in points at tournaments and duals!!!! As long as his transcripts are good, he will be good to wrestle immediately!!! Go Warriors
  13. Don't forget about Hunters Lane, just added to tournament and 125 should really be a battle now, with Corley coming off a strong showing at Ravenwood, defeating Sean Ford for 3rd, 9-1. 140 should be very interesting as well, with Dowell dropping from 145, 140 should have three ranked wrestlers, Germantown and Kenwood along with Dowell from HL
  14. It is Grindstaff not grinderstaff, grinder is the the nickname
  15. Listen the HL WC Dual, ya the score was brutial for HL but I can personally tell you that HL is very young and they are to much like a roller coaster right now. when they are at their best, with people wrestling the way they should be, the guys are extremely tough. When they decided they want to wrestle like they did their previous years, they get dominated. I keep hoping each week that they are on the way up the hill instead of down. Right now we keep going up and down, up and down, I guess it depends on the weather!
  16. I understand that HL did not do as well as I could have hoped but they did a great job with what they were given. Their 189 would have been the third seed and would have been able to give them quite a few more points if he would have showed up to practice on Friday. The wilson Cental kid that placed 3rd at 189, HL beat Thursday night very easily. That hurt HL along with a few other injuries. HL has yet to show up but you have to admit, they are looking a lot stronger than they were in the years past!
  17. After being involved with midstate wrestling now for about a month, I can see that the team to beat in Region 7 is Antioch or maybe Glencliff, but if you had to look across the board and see which team is up and coming, it would have to be Hunters Lane. They have some athletes and technically sound wrestling that are really starting to develop into state contenders. I swear to you, HL will be a top ten team by the end of the year. In order to be a top ten team at state you have to score roughly 50 points, and two finalists will get you 50 points, HL has two that have serious potential to make it to the finals. They might not be that deep at every weight class but they have very good athletes with a line-up that is all Freshman and sophmores exept two seniors, 125, 145.
  18. I am going to make a bold prediction, Hunters Lane will finish top two at Beech this weekend! And if they wrestle the way they should, they will finish First!!!
  19. What do you think, the top five teams are in the Metro School District?
  20. I will be honest, Abirgo was not impressive, he is an overrated wrestler, that will not be a state champ at 145, or 152. There was plenty of other wrestlers that were better than YaYa at 215 for OW, i.e. 130 - Price, 125 - Corley, 145 - Dowell. That is the truth!
