  1. Surprised no one has started a thread on this. So let the predictions and smack-talk begin!
  2. Looks like I need to eat a good helping of crow for saying Sweetwater was gonna win. I'm sorry I doubted Rockwood and I'm really proud of the way you all kept plugging away after giving up a 16 point lead at the end of the third and the game being tied twice. Lesser teams would have given up but to your credit, you all didn't. Bryant Allen had a heck of a game tonight. 3 Touchdowns and 134 yards on 21 carries plus 6 tackles. To Sweetwater fans, you all have nothing to be ashamed of. You all played your hearts out and Latham and Ferguson had big days on the ground. You'll win your share for sure.
  3. Oneida did get a big win tonight and hats off to them in the process, but it's WAY too early to call yourselves the top dog in Region 2. I got a feeling if Harriman doesn't have something to say about that, there's some boys "South Of the River" that definitely have something to say about that. Now, to Coalfield fans, it's very important you all DON'T hit the panic button yet. Your season is NOT over. You all still have a good shot at the post-season. Don't phone it in.
  4. I got two questions real quick. 1.) What time should I show up for the Sweetwater tailgating experience if y'all have one? 2.) What do I need to bring for it? Back on topic, both teams are solid ball clubs but I think what it'll come down to is the Wildcats just have a little more pop on the offensive side of the ball. Looking forward to being at a heck of a game tonight.
  5. I don't expect to see a lot of points on the board for this one, and the Coalfield fans aren't gonna like to hear this but I just have a bad feeling that Oneida might beat them because, unlike the past couple years in region play, this Jackets team from all indications seems beatable. Coalfield better practice hard and play all 4 quarters because if they don't, Oneida is gonna make it a long night.
  6. Alrighty, I should be there plenty early enough to get in on some of that good ol' Sweetwater food! As for my prediction, Rockwood has beaten a tough Oneida team and is coming off an impressive win against a GOOD Midway team, but Sweetwater is a totally different beast altogether. This is potentially a game with HUGE playoff implications for both teams and the winner's road to the playoffs will get a little easier. I think Rockwood has a good defense, but they've not faced any running backs quite the caliber of Latham. In the end, I think Sweetwater is gonna have more bullets in their chamber for this shoot-out. So I'll take Sweetwater by 13 but I expect it to be closer than that.
  7. Things aren't gonna get any easier for either team from here on out. Wartburg has to deal with their region, not to mention Midway and Harriman. Coalfield has to deal with Harriman, Midway, Oneida, Greenback, and by the looks of things, Grace Christian. Plus they got a BIG rival waiting in two weeks for them in Oliver Springs. Congrats to my alma mater for the 33-7 win. Now just worry about Oneida.
  8. This is gonna be a good game. Looking forward to the trip to Sweetwater. You all have any kind of tailgating at your games?
  9. I wouldn't be so quick to throw Coalfield to the wolves. Simply put, they got outclassed and outplayed by a BETTER team last Friday. I'm not gonna be like everyone else and make excuses... they just got beat, plain and simple. I'd say however, if Coalfield loses to Wartburg AND Oneida, then I might start to hit the panic button.
  10. Midway's got a pretty cool logo as is... but MAN, the SOR logo on the helmets would be SO AWESOME! Now if only I could find a way for someone to hook me up with a 3XL SOR sweatshirt, LOL.
  11. Nah SCW86... Monkeyboy's from Rockwood. Bobcatsfan26 is, sadly, from Oliver Springs. Thank God the other 99.9% of OS fans aren't like that punk kid. Back on topic... I think Wartburg gives Coalfield a fight for a half, but Coalfield won't get as tired as Wartburg will in the second half. Prediction: Coalfield- 33 , Wartburg- 12
  12. Talking like a retarded gang-banger isn't a good way to impress people...
  13. Bobcatfan26, you're giving Oliver Springs fans a bad name with these posts.
  14. Hopefully, this will be a good game. Not sure what all McMinn has and it's too soon to say what kind of team OS is.
  15. I think Wartburg is gonna give Coalfield more than the Jackets bargained for... but depth will just take over and Coalfield should pull out the win. My prediction: Coalfield- 33 Wartburg- 12
  16. Well I was curious because all I've heard on here is about Silverdale having a TON of transfer kids and I was curious if any of them had made a difference. Tough way to start the season for the Bobcats. Hopefully next week they'll bounce back.
  17. Both teams played really hard Friday night. Rockwood may have looked a bit rusty at times, but I think they'll have the kinks worked out in time for Midway. But give credit to Oneida for a great defensive game as well. The fact they went toe to toe with a possible 2A playoff team shows that this may be a team in 1A to watch out for. Rockwood's biggest problem was they had a lot of penalties. I think more will be told about the Tigers in the coming weeks because going to "The Emerald Forest" by far no easy task and going to Sweetwater is gonna be a tough test.
  18. I wouldn't want to be Wartburg either.
  19. Rockwood definitely got more than they bargained for out of Oneida. Give the Indians credit where credit's due though... they went toe to toe with a solid 2A school. What hurt Oneida was special teams, but that's another topic entirely. Back on topic, I think Rockwood and Midway both will score two touchdowns, but I'm a little bit uneasy about Midway's kicking game because last year it got so bad they had to go for 2 every time. That said, Midway can very well pull off the upset and has a GREAT chance to do it. But Rockwood has historically owned the series against the boys of South of the River and I think Rockwood will win thanks to special teams.
  20. Best of luck to RBS. Seems like those kids try harder than any other school in the state and I hope they win one this year.
  21. Yeeesh... was it as bad as the score looked? I kinda suspected York was gonna win, but no way did I think they'd win by 47. I don't want to be at Coalfield's practice Monday...
  22. Did the transfer kids make THAT much of a difference???
  23. The Kingston scores aren't right that are posted. Kingston beat Wartburg 3-0 and beat Gibbs 1-0. They lost to Webb 1-0. As for Wartburg, well... against Kingston they got drilled. Don't know about how Wartburg did against Gibbs and Webb though.
