  1. Both Smith and Haynes wrestled tough but the Senior showed a lot less class than the freshman. Winking at the coaches, etc. Pretty classless for such a classy program like Baylor. Oh well, no big deal, just probably hasn't been taught any better. I know you would never see anything like that from an irish wrestler. Hope those two see each other again this year. Anyone know if that happens again and where. -DDB
  2. I am friends with coaches from Soddy Daisy. I see Turbo just about every weekend in the summer at tournaments during the freestyle and greco season. You guys will see come February. Then you can tell me how much of a jokester i am, and Turbo can put your sleepers to sleep.
  3. Wrestlingod...I have no idea who you are talking about. I live in Nashville, and cant think of anyone around this area. I would think that Turbo would be the favorite to win the state at 130 or 135 which ever he decides to go. That is only my opinion.
  4. Considering Turbo is about 15-0 over Aaron Lopez over the last couple years, and he beat Mavin Lopez two or three times this summer. I would think he would be the favorite. He also got beat in overtime as an 8th grader to 2X state champion Logan Biddy, pretty impressive. In my opinion he is pound for pound one of the top three kids in Division 1 this year. Wrestlinggod...who are the kids around his weight that you think can beat him?
  5. It sounds like Soddy Daisy may be the team to beat when everyone gets healthy. Jacob Stevens Ryan Gardner Jake Gamble Campbell Lewis Turbo Smith Jonathan Taylor Jamarcus Mobley Blaike Henry Billy Swanson Alex Seeley All these kids could be state placers and could have 4 or 5 state champs. Congrats to Henry, Shane, Rabbit, and Yost for getting all the guys together. Should be tough if everybody gets in the right weight and they all stay healthy.
  6. According to trackwrestling Tennessee had 32 kids wrestling at the Freestyle and Greco Tournament at Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennessaw Georgia. Tennessee had a few guys win the tournament. This is great to see the Tn kids traveling to wrestle. According to the brackets, Turbo Smith beat Marvin Lopez in the Championship in both styles. That could be a state finals match next year.
  7. Good tournament, Good Competition. Thanks for putting it on!! Congrats to Ace-outstanding wrestler in Greco, and Congrats to Turbo-outstanding wrestler in freestyle.
  8. Aaron Lopez did not beat Tyler Askey. If you look at the brackets, Turbo Smith beat Tyler Askey and won his pool, Aaron Lopez won the other pool and wrestled Turbo Smith in the finals. Tyler Askey has a great shot at being a 4X state champion in Georgia. He has won many national tournaments such as Dixie, Liberty, Big Horn, USA Folkstyle etc.
  9. I just happened to be passing thru town and decided to stop in and check out some of the lady wrestling. What a good show, the girls wrestled tuff on both sides. One question though, who was that fat, little divot-headed troll-looking dude that was deep-throating that microphone all night. Oh my god was he annoying. Get somebody to tell him to pull his pants up.
  10. I heard that he wasn't welcome at the banquet or in their practice room anymore. Of course it could just be an ugly rumor. But I heard that he and some other wrestlers got in trouble again and he was banned but the others were not. But I can understand that since they are coming back next year and Mang isn't. Anyone have the full story? Hope that's not true.
  11. No, they will not wrestle my school. We are Div. 2. Nothing new
  12. BCB you sound dumb too! Why dont you do something besides talk about your meetings where you go and get drunk before the wrestling matches. People like me get tired of reading that crap. Remember kids read this board. So go and get your breath mints before you come to Blackman, because the match is front of the school. If i knew that ND was coming to my school, I would have a cop sit outside and use breathalyzers before he let the parents in because thats what people think when they hear about ND wrestling parents. i hope they are not all like that.
  13. Bradley always has an easy schedule. nothing new here!!
  14. i heard that the Soddy Daisy 112 beat Manley of Baylor. Can someone confirm if this is true or not? Also did Soddy Daisy's 215 or 119 win? I know Soddy Daisy had to forfiet those weights due to weight management, but someone said they wrestled all those weights as exhibition matches.
  15. SEXYNASINGLET...while the red bank coach may be a good coach, it would be crazy to say he is one of the best in the area. the area you are talking about is the chattanooga area. he is no where near Henry, Logson, Morgan, Connell...i could name more. It is not as though he was handed a team that was not traditionaly good. I could only find records back to 1994, but Red Bank was in the top 4 at the state tournament from 1994-2001. I dont know how long the coach has been there, but since 2002 they have not been in the top 10. 2002-13th, 2003-20th, 2004-38th, 2005-51st, 2006-17th, 2008-13th, and they have not had a state champion since he has been there. Im not down grading the coach, but to say he is one of the best in the area is talking a little crazy. Good Luck to Red Bank this year!!
  16. i dont have a kid that wrestles and im not from bradley or the chattanooga area.
  17. everyone knows that whoever the kid that starts can not beat Mr. Mang. so your saying its fair for that kid to wrestle all year only to be told that he has to wrestle Mr. Mang off for varsity to see who gets to compete at the state. I dont think thats fair to the kid. Now if Mr. mang beats him at the begining of the year and he competes all year then that is fair, but Mr. mang can't do that because he is being punished for moving twice in a years time. I mean was he punished at all. He was told he couldnt compete in Tn. last year, so he goes to Alabama to compete and comes back here after the year. But he is allowed to come back to the program and sit out for a year and take some kids spot at the end of the season. i dont care how hard you work, you have to do whats right. and letting a kid battle his heart out for your team all year only to be put on jv for the state is hardley the right thing to do.
  18. he is only allowed to wrestle the traditional region and traditional state. he has to sit out a complete year since his last competition date during his high school wrestling season in Alabama. Alabama's state wrestling tournament is the same weekend as the state duals in Tn. I know we are all glad to have Mr. Mang back and representing Tennessee, you have to question the Bradley coach's decision to let him come back and wrestle. he was kicked off of the team a year ago, and now they are going to let another kid start the whole season, only to put on j.v. at the end of the year for the state tournament. that does not seem vary fair, just my opinion.
  19. jj meldorf is nicknamed lightning at soddy b/c of how fast she runs.
  20. 103 Talon Noman (ov) vs. Justin Hammons (sd) 112 Jadoobirsingh (cl) vs. Boone (nd) 119 Adamson (nd) vs. Johnson (bright) 125 Myers (gr) vs. Karteron (tull) 130 Fuller (sd) vs. Ridenour (mary) 135 Winthrow (brad) vs. Winesburgh (sd) 140 McCroskey (sd) vs. Shield (mary) 145 Felix (frk) vs. Emin (ov) 152 Spain (brad) vs. Toney (sd) 160 Creagan (brad) vs. Wright (hou) 171 Robbins (jeff) vs. Flynn (nd) 189 Roberson (sd) vs. Hall (mary) 215 Coffey (cent) vs. Lettner (sd) Hwt Murray (sh) vs. Sliger (ool) ...can Soddy Daisy break the state tournament points record? I can see Soddy Daisy placing 11 or 12 guys and having 6 champions. I can see Bradley placing 7 or 8 guys and having 1 or maybe even zero champions, so i dont the team race being close. Maybe i should stay out of the hospitality room this time, so no one gets fired up when i post what i hear. Good luck to everyone this Wed, Thur, and Fri.!!!!
  21. so you did contact some coaches about david attending their schools this year. so that means some of what i heard was true. even if he had e mailed david or called david during the season, he would not admit that. its crazy what you might hear from the coaches in those hospitality rooms.
  22. manonfya i hate to break it to you, but i was in the hospitality room, i have some very good friends that are in Clarksville. sometimes i wish i did not go into the hospitality room because i gained about ten pounds over the weekend. I did hear coaches talking about this situation. i posted what i heard. im not gonna call Logsdon or call out any coaches i heard talking about this. i just wanted to share some information that i had heard. i could care less where David goes to school, and who he wrestles for. i wanted to let the people in the wrestling community to hear what i had heard. if you dont like it or believe what i say, i really dont care, but im not just gonna make up something like this and post it for fun. thats alot of typing, and im not very good at typing. they didnt have computers when i grew up, so i never learned how to use a computer and type that great. i still use one finger to do my typing.
  23. Im telling you that i heard this from the coaches in the hospitality while i was eating all the good food that Clarksville bring in the hospitality room. i just wanted to share what i heard with the wrestling communtity. thats what this boars is for.
  24. When i was in Clarksville at the state duals, i happen to over hear some of the coaches talking while in hopitality with my Clarksville friends. From what i understand, when David Mang got kicked off the Bradley wrestling team, Coach Logsdon called all the coaches in the Chattanooga/Cleveland area. I know for sure Soddy Daisy and Cleveland (from what i was told in the hospitality room). He told the coached that Mang was a bad kid and bad mouthed him so the coaches would not consider his transfer to their teams. He supposably wrote a letter the board of Hamilton Co. Dept. of Educ. stating what david had done, so he would not be able to compete for any Hamilton Co. schools. From what i hear from very reliable sources, is that about mid way through the year, Logsdon starts e-mailing David Mang, and congradulating him for all his success and tells him that he would be welcomed back to Bradley, and they would love to have him. I dont know if all of this is true or just hear say, but why would David go back to place that kicked him out and to a coach who bad mouthed him. it seems to me that he would go to a place that would compete against Bradley or just stay in Alabama. Just thought i would share what i heard.
