  4. To my knowledge, Wave Wrestling is open to all wrestlers, and not just kids going to private schools. I do know that Collierville, Houston, & Arlington have very good youth programs.
  5. are you kidding me? There are several very good youth programs in the Memphis area. One of which has produced more All-Americans than any other program in the state. So don't tell me that there aren't any good youth programs. The issue with Region 8 is simply that wrestling is still young out here, give it time and I'm sure they will be up there with the rest of the state.
  6. No, I would never speak about a kid like that. YOU maybe, but never a kid. And I was talking about the "chicken" fighting. If we are going to get into a dong slinging contest, we are going to need a bigger forum than this.
  7. Not my beast. And #### fighting is not my style. But if you are pimping, I'm sure someone might take you up on it. I never called out Kermick, I said I would think he would want a shot at him. And I still do think given the chance that he would want a shot at him. So how is that calling him out. I actually think it would be one heck of a match. Both are very good wrestlers.
  8. I would have thought that Kermick would want a shot at Robinson, but I could be wrong. Not much fun getting on the mat with that beast.
  9. maybe there just wasn't enough competition for them.
  10. Who let the 8 year old have a sign on to this site? And the word is "have"

    D1 VS D2

man, ya'll sound like a broken record. When are you going to understand this will not ever happen? Worse than a bunch of kids wanting something.
  12. First, I'm not the coach, just a dad. Second, you are totally correct that it's up to the kids to stop the cheating, but my point was as adults if there is any knowledge of it, then it should be stopped.
  13. I'm saying, that our team does everything we can to make sure the tests are 100% legit. That there is not one case where the person doing the testing allows anyone to slip by with his knowledge, and he looks for things the kids may try to do.
  14. If you bend the rules, you cheat. Bottom line.
  15. All I know is what our kids go through, and can tell you that we are very strict on making sure everything is done according to the rules. And can only hope that every school is doing the same. Don't think we as adults would be teaching the kids much if we know it is going on, and don't do anything about it. And I totally disagree with you, they are not on the same field. Some kids can cut to a weight based on the rules, others (based on what you are saying) have to cheat to be able to get to that same weight. Just because they are at the same weight, doesn't mean they both followed the same rules.
  16. not trying to fight, nor get too far into this, since I don't know a ton about Cleveland wrestling. But, if you re-read the post, you can take it a different way. At first when I read it, I was along the lines of most of you in that I thought he was taking a cheap shot at this man, and Cleveland wrestling. But, when I read through it again, I can see a 2nd view. Not sure exactly which way he is meaning, becuase it's impossible to read into someone's words and understand their feelings unless they are gifted at writing. But, the other side I see is that he is pointing out that no matter how much money you put into a program, that does not guarentee you a title. And he is using Cleveland as an example.

Seriously, some of these kids need to think about growing at some point. I'm not trying to belittle any of them, but several of these kids are as tall as I am, and are still trying to wrestle down at 112?
  19. I saw a few that I would question. Mainly, how do you have Duncan as a "Darkhorse", and not a contender? I understand that there are some serious wrestlers in this tournament, but a 4 time (probably soon to be a 5 time) state champ should get a little more respect than that. Not to mention Doster, a 3 time champ.
  20. Agreed, and thanks for representing TN well. Thought you gave a very good summary of each kid, and your picks were spot on
  21. I would never be "happy" about turning someone in for a rules violation. First I would approach the Coach, AD, and Principle and let them know that you think they are violating the rules and if they don't respond........., then do what you feel is right. not my business, just wondering what the penalty was. Must not be too stiff, or teams wouldn't be breaking the rules so obviously
  22. So what's the penalty? Because I know of teams that are playing and being "coached" during this time.
  23. No doubt it's BA. They hit the ball way too well to be beat 2 games straight.
