  1. At the start of the two 30 second tiebreakers, Turbo picked neutral. This was allowed by the ref and double overtime started. The wrestler must choose top, bottom, or defer to start the 30 second tiebreakers, thus creating "bad time" that must be re-wrestled.

  3. Perry had a bad back and I believe Birdwell was hurt as well.
  4. Yes he does. I was also at the Bradley Invitational when he was there with the same wrestlers and did not fare as well. I know he's a new wrestler and is definitely getting better all the time, but I want to make sure Dailey and Mills just didn't have bad days also. I listed him on ones to watch and he will move up if he stays on his path of success.

  6. Snowflake, you find it interesting that I immediately posted an apology? It was over an hour after you posted. I was trying to be nice to a newbie on here. I don't really give 2 shingles about what you think about my team, coaching abilities, or fans. Am I afraid to lose my job? Haha, not in the least. The only techniques that I'm modifying is telling you what a @3$# you are.

  8. SnowWhite, Welcome to Coach T. I see this is your first post. I'm glad that you enjoyed your time at the Soddy Daisy Showdown, there was some great wrestling there yesterday. I apologize to you for being appalling during the 189lb finals. Some kids respond differently to different types of coaching. Some need to be calmed, some need to be assured, some need to be pushed, and some need a fire lit under them. Our 189lber, Luke Frederick, needs that fire lit under him. He responds well to being pushed hard and being demanded to give his best. His father was the big bear in the stands that was louder than me (hard to believe) and encourages pushing his son to be his best. Luke responds well to this type of coaching and has placed at every tournament this year, making the finals twice. As you could see, Luke wrestled way better in the 2nd and 3rd periods, after my ghastly and embarrassing coaching. You have to find out what makes kids tick and I take pride in getting the most out of my wrestlers. My 103 and 112 also made the finals. Were they coached in the same manner? No. But they need different things that help them be their best, that's why it's called coaching. I do bring a certain intensity to the mat when I coach. My wrestlers know that I love them and they would run through brick walls for me, Luke Frederick would probably be in front. So I'm sorry that you don't agree with my coaching methods. I'm going to be doing everything I can to get the best out of my wrestlers, so don't expect to see my resignation any time soon!
  9. Jeff Lester and Steve Britton at Tullahoma are both awesome. Both former head coaches, they have both coached teams to region titles and have plenty of hardware to show for it.

Alex Bennett dec over Hayden Barcelona.
  15. I understand the rule that was implemented on this subject and don't want to stir the pot. However, I do want to bring up a few points that I feel should be /should've been considered. 1. Girl's wrestling IS NOT sanctioned. Emily went through the entire girl's season undefeated without a single point being scored on her. She wins OW in the "girls invitational" and is not recognized as a state champ. I was told she is not recognized as a state champion because the sport is not sanctioned. Why make her choose a path when girls wrestling is not sanctioned? Why make her walk through a half-schedule of girls wrestling to be "girls invitational" champion? I ask why not keep the rule as it was last year as she had to choose before the region tournament? I would understand a little more if it was sanctioned, it isn't. 2. Girls that wrestle boys have an unfair advantage. Give me a freaking break!!!!!!!!!!! Bradley and Baylor have an unfair advantage because they have a room full of beasts that they get to practice with. Therefore, they should only be allowed to wrestle in Beast of the East and the Clash. The MUS defense had an unfair advantage as they had to face the MUS offense everyday. Let's take away their state championship. If a girl doesn't want to wrestle a boy, she doesn't have to. They HAVE a choice. Don't punish a girl because she wants to get better. 3. Parents may be uncomfortable with boys wrestling girls and vice versa. Some parents are uncomfortable by letting their little sweethearts do anything that could damage their precious fragile egos. Some parents won't let their boys play football because they might get hurt. They don't form a flag football league for them. Nobody has ever taken it easy on Emily because she's a girl. She gets the best a kid can bring because they don't want to lose to her. Do you think everybody gives Cameron Croy all they got once he starts blasting them? I'm uncomfortable with my kid wrestling Michael Kennedy, but he still has to get out there. 4. Preparation for the future. Emily Gessler will wrestle in college and wants to become an Olympian for her country. She has already wrestled in numerous national tournaments. She spent a week in PA this summer training with a girl that was in the Olympics. What is going to prepare her for the future? She was basically FORCED to choose the guy route in order to get better competition. She often get man-handled in matches (pardon the pun), but she doesn't shy away from it or go running to lesser competition. So when we had our talk, I told her I was 100% behind whatever decision she wanted to make and she needed to take a few days to think it over. I knew what she was going to choose, her father knew what she was going to choose, and Emily knew what she was going to choose. So she'll battle as hard as she can this season and do this very best she can.
  16. Can we get a box score on this?
  17. That's very valuable information. Please send this kind of stuff to ronniebray@hotmail.com.

  20. Yes, I will also do a D2 ranking, but not much info is being sent in from these teams. Therefore, once tournaments get started, I will have a better feel of who is going where.
  21. Rumor has it that Morris isn't wrestling this year. Time will tell.
