  1. I didn't realize we are playing Upwards soccer. As I told another blogger, we play hard the first half no matter the team. In every game thus far except Oak Ridge, all 20 of the girls have played and played a whole lot,,,,in the first half too. The second half the starters play for about 5-10 minutes then the subs begin rolling in 1 or 2 at a time. We have one 8th grader, six freshman, and seven sophomores which adds up to 14 underclassmen. We have four juniors and two seniors....so what does that tell you? We are very young. Besides Rockwood, the district is very weak. We set limits in the 2nd half on how we are able to score....after at least 5 passes, crosses, headers and beyond the 18. If the other team can't stop it with the underclassmen, so be it. In one of our games we just passed the ball around all over the field from GK to Mid, to wing, to mid, switch the field, to forward then back to mid, back outside, back to center back then back to GK., and all the other team does is chase.....so you tell me....is that fun on an opponent........NO IT ISN'T. They did it once and even I felt that was very unsporty so therefore they then set limits on what to do before attempting a shot on goal. We've had that done on us before as well in the past years and I felt it was unclassy as all we did is chased. Yes, the one particular girl was in late for our first game at CC before she was brought out at the 65th minute just to keep a little stability as we had all my bench in the majority of the 2nd half but I don't guess you remember that she was taken out some the 1st half as well as some of the 2nd half. I also guess you don't remember that we had 2 girls score that have never played soccer in their life. Our bench and inexperienced players do not complain because they have been getting a TON of playing time EVERY GAME...except Oak Ridge. Matter a fact some even ask to come out for a break. So......I don't really care what games you saw us play and how you think our reputation is......that's your right an opinion but lay off until you know all the facts.....or would you be happy if we just chop down the scoreboard and play Upwards. This is only our 8th year of girls soccer at GCA and I personally have been a part of all 8 of them in one way or another, I can tell you and so can my daughter, that we've been on both sides of the spectrum. We've been beaten like a drum in the past by as many as 15 goals and I'll tell you what it did for GCA soccer.....it pushed them to work harder, play harder, get stronger, get faster, and, one thing we never did.....and that is act like you going off whining and yelling and calling for bad reputation. We took our whippings, we pushed ourselves, got back on our feet....and moved on. So, you get the hint.....maybe it's time for you to move. Get over it. Oh boy, I bet I just ruffled your feathers didn't I? Have a good day
  2. Well, lets just tear down the scoreboard and play Upwards soccer. We have 12 team in our district so therefore are limited on non district games. Our non district schedule is much tougher. Besides Rockwood, the district is very weak. We set limits in the 2nd half on how we are able to score....after at least 5 passes, crosses, headers and beyond the 18. If the other team can't stop it with the underclassmen, so be it. Get over it
  3. Unfortunately our district is very weak this year and we have 12 teams in it. We always play hard for the first half and then 2nd half is all underclassmen and inexperienced players and can only score on headers, crosses and after at least 5 passes. Yes, we do show sportsmanship but it's not our fault that we have to play all 11 of these district games. Our non district schedule is much stronger....Oak Ridge (AAA), Knoxville Webb (D2 powerhouse) Alcoa, Seymour (AAA), pre-season with Jefferson County (AAA). FYI, we only lost to Oak Ridge 3-2, very good game and we had our chances. So, until you watch us play and know how we play, please don't make accusations.
  4. That I can't answer as I have no clue. I just know the 1st three options to be true
  5. Don't forget about the Tyner Rams too. They've been around for a very long time
  6. Ok, I've read every page on this topic and I haven't replied on here in over a year but when I know someone doesn't know the truth about facts I will always step in. Grace was the 3rd option for the 2 that you say we sweet talked. Option number 1: Hardin Valley - coming straight from the brother's mouths.....HV was way too big of a school, not comfortable coming from a small school and transferring into this massive school. Option number 2: Webb - Even with a scholarship was way too expensive to attend. Option number 3: Grace - Small school like Rockwood and tuition was much much lower than Webb. Sorry to bust your bubble Tigernation.....but then again, we're used to all the misled facts, rumors and lies.
  7. Very true, it was a great win for us. This is the first year that we've won the district tournament and first time ever advancing to the region finals. I can explain our season in 2 words.....Heart & Determination. We started the season with 17 on the roster, lost 3 players early to season ending injuries and 1 more due to academics. We played a very good Catholic team with just 13 players. After scoring 2 goals, my freshman forward was put out with a concussion during the 2nd half, she's now done for the season......now down 5 players. Tonight against CAK our 12 players battled hard with their roster of 32, we led 2-1 at one point and was tied 2-2 until the 62nd minute and our wheels fell off going against their fresh legs. I'm proud of these young ladies as they have been through a lot this season.....shredded ACL, neck/spine injury, concussion, concussion, grades. They're playing extremely hard for their fallen teammates with so much heart and passion. They leave it all on the field. Now we face an extremely talented Greeneville team and all the scouting reports are saying that they are more talented than CAK........Oh Boy!!!! Thanks for asking, it's good to see someone noticing us. And yes, as another poster stated 20 saves..... our GK is a beast. After the CAK game she now has 217 saves on the season. She had 18 tonight and 23 against Knoxville Webb a few weeks ago. She's special....but also a senior. Definitely going to miss her next year.
  8. Straight from the mouth of Bernard Childress (TSSAA). "While recruiting is an issue among both private and public schools, but the past 8 known violations have involved public schools." Make it 9 now. Another public school in the middle TN area just received punishment last week for recruiting violations. Stop beating a dead horse....you will not win
  9. According to the TSSAA website. 2A, 4A and 6A are played Saturday. I've pasted the links below with the Info. http://tssaa.org/2014-tssaa-division-i-bluecross-bowl-class-2a-football-playoff-bracket/ http://tssaa.org/road-to-the-bluecross-bowl-2014/
  10. Hey Crow, it was good to finally meet you. Like Raven said, I haven't posted much lately though. Good to meet 91 landers and the other poster from Cloudland too....sorry, I forgot his name. Heard that Pujo was there but still yet to meet him. Met the Hampton QB and shook his hand and got to tell him I thought he was a great football player....nice kid. Great job Rams on your big win. Next stop....Marion County.
  11. Geeeeeze....you are taking it hard. Hampton has beaten us 4 times. We lost to McMinn Central, Rockwood and CAK this year. 2 public's and 1 private. We didn't fuss and whine, we just built on it. Like you say....everyone loses at some point. We could lose next Friday at Oneida.....and if we do In I promise you that we will not make any excuses.
  12. Well, I haven't posted in probably 2 years. Gotta say how proud I am of the Rams beating Hampton 54-27. Was a great game, especially the first half as neither team could stop each other. Coach McKamey definitely made some adjustments at half as our defense stepped it up the 2nd half and on offense.....the Ram Train could not be stopped. Finally beat the Dawgs after many attempts. My son....who played football with Raven, never got to see the victory playing Hampton but glad it's finally happened. Coach McKamey has now officially beaten every team that has beaten him. Great job Rams......Oneida, here we come.
  13. State's Best Ever....TBD, but last fall 2013 we had a freshman at Grace Christian Academy (Knoxville) that shattered 2 school records. Scored 52 goals and 19 assists. She also plays with FC Alliance Division 1 team that won state tournament. District 3A-AA MVP, 1st team all region....but got overlooked for all state. We lost in the region semis by eventual state champ Knox Catholic but she was only 1 of 3 players in class A-AA to have scored on them last fall. Well, she scored our only goal that night. Remember the name...Allie Dunn. If she stays healthy she will be a legit D1 prospect. Not bad for a small HS with 314 students.

  15. Just a little under 2 years ago, our friend, former GCA running back Will McKamey collapsed on the sidelines during a game down in South Pittsburg TN. He had a brain injury that night and recovered fully as the doctors released him to play nearly 3 weeks after that incident. He signed to play football as he got a full ride to play at the US Naval Academy. Just this morning during Spring practice with Navy, he collapsed again. With prayers from our GCA Ram Families and many more around the area, Will pulled through then. Please, I ask everyone to pray without ceasing once again for Will and his family. For those of you that have been contacting me today about Will McKamey's status and what has happened, here is an update below from Kara, (his mother). Update as of 8:55 Friends and family, it is difficult to even send updates at this point as my body and mind just feel numb. I will try my best to keep everyone posted because I know you all love us and your prayers are so needed and appreciated. As of now Will is showing very little response. He is in a coma currently. In the past several hours since surgery we are seeing some very small improvements and reactions to light etc. We are hanging on to every small thing. We know those small improvements are a DIRECT result of the prayers going up to our Heavenly Father. Please continue praying for his body to fight to recover! We are once again amazed at the love and support of our Grace family, our friends, and loved ones. This time around we also have an Amazing Navy family that have shown an overwhelming pouring in of love and prayers as well! I say the more prayer warriors the better! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

  20. Congrats to Trousdale County from the Ram Fan. Very good football team and well deserved. Hopefully we can come to the Creekbank next year.
