At least you were right most of the time.Heard any good rumors about our AD lately?I've heard something is in the wind,true or not?

Drew wound up on the line out of necessity last year.He kind of liked it,and did a very good job.You are correct in saying he is a talented athlete,played strongside linebacker on defense and was a headhunter and a sure tackler.

Any ideas on assistant coaches or is it to early to speculate?

If I remember correctly,your brothers won more than they lost over their years.I'm not sure your luck would be any better.HA,HA!

Do you have any interest in administration?Sounds like what is needed from experience standpoint.

I'll promise you this coach won't do exactly as told!

Are you cynical or just completely pessimistic?Wait till the results are in from the field before you judge coach as a good hire or not.All he needs is a chance and that apparently is what he is going to get.I applaud the choice.

It won't be official until the next school board meeting,regardless if a deal has been struck.This is premature.

All these games must be played on the field.I learned a long time ago predicting how young people will perform is a very inexact science,to say the least.At this point,competiveness will be a great thing.The talent cupboard is not bare,and I'm anxious to see the kids respond to this coach.If they resemble most if not all of his former players,great effort and execution will be the norm.If that translates into victories we can all hope!It is almost spring and the old saying still applies,"HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL!"

When the school was named,they went straight to the source.The Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians gave their approval for the use of the name Sequoyah and Chiefs.This was to recognize his achievement as the author of the Cherokee alphabet.We name monuments after men of honor,why not schools?I don't get the PC bullcrap in our world today!I don't see how a few ruin things for many.

This is true.I think it is asking to much of kids to go from being fierce rivals to teammates all at once.Respect for one another has to be a factor also.Look at the dominant programs in Blount and Knox counties and you will see the foundation built in middle school.

Man,that's good stuff!Glad to see V still has that sense of humor!By the way,does anyone think we need a middle school program besides me?It would go a long way toward helping our boys come together if they start sooner.

It took me a while,but glad to be here.Did we talk recently?Bill49,glad to see you still have an interest in hometown happenings,you've been gone a long time.Wow,if I had to go through a process like this coach described,I would be upset also.I also believe coach Holloway knows a lot more about football than our A.D.Success or failure cannot be blamed on just one,but look at the top down.How much fundraising or handshaking to build support does our A.D.do?I have been on site for several years and don't see much building going on.In his position,his job is more about building relationships to benefit all the programs not just baseball.Where would baseball be without PM?I would like to see a change made here to if we really want to see all our kids benefit.

At the very least a district championship contender should be an honest expectation each year.Nothing against the other members but no one is extra talented.Should be very competitive every year.

It is obvious to me you have not met him.I think when you do the questions will disappear in your mind.Charisma and motivational wise I compare to Spurrier,which may be a stretch in your mind,but I see the attributes.Again I say let's give him a chance with our full support.

We all need to be kindred spirits and give the team all the support we can muster.There are a lot of great kids out there.I firmly believe we will see them excel in the near future,and whether things go as you believe they should or not,let's give it a chance and see where it goes from here.

Contact coach Quarles at Maryville and see if we are settling for second best.I don't believe that is what you would find out.They are glad to see him even consider getting back into coaching.I believe this is the best chance to bring two rival communities together united for our kids,which is what it all boils down to anyway.

It has been a while since he has actively coached,but football is still blocking and tackling.The motivational skills have not eroded a bit over the years.He is an excellent football coach and a better man who will help our boys grow into fine young men.They will be able to depend on what he tells them,and what he tells them will be what he means,and there will be no doubt about that or where they stand with him.If they want to play for him.they need to work hard in practice.All will have a chance regardless.It will be a tight ship run his way,FIRST CLASS.I am new to this,so forgive me,no offense intended to anyone.Just giving what information I know about coach.
