  1. Not Independence fans. Independence fan. That guy brings shame to all of us normal fans.
  2. Franklin's still the most dangerous team. Hillsboro is just a bunch of athletes who make way to many mistakes. Even watching Franklin barely pull one over IHS, they still looked great in the other game i saw them play against BA. When they're on, they're on. If Indy wants to do any damage they have to stop making as many mistakes as they do. I can still see them winning at Franklin.
  3. Independence 62 Ravenwood 56 A game with a lot of turnovers as is usual with any Independence game. A typical game for Independence, lead going into the 4th quarter and then almost throwing it away. Indy has to start playing smarter if they want to go anywhere in the playoffs. Blake Carden 23 Ryan Eilermann 13 Tyler King 12
  4. Independence picked up a good win against overton on friday. carden put in a good 31 points after a tough game on tuesday. ravenwood on tuesday hillwood on friday
  5. Just what I've heard. On another note tough game for Independence tonight against upstart Overton team. Indy lost to Columbia last night. Very dissapointing from what I heard. Only 32 points for the Eagles, no one in double digits.
  6. Sorry I misinterpreted your words. It was a fun game for us students who were cheering unlike the ones who were all the way at the top. Dr. Campbell did get the crowd there with the "get in free with your student pass" gimmick. It won't be like that for the rest of the year unfortunetly. And to get things straight with the whole Henrie shoving Mitchell situation; Henrie merely didn't know the play was going on when he was talking to Mitchell about the turnover he made. It was a oh no the game's going on shove, not a what the heck is your problem shove. A questionable reaction none-the-less but it was done in the heat of the moment.
  7. Fot those of you that don't know Indy's student section boos a player from each team every game, usually the point guard you know to make it harder for his teammates to hear him. Wasn't trying to "hurt his feelings". We'll make sure not to do it again. Whether you want to admit it or not IHS is a good team in 11-AAA this year. After beating Brentwood and a subpar Centennial team and taking Franklin to the final second this season is turning out better than I thought it would.
  8. I never said it was a big deal, just bringing up a point. I'll try not to be optimistic about my team next time since Franklin is all mighty and Haddix is the best thing since sliced bread.
  9. Independence will need to be reckoned with in district play. They've found a new down low presence in 6'6 freshman David Howard. 18 points 12 rebounds and 9 blocks against Page. He was unstopable the first half. And when the doubled him, carden turned it on for a quiet 17 points. While the score may have been 67-56 it could've been a lot more had the starters been left in longer than they had.
  10. Independence beat Lawerence Co. on Monday by 30, lost to columbia on tuesday by 11, lost to lebanon on fri. by 17, and beat blackman on sat. by 11. Overall decent. Carden performed well again as did freshman standout David Howard
  11. Indy pulled out a big 78-48 victory over Lawrence Co. Granted Lawrence Co. wasn't very good, Indy played well again. Carden dropped 16, King 14. People will really see what Independence is made of when district play starts.
  12. Independence-63 Franklin Co.-56 Independence did a great job in the first half then let Franklin Co. get back in it. Blake Carden dropped 32. He has a great season ahead of him. He seems to be a better fit in the 3 or 4 spot instead of point guard.
  13. Heckman broke of one fantastic run late in the game but really didn't run other than that. Johnson had some good runs also. Better than average rushing game for the Eagles but still not where they need to be.
  14. Nick is performing well at receiver and as of now should stay there. I don't know why you would take Heckman out of the quarterback role. He is tops in the state in running and passing. A select few jump on him when he throws an interception. Everybody throws interceptions. I love Nick like a brother and he performed well at WR last night. I just don't think he should be playing quarterback. He seems to be enjoying the role and he sure enjoyed helping the team win the game last night.
  15. It also could've been due to the fact that he couldn't lift his right arm up after getting popped in the ribs so many times. Franklin did a great job bringing the blitz and the Eagles just couldn't stop it.
  16. Funny, because if I remember correctly quite a bit of Heckman's 197 rushing yards against Centennial were off designed runs
  17. that could be becuase some of the insults our fans throw around are just plain' stuipid. i respect both fans and teams and this rivalry. unfortunetly we can't seem to have a great bball rivalry also
  18. Just wait till midweek. That's when it starts to get heated. And believe me when I say that no one is hiding under any paper bags on Declaration Way. We still bring out the support.
  19. Hey i thought Indy would beat chs, many people did. these people were wrong. You know what they say, any given friday.
  20. These Franklin supporters sound like Indy supporters before the CHS game.
  21. I was suprised by the CHS team last night. You could tell they were playing with a chip on their shoulder. Even though I dislike them, I hope CHS has a successful year this year. Chaz is a playmaker, nuff said. If I was coaching the IHS team I would've made a few different play calls but I'm not. The Eagles will be ready for Franklin in two weeks. Coach Bobby will work that defense's tail off. I was dissapointed in the student turnout for CHS. I thought there would be plenty of more students there. I was actually hoping to cheer against someone this week.
  22. The only things that worried me that I noticed in the scrimmage were some falters by the o-line which was expected by many (a first year unit together, will get better with time) and a lack of consistency wrapping up tackles. Overall I was very pleased their performence against a good Wilson Central team. I'll be interested to see how the perform against LaVergne on Thursday.
  23. I agree with most of your picks. Being a biased Indy fan, I could see them pull out the upset tonight, maybe do what Overton did to us last year. A week ago the Eagles played decently without the output of Carden or Consiglio so if they show up it could be a different game. Barely any students will show up on the Eagles side which is quite unfortunate.
